Wow we saw some great reviews about this mexican restaurant as we stopped on our trip. Being from southern California we are a little skeptical about mexican food in other states. We did not go wrong. We were kind of in a hurry racing a winter storm on our trip back from Boise so we decided on the buffet. We had Chile relleno, enchiladas, tamales, chimichangas, corn and flour fajitas, rice, beans, and a rice pudding desert. several very tasty sauces were on the buffet as well. We were astonished that all of the buffet items were so tasty. i especially liked the chimichangas and chile relleno. All of these items on the buffet for only $8. Oh I almost forgot the buffet also had authentic menudo. (tripe soup) This was the best mexican food we have had in Idaho ! I will be back. read more

A solid stop that's inexpensive on your roadtrip. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality, flavor, and cheapness. Total meal for me was under $10. Tacos are about $2.20 each. Refreshing sight! I got the Aztec DF taco and the chirriga taco. Both were great. The sandwiched cheese in between the two tortillas is tasty. The tortillas held together well. Yum. Best decision to stop here on my drive from Boise to Idaho Falls. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and swing by for some tacos at a minimum. I opted for two traditional (al pastor and cabeza) and one Aztec DF (carne asada). Delicious. All meats cooked/prepared perfectly, and the specialty taco was an added bonus. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and the ambiance gives family restaurant vibes. All great reasons I'll come back anytime I'm driving through. read more

Look, the menu is ample, the execution is above average for Idaho and the salsa is above adequate. A solid 3.5 stars, but grade inflation would be required to overcome some of the flavors. It's a cute place, the inside is painted like you're sitting in a restaurant in Mexico & can look out the windows at the scenery. The food was good, & the service was friendly. However, the place does not have great air conditioning & is infested with flies. It's difficult to relax on a lunch break & enjoy your food while the room is hot & you're continually fanning flies away. If it weren't for the too warm room temperature & the flies I'd give this place 5 stars for the food. read more

Here's The Real Deal. So I go to California, and then on my way back I stopped in this tiny little town for the night. I make a wrong turn to my hotel and come across this cantina. The one thing I do know is Mexican food. I had the tamales my girl went crazy and ordered four different types of tacos. First some of the best tamales I've had in a very long time. Second some of the best tasting tacos ever. Third friendly friendly exceptionally friendly service. Fourth. The Decour is definitely Mexicano cantina. This place is really a 4.5 star but there is no button for this. I didn't really like the salsa not to say it wasn't good because it was. Just isn't my favorite style:-). The salsa and chips were standard but flavorful. Listen if you have been to Mexico than its always about the food. I notice a bunch of things about this place. Mexicanos eat here locals eat here and they have a drive through It was busy. This place was consistently busy and the owner was a delight ,and a true amigo. Now the bill..... Our bill came to $20 now that was a delight and we ordered enough for four people. This place was the bomb. So if you live here then eat here, and if don't stop and eat here. We've stopped here the last couple times we've travelled between SLC and Boise. The food has always been good but this time is was phenomenal. I ordered ala cart a sope, tamale and Chile relent. I thought Yelp had screwed me here for a moment. Over 60 reviews and a 4+ star rating and the food was so gross, we pushed it away and left. When I thought about it though, the parking lot and restaurant were full. It looked like a sure thing. I guess I can't blame Yelp. It's not their fault if all the reviewers in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere like food that my wife and I found to be gross and that triggered a "code-brown" on par with that scene from Dumb and Dumber. I don't even know where to begin. It was just all bad. Here's a list of the things we ate that sucked; tacos, burritos, tamales, enchiladas, etc. If you ever heard that old Jim Gaffigan routine about how he worked in a Mexican restaurant and every dish was a combination of meat, beans, rice, cheese and tortilla, Basically, don't eat any combination of those things at this restaurant. We used Yelp to find possibly the best Mexican food we've ever had in a tiny town in the middle of CA last month and we were hoping for a repeat but instead, we logged this epic fail. Also, they saw that we didn't eat our food and were leaving within minutes of getting it and they didn't even ask us if it was alright. They just took our money and didn't say a word. Some notes: no prices are on the menu, but don't let that put you off (prices are very reasonable, e.g. my light lunch of two tacos plus guacamole dip and free chips and salsa plus 20% tip was under $9, with the guacamole being by far the most expensive item); seating is a little eclectic, like a hippy restaurant, but kinda fun with tiny tables and jumbo family tables; DIY drink service except water (the first time I came I wasn't informed of this and realized halfway through my meal that I wasn't offered water; the second time I was offered); much better food than the bigger and nicer looking Mexican restaurant a few blocks away (where I was served hard tacos...). read more

We stopped here on a road trip. We were so pleasantly surprised. It's a family business and we met Joshua. He was so awesome! Efficient, patient, funny and kind! The food was delicious. We had the ceviche, cabasa, house made chorizo, & lengue tacos, a shrimp cocktail, a burrito and a tostada. Everything was fantastic. We also got the guacamole which was worth just eating with a spoon. Joshua even brought us the house super spicy salsa. The bathrooms were clean. They had draft beer too! Drove into Burley to get fuel before heading home to Boise. We usually get fuel and eat at Wendy's because it's convenient and fast. However, today we wanted a sit down meal after a long day of driving. We Yelp'ed best places to eat and chose Aguila Con El Taco. Wow, it did not disappoint! I had steak ranchero and my husband had the steak burrito. The salsa was amazing with fresh, delicious ingredients and just the right amount of heat! The steak ranchero was seasoned perfectly and the rice and beans were also delicious! Not overcooked, dry or flavorless like some food chains. My husband raved about his burrito. I had a blended watermelon margarita. They did not skimp on the tequila, it was not too sweet and freshly blended (not sitting in a margarita machine). I highly recommend stopping for lunch or dinner anytime. You can also order to go. No more Wendy's for me. (Only went to Wendy's for convenience). read more
