I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at the Rock Creek. This is an old school yet easy going steakhouse with lots of wood and warm atmosphere. I had the prime rib, a custom 17 oz cut, which practically melted in my mouth with plenty of au jus. The art of the standing rib roast is upheld here : low and slow, no doubt. This automatically came with soup and salad bar, which I also enjoyed. The service was spot on and very personable; definitely added to my experience in Twin Falls. I understand this place recently changed owners and I feel that perhaps, due to some past mishaps, the "orange" rating here doesn't do it justice. Stopped in for dinner a couple weeks ago and had a delicious meal! We had the teriyaki Ribeye with a baked potato and salad bar, and the lamb with a baked potato and salad bar. It was pretty clear he didn't care either. Prime rib was overcooked and came cold. Scallops were mushy and had zero seasoning or color. Shrimp were in a water / butter bath and literally tasted waterlogged (I've had better shrimp at Chinese food dive buffets). We should've known better...a steakhouse / seafood restaurant that serves imitation bacon bits? Why this place has the reviews it has, the patronage in the parking lot...it's a sheer head scratcher. Arrived tonight at 6:08pm, was told 20 minutes wait, actually seated 30 minutes later after being skipped by the hostess for another party with a similar name (but hard to confuse us as we were the only two parties waiting for tables). Ordered dinner and drinks within 10minutes of sitting. 3 of the drinks came, but server forgot to place the fourth order at the bar and had to be reminded. After 30 minutes we had to flag server down for appetizer order status. Again the server forgot to place the ticket for the appetizer and had to be reminded. It was 1.5 hours after sitting down that our food finally arrived. No refill of drinks offered, had to flag server for bar drink refill. When food arrived my order was a filet that was ordered medium rare, instead received a "filet" type steak that had burnt black edges and a cold raw middle, and a baked potato that was cooked but had cooled down to the point where the butter wouldn't melt because the interior was luke warm at best. The other 3 orders were of varying quality, all on the "poor, but edible" side. In addition to the poor food quality, the overall service was questionable at best. The hostess was young and untrained. Our server was very forgetful, inattentive, spacey, and appeared intoxicated while wandering around the tables in our section. Needless to say, a lot can be explained away and understood during tough times, exceptionally busy nights, etc., but it is apparent this establishment does not have its business together and I will not be returning or recommending. read more

This is my favorite stop when I come to Twin Falls. This place has history being around since '78 and the service and food is spectacular. Whether it's the appetizers, entrees, cocktails or wine I am never disappointed! Highly recommend, I've been coming here for years and don't plan on stopping. We went here for dinner tonight and it was a bit disappointing. For the price you pay it is not worth it. My wife ordered prime rib and what they brought was inedible. Obviously microwaved. They didn't end up charging us for it, but the fact that they even sent it out of the kitchen is enough that we will never go back. On top of that, the service was extremely slow (60+ minutes to get our main dishes) and the soda machine was broken. I don't know what the problem is with steakhouses in Twin Falls, but none of them are any good. Let me save you some time and money: if you're in Twin and you want red meat, go to Costco, buy some choice or prime rib eyes, and cook them yourself. One thing I like about the Rock Creek is the consistency. They have been doing a great job for many years. And everytime you visit they do the same great job. We were given food choices a couple weeks in advance as well as our group had a reservation a couple weeks in advance so there shouldn't have been a problem with staffing. We had a group of 40 and my wife and I ordered the prime rib and scallops plate. There were two ladies that were our waitresses that actually did a great job all things considered, but the issue that we had was the food... The prime rib was luke warm at best, I ordered medium and it was mostly rare. The scallops looked like they had barely touched the skillet and were raw. The salad they brought us looked like it had been pulled out of a bag and was mostly iceberg. The au jou that came with the prime rib was barely warm as well. To be honest, the best part was the baked potato and the wonderful sourdough bread provided with the meal. The biggest issue was the price...it was $30 a plate and for that kind of money I would have expected exceptional food. It was not even worth $15 a plate. We didn't even get offered desert for the price. Top it off we were charge a 15% tip for being a large group which jacked our price up to almost $80 for two of us. To be honest, I highly doubt I will return to this restaurant. I have heard good things about their appetizers at happy hour, but I don't think even half priced food could bring me back in. read more

Their soup was Blan, their roles were cold stale and tasteless. We had their prime rib 14 ounce for $32 with a baked potato. It was cold and too rare and tough. The baked potato was dry and overcooked. The waitress and hostess were not dressed appropriately very immodest and the service was slow. I wish I had something positive to say. My other half had the prime rib and shrimp. Prime rib was flavorless, mushy, stale and there was human hairs on the shrimp. I had dinner here while on a business trip last night. Nice little spot! Showed up before the dining room was open and had a drink in the bar. Nice area to be hanging out and relaxing before dinner. Very friendly staff. Dinner I had the steak and was cooked a perfect medium. Minimal seasoning which is normally not a good thing but the flavor from the grill was pretty good. Downside was the rice option as a side dish. Rice was pretty hard and tasted like it was more than a day old. Reason for a little low rating also is that it a get your own salad bar. Not that I think its bad to do something yourself, but I don't find a community salad bar that clean with everyone touching everything. A bit of a germ-a-phobe. read more
