This will be an honest review no affiliation with anyone or anything or any establishments. Got there at 5:00 my party didn't show up till 5:15. We ordered appetizers the calamari and the stuffed mushrooms for the price neither one of them was substantial enough for two people. We both had steak our salad with mediocre they put the salad dressing little bowl on top of the salad which is gross and there was a lot of brown lettuce in there and the tomatoes were not very red and there was only one small cherry tomato cut in half. I ordered the filet and my partner ordered the New York Steak. My fillet was very good I ordered a baked potato and it wasn't hot enough to even melt the butter because the butter came Frozen which is a bad thing for a restaurant the New York State person his was good he liked it. For dessert I had the creme brulee and he ordered the cookie thing with ice cream, I got my creme brulee first and then we continue to wait another 15 minutes for his dessert when it should have been brought out at the same time. And then our server messed up the first bill and then the second bill was the corrected one but that one was still wrong because there was an appetizer on there that we didn't order. Our server was Nola and she didn't even come to check on his mid meal would I go back again no. Coming back from Salt Lake City with my in laws looking for a sit down restaurant for lunch and came across Edgewater. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the location on the river and a new establishment that is very modern and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Waited for about 10 minutes before being greated by a server to take our drink order. Took about 10 more minutes to bring our drinks, asked for straws, waited and waited and waited! Finally got up and found the straws myself. Server took our food order when she brought the drinks which was great. We ordered 3 salads with salmon and a flatbread pizza which should have taken about 20 maybe 25 minutes! Finally after asking 40 minutes into it where our order was we finally got our food! And the restaurant only had maybe 5 tables full which had already been served with food. The food was delicious and salmon was cooked perfectly so that was great. The wait staff was far from impressive! It would be a great establishment if the staff cared! Took my daughter and grandkids to lunch here yesterday. Beautiful views, but the food was just okay. It definitely wasn't worth the $113.40 for lunch. The chicken was incredibly dry. I definitely wouldn't recommend the additional $6.00 to add it to a Cobb Salad. The big surprise was when I got the bill. The waiter never mentioned that there would be an additional $2.00 charge to add dressing to a salad. If you want to go for the views...you won't be disappointed. A great little upscale dining place, nestled right on the banks of the Snake River with copious patio seating options, so the location and natural ambiance are really the draw here. Pretty eclectic menu without overwhelming you with choices and we both very much enjoyed our selections (burger and fish tacos). They also have a children's menu, a cornhole setup on the patio, a grassy area between the restaurant and the neighboring hotel where we were staying, and a walkway along the river. So it's quite family friendly and there are plentiful opportunities for kids to entertain themselves while they wait - our extremely squirrelly six year old quickly joined up with the roving band of feral patio children and was happy as a clam! Speaking of waiting, prepare to do a lot of it. It probably didn't help that we came for Father's Day dinner when things were on the busy side, but the downside here is that everything is exceptionally slow. I gather this place is also relatively new, as the staff - while very nice - came off as very green. We first checked in with the hostess, gave our name and number, and were told about a 35 minute wait. She seemed a little uncertain when inputting our information, so I followed up when it had been 45 minutes, was told by a different person we weren't on any list but there was plenty of open seating on the patio and we could get seated right away :confused gif:, but okay. It took probably 15-20 minutes to be acknowledged by a server after seating, then similarly long intervals for everything else, to where we were looking at close to a 2 hour turnover despite not getting appetizers or dessert. Also had to ask for silverware & napkins after the food game, were at first given two very small cocktail napkins (lol), but the second time was the charm! It's important to note that with the beautiful surroundings, our son enjoying himself, and no place in particular to be, we were perfectly content to wait until the cows came home. But if you're on a time crunch or trying to get in a quick lunch break, you might not want to to chance it. Ultimately I think a lot of the shortcomings were reflections of being a fairly new place on a busy night. But based on the positive factors, I could easily see this becoming the choice fine dining spot for miles around once the kinks get worked out. Looking forward to trying it again on our next summer jaunt through Burley. read more

We first went to Edgewater in warmer months when we stayed at the hotel next door. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Good food, the river right off of the patio was beautiful, it was really great! So, when we were traveling through Burley again this December, we were looking forward to eating there again. To the point that we didn't eat much all day in excitement of a big dinner from Edgewater. We decided, this time, we'd prefer to enjoy the food in the warmth of our hotel room. So we ordered takeout. Dang... super disappointed!!! We ordered the shredded pork nachos, the cobb salad (with chicken and ranch), and a bison burger with fries. The nachos were NOT what they were described as on the menu. It was potato chips (fried?) with some cheesy side sauce that had bacon bits in it. Decidedly NOT nachos... same price, tho! Then, I opened my salad and it was beautiful, but zero salad dressing. Yes, we could have walked over to the restaurant to get some, but, really?? It was freezing outside... not worth it. The burger was good, but the fries were just regular ol' shoestring fries. You'd think a restaurant in Idaho would have some killer fries. So, the food was good, I would recommend you actually go to the restaurant rather than doing takeout and discovering you didn't get what you wanted/needed when you get back to your location. read more

Tried this place for the 1st time today for the Mother's Day brunch. Place is very nice, but for it being a buffet and the price you paid there was not a big selection. Very unorganized, and the service we got was not great. For us serving our self for most of the meal, we were almost done by the time we got our drinks, even water. We rarely saw our waitress, she was supposed to offer us new clean plates to go back for more food, but we had to go find our own. Our drinks sat at the bar forever until finally until the bartender brought them to us. The thing that really upsets me is that we got poor service, but they tacked on 75 dollars for the tip!!!!! What! We didn't get $75 dollars worth of service for sure! So it wasn't a great experience. Food wasn't bad but the experience was poor! read more

This wasn't the worst dining experience I've ever had but I wouldn't say best either. The restaurant itself is clean and beautiful. The views from the patio are excellent. The environment however felt almost sterile. There is no background music and everything is open enough that a private dinner conversation felt like a presentation to all in the restaurant. Even at whispers. The food in presentation was impressive. I don't like that as much as we paid to eat there that the food was almost kind of bland. We enjoyed Calamari, the EdgeWater Burger, and Fish & Chips. I didn't dislike the food, I just wanted to like it more. As far as service goes, it was not great. Our waiter was so painfully slow. We waited and waited to place our order. We waited a long time for the check. He didn't come back to our table enough. The other wait staff wasn't all that helpful either from observation. This place was worth a try but I was a little disappointed considering that the expectation was "fine dining". read more

I made a reservation well in advance online for a birthday, party of three. When we arrived on time they said they didn't show I made one. I showed the confirmation on my phone and the hostess confirmed I made a reservation for the time/date. She said "ya sometimes the online reservations work and sometimes they don't". After telling us they had a wait time now and making us wait a bit we got a booth. Our waitress who took our drink order advised she was still in training but by herself. She took our drink order and it took 35 mins to get two soft drinks and one cocktail. She came back to our table three times to ask questions about a whiskey sour and to inform us after 25 mins one of our soft drinks we ordered wasn't available. I then asked the hostess if we could get different service as it was a special occasion and the night was not going well. She said the waitress was new and that if I said it was a birthday we'd get a discount/free desert. That wasn't the point of what I was asking, I told her we are more than happy to pay full price for all things ordered (hadn't even had our food ordered at this point she was still working on the drinks) but would like different service. We continued to be served by the trainee but they did have a seasoned server take our food order and check on us a few times as well. The food was good but not amazing. We've been here twice now and both times the service was bad. It was an expensive meal and we felt like an inconvenience for asking for the minimum good service. We won't be back. read more

This new restaurant was beautiful and the view was splendid! We got sat and was told there was going to be a little bit of a wait because there wasn't a lot of servers on the floor. Our hostess was on it! She sat us and then ended up being our server. She said she didn't want us to wait, which was nice. She was super sweet to me and my wife. She asked about our day and how it was going and then was constantly found back at our table asking if we needed anything while we waited for our food to come out. She kept our sodas topped off, we got waters on the table. We didn't want rolls to leave room for our late lunch but she still asked us if we would like any. She was doing the same thing to the table next to us too! It looked like the place was busy for the Fourth of July Holiday, that's good being a new place. The food was great! And the service was great! Just expect a little bit of a wait on the food when the restaurant is busy! read more
