Don't go here! This place has okay food but the service is so bad. Ivan was our waiter and he was so rude and he spilled ranch all over my friends food as he was bringing it to our table. In town for the balloon feista, took a day trip to santa fe and wanted a nice quick lunch. We were one of 4 tables (11 customers total). Seffon was the worst waiter i've met in my life! Hair in my 14 y/o's sandwhich (why the hell was it on the bill still) wrong fries with my food, salad came with the meal (sent back). I got a survey on our recipt and he kept it, went back in and he had hid it in the trash can!!!!! I made sure to make myself known i wanted that survey! My family and I are usually huge Denny's fans. My dad would drive us across the US and we would know we are stopping at Denny's to get a great meal. But this location really disappointed. Our waitress really went out of her way to ignore us. Everyone around us were able to get served order and drinks. Bad, worse and worst! Have never particularly been a fan of Denny's but my husband begged me to accompany him. Huge mistake. Tables loaded with dirty dishes and leftover food. Staff kind of wandering around going duhhh. I commented after we left that I think our waitress had some mental health issues. She had to have been one of the dumbest people I've ever met. Seriously. Food was cold (mashed potatoes/gravy) not lukewarm...cold. Didn't even bother sending it back. Creamed corn looked like someone had vomited on the plate. The entire plate looked disgusting. Had half a roll and called it a day. Bathroom was grimy and had three air fresheners in one stall. Doesn't matter how many air fresheners you use, ya can't cover up the appearance and smell of filth. We stopped here around 9:00 am and the first thing we encountered was a disheveled host saying "good afternoon or evening or whatever." He seemed under the influence. We asked for a high chair they never brought us. I retrieved one myself. They gave my oldest kid a used kids menu. It was colored on and sticky with syrup. If I could give it negative I would!! Me my husband and his friend were at this establishment last night and there server Elliot E gave me one of my worst experiences of my entire life!!!! We had ordered our food and had been waiting for about 10-15min so I asked how much longer he knows its going to be he responded by saying that the table behind us was there first and we've only been waiting for 5 min. I said okay?? I understand that but I was just wondering how much longer our food was going to be. I usually come to any Denny's once a week for coffee n food but the hot wings n coffee here at the Bernalillo, NM stop is super salty n burnt to the center. The coffee was sitting out for a long time. I know because I drink coffee daily and make my own, n when I leave it out it's tastes like this. The water was good even tho he seemed to try to hurry us, the server was nice and I was still willing to give him the tip that I usually do even on 22$ I'd give a 10$. My partner was super hungry and hasn't ate all day n couldn't finish her meal due to it being saturated in salt. This place is usually a good place but idk what happened tonight, (food wise). Our server was rocky g, I always tip more than 20% if I dine in, I guess because we ordered small he figured we wouldn't tip well. When getting there waited a while before someone took our order, I orders the $6.00 Turkey sandwich with soup, I was told the soup wasn't ready and would take about 15 minutes, about 1.5 hours later after both of us finished our meal we were still waiting for the soup. There is a restaurant called The Range that is close by but we had no idea because we were just driving through and don't have smartphones. Anyways, the absolute worst service and food! I am a waitress and I have been for 6 years so I understand that sometimes things are just out of your control and thing a go wrong, but this was just ridiculous!! I understand you can't really go to a dennys and expect 5 star service and food (which we didn't), but this was simply an unacceptable experience. It's a long review but worth the read. Don't waste your time and money here. When my mother and I got there, it wasn't that busy, we got seated and it took about 10 minutes just to get out drinks ordered. We were so close to just leaving but didn't know if there were any other breakfast places on the way out of town. I really with we just left and got mcdonalds or some nasty crap (actually probably would have been better than this). During that 10 minutes, there was a waitress in the area cleaning and wiping down tables, sees us, walked passed us a few times and cleans a few more tables. . Then comes up to us and asks us if anyone has gotten our drink order, which they didn't. So she brought our coffee for my mom and tea for myself, then asked if she wanted cream, which she did. She never came back with it so we had to flag down another waitress who brought it for us. We weren't sure who our waitress was since the one who got our drink order didn't really greet us, tell us her name, or tell us she was going to be our waitress (sometimes other servers get drinks started for their fellow servers to help them out if they are too busy). Which it was not busy and there was a bunch of empty tables and servers weren't running around crazy or anything. I ordered the veggie omelette and my other orders the meat lovers omelette. The moment it is sat on our table, I instantly lost my appetite. Both plates looked disgusting and omelets were just a slab of overlooked egg blanketed over some greasy veggies/meat. I lift up my egg slab to see that half of the listed veggies are missing (just so happened to be the veggies I wanted and was going to pick out the others). It had squash and zucchini and was missing the spinach and mushrooms. That is not the waitresses fault and I overheard another waitress say that they were short staffed in the kitchen. But I would hope in that situation a manager would be at the expo line making sure acceptable food is being sent out. I have never ever sent back food before because I hate waste and I am really easy going and just deal with it, but this time I couldn't. Not just because of the missing veggies, but also because of the grease and overlooked eggs. No amount of Cholula could have saved that omelet! So, I kindly flag down who I assumed was our waitress and politely told her the situation, she offered another omelet but I opted for a stack of pancakes instead. I figured those were quick and easy and we didn't have much time left before we had to hit the road again. I receive my pancakes in a timely manner which was amazing and they tasted great, until I noticed the dark thick hair about 3 inches in length laying on my plate. I was so disgusted. I was completely over it and ready to leave, as was my mom. Just wish we could have gotten at least one refill on our drinks. My tea was completely empty which was pretty easy to see since it is in a clear glass, but she never came over with a coffee or tea pitcher. What a waste of $5 for 2 drinks! Next time the lady who we assumed was or waitress walked by our table, we asked her for the check. She sat it down and didn't say anything! Not a "thank you", or "I appreciate your patience", or "have a nice day", nothing! I have served for 6 years and have gotten my head chewed off for stuff a lot smaller than this, for things that were out of my control so she was lucky because I wouldn't treat anyone like that knowing what it feels. Although I kind of wish I wasn't so polite and patient since she apparently didn't deserve that. Her service was unacceptable! We will never eat at not only this dennys again, but all dennys! We had been I MEAN HAD!!! Regulars at this Denny's. No More. Just left there. I called earlier to see if they have clam chowder. YES WE DO!! We went ordered a BOWL OF CLAM CHOWDER and NACHOS My husband ordered a sandwich. Took forever but we were not in a hurry. I had asked for my Nachos in a to go box. The KID waiter brings me this cold bowl of chicken noodle soup. Sloppy spoon drowned in the soup. NO crackers. And this pathetic looking Tortilla chips with a dab of meat a little melted cheese tomatoes IN A PLATE NOT TO GO BOX. Pathetic look on his face explaining that the Cook doesnot speak ENGLISH so he didnot know what he meant to go box so decided to give them on a plate. THIS TYPE OF COMMUNICATION WITH THE CUSTOMERS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! HOW does he work with a non English speaking cook and get his orders in ???? Is it policy to blame your coworkers for your mistake? Oh I said this is NOT clam chowder. I know he said but we are making it now so I brought you this-instead so you won't have to wait!!!!!!!!! WHAT? He decided to give me what he wants not what I asked for??? Didnot give me the option to decide!!!! Then avoided us like the plague. Never checked if we needed anything. We finally got up n headed to the register and then the kid followed us that is when I decided to say something. I was ready to throw up I was so pissed . Manager never once checked on us either. Went in to have breakfast around 9:30. There were 3 other people that sat down before us. My husband asked for coffee and I asked for hot tea. The cups were dirty with coffee stains all around. When the waitress came take our order, we mentioned that we would like some clean cups. She got defensive and said that they were scratched and not dirty. After telling her that they were dirty and yes scratched, she bright us some clean cups. In the meantime there were about 4 other tables that came had been filled. 30 minutes later all 4 other tables (all who came in after us, and had more people at their tables) had received their food. In the meantime, my husband and I had not received our food. We got up and told the waitress that we would like our check for our drinks. She yells to the back to cancel our order. As we are paying the cooks are back their laughing and waving goodbye to us. We did speak to the manager and she wanted us to sit back down and still have our breakfast and she would take care of us herself. My family loves Denny's, but our experience at this Denny's was horrible. Our food took forever, and when we finally got it, it was cold. The lettuce in my salad was slimy and rotten. My daughter didn't get her pancakes and when they finally came, they were so hard she had to cut them with a knife. We assumed they had warmed them up from that morning. The waitress and the manager both seemed annoyed that I was picking the rotten slimy pieces of salad out, and offered to remake the salad for me. I was concerned that they would just give me the same rotten salad they had in the back. If they had fresh salad, they would have served it in the first place. They did not offer any kind of discount or anything. I can't believe we paid what we did for that meal. This is the first time I have ever complained about a restaurant, and the first time I gave a server only 10% tip. I used to wait tables and I am a very generous tipper. Avoid this Denny's.
