Typical Denny's, they were out of first 3 items i asked for. Service was there but slow. Got the country fried steak, gravy was very thin and very skimpy. French fries & broccoli were good. The garlic bread was mushy and just plain nasty. Unfortunately my last 4 times at Dennys has been very unsatisfactory, (3 different locations) they were either out of what i ordered, or i got food that was not good at all. We stopped here on Christmas morning for breakfast on the way up to my parent's house. We were definitely not the only ones who decided to do this and the place was pretty hoppin when we got there. Sadly, the experience was not the typical Denny's experience. I usually have no problems with Denny's and expect my food to be good for what it is. This time was actually mildly disappointing. The coffee wasn't that great (though I got decaf, so maybe it was just the decaf). The waitress at one point started to fill my husband's coffee cup with decaf, then remembered he had regular, said oops and filled it the rest of the way with regular. It pretty much ruined the taste of his coffee. He ordered a Grand Slam and I got a 'Build your own Slam'. The hash browns weren't cooked enough, nor were they seasoned at all. I added salt to mine and I never salt my food. Ever. The bacon was really....floppy? It was just not that great, really fatty and not cooked well. My eggs were really good, but the waitress/kitchen staff got my order wrong twice before they figured it out. It was a really disappointing experience at an average restaurant chain. It was probably even more disappointing because it was Christmas morning. I wish we had gone to a different breakfast place. read more

Once seated, our waitress started off by telling us "I can't take your food orders yet, but can I get you beverages?". This Denny's used to be good. The servers here I'm sad to say are just trash. Our food was not hot off the grill and our server was very rude to us she didn't take care of her customers. We stopped here on our way out of town. They had a sign asking for patience because they are short staffed. We got seated right away. Our server Aleysha A came to our table pretty quickly. We placed our drink orders and we went ahead and placed our food order since we figured there would be a wait. We did have to wait for a bit but once our food came it was delicious. Aleysha was not only serving but she was also helping the cook. We were here on Sunday 11-8-20---they have new items on the menu so we decided to try the fish-----it was gross---nothing like the picture shows of it--it just looked like old frozen fish patties---plus we had to wait 50 minutes on our food and it was not good! The manager who was on duty was one of the ones in the kitchen cooking---really? And they couldn't get the food out in a timely matter? The place was not at all busy either so there was no excuse for this!!! We won't be back here again and when they close the doors because of the awful food and service no one should be surprised!!! Never again, wish i could give 1 star. Walked in, and sat in the waiting area for 20 min waiting to get seated. During that time 4 couples walked out, 1 of them had even ordered their food and left complaining that they had been waiting for their food for 40 min and didn't want it anymore. Meanwhile the 2 waitresses stood chatting behind the bar area. When the entrance was full with 6 more couples waiting for a table the rudest waitress I've had the misfortune to meet walked to all of us and with the worst possible attitude informed us all that they were very busy and to not expect to get to order for at least 20 min because she had things to do and tables to clean and no time to take care of more customers (they only had 3 tables occupied). Needless to say, we walked out. I hope this location closes and a more competent restaurant takes its place. I for once, would rather starve than to have to put up with this place. read more

THis place is horrible. Every time I come here it's the same problems. You sand to wait to be seated and all the employees just look at you and Walk past you. You dont even know who to talk to about getting seated. Second issue is that the employees who work the evening shift seem to be in complete disarray and confused about what's going on. I've been to this Truck Stop Denny's 5-6x now, so I think I'm finally able to write a review and I won't be going back. It's not the food...it's typical Denny's food and I actually like having breakfast at most Denny's. This one is not one of them. It's insanely slow. The service is below average. For ex: you have to ask for refills on your beverages by waiving someone over or pointing out that you'd like some more water when they ask how you're doing. I've also ordered an appetizer 3x and it either doesn't come at all or it is brought out with your meal. Basically, they take your drink order and then your meal and you won't see them again until 30mins later when your appetizer and meal arrive at once. And if you forget to ask for your refill once they dump your food and run, you'll be waiting another 15 for them to drop off your check and ask how everything was. It wasn't even that busy this last time... I have no idea where my server was. And again, this wasn't the first time I've experienced the same service. If you like Denny's food and you don't mind mediocre service, this place is for you. If you have small hungry children or you're in a hurry, look elsewhere. We have been to this place several times in the past . We went tonight and was so disappointed. My wife ordered the fit meal breakfast. When she got the waitress kinda dropped it down and started to take off . I instantly said what is that she said it's what she ordered and we both said not hardly . What they brought was one slice of Turkey bacon and 1 scrambled egg white . She thought this what was ordered . We asked where my wife's muffin was and she said it's on the way . She brought it and ig was a regular english muffin. My wife is allergic to gluten . We had specifically asked 4 times for the gluten free muffin . We had to have her look at the menu to prove what my wife got wasn't what she ordered . After all this she informed us that they didn't have gluten free muffins .If that wasn't bad enough our silverware was greasy so we asked for different she got an attitude and said I'll just bring YOU plastic silverware. And she did . Then proceeded to handle each piece of it lol . I asked why we got plastic and she said because they were waiting on their delivery truck . No idea what the hell that meant . I took my family to this restaurant and we waited a hour for our food. When I got our food, my wife's eggs where cold, the potato's where not done, the bacon was cold along with the sausage. My food was the Buffalo chicken, which they used chicken strips, my Onion rings were soggy, and I had an order of fries which where Luke warm. My kids had two kids slams and they were like my wife's food, it was super unacceptable. We had a solid experience here this morning. The one downside to our experience was that the restaurant was not as clean as it could be, and seemed chatoic at times, but this has far exceeded our experience for other breakfast locations such as Bob Evans and IHOP. The huge bonus that we had here as opposed to everywhere else was that the food was hot and didn't take forever to get out to us. We felt that there was at least some seasoning to the items and that the food was cooked properly. We both noticed the tanginess of the buttermilk in the pancakes, which was a pleasant highlight to our breakfast. Our server was polite and made sure that we were taken care of, and did not bother us with unnecessary check-ins or questions. We did end up waiting a few minutes to pay because we were not sure how to end our visit, not being properly advised to return to the front counter to pay...as we had not eaten at a Denny's in several years. Overall, this was worth the drive out of town in order to bypass the other poorer options nearby. Don't expect a stellar experience from this place, but don't walk in expecting to be let down either. read more

First of all we waited about 15 mins to get our drinks then over an hour to get our food while people that came in after us got what they ordered, then the salad we got wasn't right at all, I ordered a chicken sandwich tossed in BBQ when it was brought to the table it was covered in Buffalo sauce, they offered to remake the food and when they brought it out it was the right order but it was fried to the point of you touched it, it fell apart in your fingers, the waiter then picked it up and started pulling the food apart. I asked for a manager because we were not about to pay for that food and the waiter got extremely defensive when I asked for a manager saying we don't know what goes on in the back and all the orders they are taking care of, (I have 5 years in the food industry) then the waiter proceeded to throw away our other meal that we paid for that was in a to-go box and got a really bad attitude trying to start a fight with us. So I never got my food and the other food that we paid for was thrown away by the waiter! I have never dealt with such bad service in my life. The waiter was too into watching the football game that was on tv and didn't check on anyone he was waiting on the entire time we were in there! I would not recommend anyone to ever go here and I will never give them my service again not to mention the manager was very rude towards me as well and sided with the waiter!! To say the least there is more I could add to this but I'll leave it at that I think you'll get the point with just that being added! Breakfast is fabulous here at Denny's. The aroma of syrup and eggs will bring you back to simpler times. Personally it takes me back to my days as a Caterpillar. Inching my way around, chomping on leafs. We all wish we can go back in time, and at Denny's, you can. I think theres an actual time machine. The booths are roomy and have enough space for my wings. Most restaurants I go to discriminate me, just because I classify as a butterfly. The syrup is smooth enough to slide up my straw-like mouth. The waiters and waitresses treat me like everyone else, even though it is strange to see a 5' Butterfly sitting in a booth. However, I slightly suspect a heist. A lot of suspicious activity in the back, but it could have just been the cooks making food. Just watch out. My antenna sense something a little suspicious each time I go, but the happiness I feel overpowers my suspicions. Come to Denny's. Ask for the time machine. read more

We got there at 10pm on a Friday night, only two other families in the restaurant. It took them 30 minutes to cook our food and it sat in the window for 10 minutes while other servers walked past it. I guess our server was on break. When we went to check out the Manager (short blonde, with a tattoo on the back of her neck) asked how everything was, I said " the food was okay (which it was), but the service was slow", her response to that was, "What do you mean, how fast we cooked it." "Yes" "That will be $31.63." End of conversation, no explanation, no apology, nothing. Stopped in for a late breakfast with 3 other friends on Sunday 6/16. We were seated relatively quickly. The restaurant was busy, but not overly so. The waitress took our drink order after about 10 minutes of sitting there. After we got our drinks, it was another 30 minutes with NO communication from our waitress before I had to flag her down and request that she take our order. We ordered and after ANOTHER 30 minutes, we flagged her down again to complain and all we got was "Sorry, we're busy." as a reply. After being there for an hour and fifteen minutes, we walked to the front, paid for our drinks and walked out of there. Absolutely the WORST service I've ever had, ANYWHERE. Also, the design of the Denny's/Flying J was done by a blind man. Unless you know to pull a U-turn at the truck entrance, you are going to spend some time trying to figure out how to get to the restaurant. Someone needs to take over and fix everything about this restaurant, because there is nothing redeeming about it. read more

Pretty lousy food. I've had much better at other Denny's locations. The waitress was snarky, responding to comments by my companion (a former Flying J's waitress) by becoming less and less pleasant. Her favorite method of displaying temper was by humming loudly and tapping her fingernails loudly on the counter. She had to be reminded to bring my coffee (which for "fresh brewed" was incredibly stale and burnt tasting). Her demeanor alone would take 2 stars off the rating. This is November 10th and the day that Denny's honors veterans with a free slam. Unfortunately, you have to order a specific slam - one where you piece together what you want included. I did not realize that and ordered a slam from the menu. The veteran sitting next to me did not know the rule but by accident ordered the "build it yourself" or whatever that slam is called. His was free. Mine, which cost exactly the same, got me a 10% discount. In my humble opinion, that is crazy to say you can get a meal for free but then put stupid restrictions on which slam qualifies. Quite frankly, this does not make this veteran feel very appreciated and probably will not have me returning to this Denny's and perhaps none at all. read more

I am a little embarrassed that I like Denny's. I am basically a healthy eater, like exotic foods and spices, Typically I prefer upscale restaurants with creative menus. However, I always enjoy a meal at Denny's. I wish there was one in Dublin or the Polaris area. Since there is not, the closest Denny's to me is the one on St Rd 37 at Hwy 71. I always used to go prepared to enjoy the food, but to be annoyed. It is practically impossible to get a hostess to seat you. I don't know where they hide, but it is certainly where they can not observe customers arriving. At the end of a meal it is equally as difficult to get someone to show up at the cash register to take payment for the meal. The servers I have had have always been very nice and for the most part reliable and available. Since I like eating at Denny's, my solution to my annoyance is to immediately grab a menu and seat myself as soon as I arrive. I make myself known to the first server that walks within range of me. At the end of the meal when the server checks in to see if I need more coffee or anything else I give them my credit card and ask s/he to please pay my bill for me. While they do not typically do this, I have never been refused. So, now I can eat at Denny's without feeling frustrated and annoyed about their obvious lack of quality customer service -- well, of any customer service at all. I do have to say that I always enjoy my meal which is usually some form of breakfast. read more
