Worst dennys experience ever. This is the 2nd time at this dennys I've had bad service. I place 2 orders to go and had to send em back 4 times. And the 4th time they still weren't right. I just left and gave the food away. Never will I go back there again. Simple ordered and they couldn't remember. Here's a thought WRITE IT DOWN!!!!!. I wanted to talk to a manager but I knew my temper was gonna get the best of me. One thing I have a hard time dealing with is incompetence and this store is full of it. My family and I showed up around 2am for suhoor and were greeted by the kindest server. Considering it was so late and we were five people, Wesley (the name on the receipt at least) was so friendly and made sure all of our food was fresh. Of all the times I've gone to Denny's, this time in the middle of the night it was the freshest food I've ever been served there. There really isn't much room to comment on the food at Denny's as it is a franchise and all locations are the same. We usually come to Denny's for a quick and cheap breakfast on Saturday mornings when I'm just too lazy to cook. Since my son and I both don't really eat much, we'll usually order a Value slam which consists of 2 pancakes, eggs and bacon for about 7 bucks. I add on a side of bacon for my little carnivore and hashbrowns for me, because - y'know, carbs. A coffee and kids OJ will bring this total to just under 20 bucks. This location is usually very busy around 9-11 AM so if you want a quieter less bustling experience, be an early bird. The servers and hostess' are very nice and do an okay job of coming by to check everything is ok. This time around we waited a good 15-20 minutes to get the check. This Dennys used to be great. Went in with my family and was greeted by a blond waitress with a nose piercing. She sat us down for our drinks, then completely ignored us for about 20 minutes, maybe more. I finally decided it was obvious she was purposely ignoring our table. I noticed other caucasian families had no problems with her checking on them and welcoming them in, however; we were never even glanced at or considered so I decided we needed to leave and asked for our bill, which she gladly was willing to help us with so she wouldn't have to deal with us. She is a horrible waitress and person and I wish segregation wasn't a thing but it obviously is with her. Very horrible and unfortunate experience with her. read more

This is the best Denny's in Bakersfield. The food and service are always top notch, and the restaurant is spotless. Ralphie (one of the chefs), always cooks the best omelettes, sandwiches, and skillets for us. All the servers are super nice, helpful, and attentive. I had an absolutely wild experience here. My organization ordered 14 breakfasts in advance for pickup for girls who earned a lock-in as a reward for hard work. The receipt said that I didn't even need the order number--so why did they not honor my order when I showed 5 different employees my receipt? And to have the audacity to ask if I had any other receipts?! Theeeeenn they wouldn't even fulfill the order! I wasted my time and money just for them to say that yes, they see we have paid for our food, but they couldn't do anything about it because they didn't have a ticket come through. They just suggested trying to get a refund on the website. Also didn't appreciate multiple employees trying to gaslight me into thinking it was for a different location or the nasty attitudes--of the blonde server with a sleeve in particular. Went into this location the other day started off, kind of slow as we did have to wait, even though there wasn't many customers the young lady seated us our waitress was Sonia and let me tell you everything about this service was exceptional because of her they even messed up on my order she got it fixed with speed. My drink never went dry. I'm kind of picky so I know I was a little difficult but she handled it like a pro. She definitely saved the experience. The atmosphere is Denny's American breakfast but she made it worthwhile. We will definitely be going back because of Sonia. She is definitely one of the good ones there. The food sucked! I ordered the Mac n cheese with the meat tips and 3 onion rings . It looked like cheese sauce slop with no pasta . The meat with tiny and undercooked.. the tall skinny guy with the long chin braid in the back cooking kept yelling and cursing the manager looking Mexican guy kept making sexual moans to the young girl seating and serving ...it was quite gross they kept getting the girl next to us order wrong ... they kept yelling across the room and asking what time it was and more cursing .. just a bad experience over all . Very disappointing, although the food was very good. The service was not very pleasant, my family and i felt discriminated, everything was well at first, we came in then the sever brought our drinks, then the food came and we had ordered two sides of something, but we only got one. Then when I asked for the second one it took like 10 minutes and she would somewhat avoid us. She then brought a cup of water and we said we didn't order the water and then she left. After she told us something about the side and then I said we didn't want it and she seemed very annoyed. She somewhat left us talking to ourselves and then the check came out and we had two of the sides, but we had only gotten one. Came in late tonight around 3am craving some French Toast, dennys French toast is pretty delicious, this time I ordered different, I asked for a special request, if the French toasts could be made with cinnamon sugar, the chef tonight ( I don't want to butcher his name but it starts with an A ) said that they don't offer French toast that way but that he found the idea interesting and would give it a try, and omg he perfected my image! Our waitress, Journey, was so nice and very helpful. My son was being a brat and she was very attentive and sweet to him. She made light conversation with my wife and I which was also nice considering we came in very early morning at 4:30am. It was a busy ambiance night @Denny's, there were 3 servers only on a Fully pack restaurant. (Due to some School Graduation ceremony's) I can see the staff running and trying to cope with the busy demands of customers. I was seated after 25 minutes of waiting, another 20 minutes to order from the server. 25 minutes later I was eating my order for the night, T bone with eggs and pan cakes. The thinly cut T bone is not as tender as I expected, eggs and pancakes are good. Overall, it was an experience that I don't want to be in. read more

I like this Denny's. I've eaten here a number of times and always return, so far. Concerning the menu, specifically the narrative description of 1) the over 55 menu's salmon listed at $10.99, and 2) the almost identically described narrative on the Alaska salmon for $14.99, the servers need to ascertain which is being ordered. It's almost impossible to distinguish between the two. Recommend Denny's amend this. Service is always attentive. Food served hot and tasty. Access is good. Parking very good. Clean. Quiet.
