Denny's - Fit Slam - Diners Near Me - Antioch, California

I did call in for pick up for Fathers Day. The manager took my order, very respectful and clear when taking my order. Food was ready on time, with all the utensils and condiments included. I ordered the family grand slam work extra doses of pancakes for a family of 5. They even prepared the hash browns as I requested of lightly cooked. I had a real positive experience... felt compelled to share because their Yelp reviews are so poor. read more

Had to get labs done so the hubby decided to give this place another chance. We got here before 9am. Took about 5 mins to get seated. We then sat for another 10 mins before anyone came to take our drink order, by then we were ready to order. Once our order was placed we waited another 10 mins for our drinks, 15 mins after that we got our food. Not only was the wait ridiculous but my husbands food came cold. Took 5 mins for her to come back and bring the rest of my breakfast. When she was told that his food was cold she replied that it was taken as soon as it was cooked but took his food back to be remade. 5 more mins and part of his food came but she had took his silverware with the original plate. Currently waiting for his pancakes. (Original order was so cold the butter wouldnt melt) Unfortunately we probably will go to the Dennys on somersville from now on. read more

Denny's has been around forever. It's good for an occasional late night meal. They used to have many specials available. I've noticed that their prices have gone up since the pandemic. Breakfast any time of day is a plus! read more

The pictures speak for themselves. Only thing that I "personalized" are the eggs (over easy instead of sunny side up and glaze sauce on the side instead of on the meat). The service was m'eh too. Still hungry... read more

Just went to this location with my brother and sister-in-law. We sat down, ordered some milkshakes, and talked while waiting for the waitress. Quickly after ordering our food, I overheard the table behind me talking to the manager about bugs in their food. After the manager walked away, I turned around and asked the customers if I had heard correctly. They confirmed that they found ants in their skillet plate, and gnats in her salad. The manager, while talking to the customers about the situation, said their "ant situation was really bad" and that they were "everywhere." After hearing this, we paid for our milkshake and told the manager we would not be eating there. I'm not sure I'll ever return to this Dennys location. Major health code violation. Yuck. read more

I went to get something to eat on my way home from work. As soon as I get there a woman greeted me with attitude. Saying "how many?" I replied- just myself. She told me to sit any where I want so I went to a table were the sun don't get in my face but it was dirty. Me trying to be nice I didn't mind to clean the table I chose so I went to asked for a rag to clean the table. She looked at me saying "can you sit somewhere else please? I chose another table and was dirty as well. I went and asked for a rag for second time but she raised her voice and told me "can you wait then? I m by myself and I can't do everything at the same time!" I was very surprised for her reaction. I didn't say anything but it really bothers me the way I was treated. I don't know who the manager is but as a restaurant manager myself I know customers can't be treated like that, second, regardless who she is or what position she held if she has a morning shift right when she start first thing she should do is check the tables if the tables have the condiments and if they are clean and if she use her "experience" or at least her common sense and she knows she is by herself she should do some roll ups and placed some menus so people won't bother her at the time people started coming to the restaurant at least while the co workers coming to give her a hand. Her behavior was unacceptable and is nobody's fault she is by herself or not, as customer I don't have to pay for her frustrations or hormonal problems! read more

I haven't been to this Denny's for a few months, due to lack of staff, but I did revisit this Denny's a couple night ago, and I am glad I did. The sweetest server I have encountered in a long time. Her name is Veronica and due to her enthusiasm and kindness, I will be back. She definitely is a valuable asset to the restaurant. The food was nicely plated and cooked well. Nice job! read more

Breakfast was nearly perfect today. Only complaint is: the sausage links were cold. Otherwise, everything was good. It was clean and the cooks were having a good ol time in the kitchen . .laughing. read more

The service was no good. They took forever to get out food. There's wasn't much people there for them to be so slow. They need to get new workers who want to work and not lazy ones. I wouldn't recommend this place at all!!! read more

I prefer this location over the other one location in Antioch. Currently there is inside and outside seating. The food is pretty good and very fairly priced, especially for those on a budget like myself. We went later in the day and I think Tatiana was her name, but she was so sweet and very attentive to our needs. The other lady working, Slavona, was also nice. Good service and good food. read more

Went into the restaurant with some coworkers after work a few days ago to get dinner and it was great service! Our server John did an excellent job bringing out everything we needed and didn't forget a thing! I would give this restaurant 5 stars but my only qualms are that the restaurant had a strange odor when we first walked in, almost like a dirty bathroom or a dumpster. But we didn't smell it from our seat so that was a plus! And the bathroom only worked in one stall; the stall that worked had a like 40 second flush it was nuts almost like a tornado read more

We order for pickup on a fairly regular basis, and we don't usually have any problems. This time, my eggs were significantly undercooked, we're missing an order of pancakes, I ordered sausage and got bacon, and the Philly cheesesteak omelet was missing the vegetables. Overall, very disappointing today. read more

The worst Denny's I've ever been to and I've been to a lot. 2 weeks ago, I ordered the fit slam and the egg whites were oily and mushy, and the English muffin was burned. Today I ordered the chicken cranberry salad and trust me Wendy's is better. They give you 2 lbs of lettuce, half a boiled egg, and half a grilled chicken breast. I asked to pay for the other half of my egg and chicken and was told by the manager Christina that the other half of the egg was $1.99, the other half of the chicken $3.49. I'm never returning to this location again. Save yourself the time and money and go to the one on Somerville. read more

This isn't about the food. I worked at a Denny's when I was in college so I know what to expect from their food. I love their chicken noodle soup especially on a gloomy day like today which is I came but I never even sat down. I'm giving 2 stars because it's a holiday and it was busy and I remember how stressful those days can be. However, they may want to consider going over how to address customers. As I said it was busy but it was just me as I was killing time until I met my friend at the movie theater so I asked if I could sit at the counter which was empty. The young lady kinda sighed as though I were putting her out and then kinda gruffly said "Fine. But it's going to be a while until I can get to you." Alrighty then. Look, you're busy I get it. However I was made to feel completely unwelcome so I left. That was likely what the young lady wanted. One less customer to have to deal with. I'm just saying there are ways to let people know that there is going to be a wait without making them feel like they've just trespassed and need to leave. read more

Where is a zero star when it is beyond deserved?! We showed up around 2am and got sat by the manager. Our server never showed his face for 15 minutes but made eye contact with me more than once. We stood up and were going to walk out but i made it a point to confront our blatantly incompetent server. All he had were rediculous excuses. Oh i didnt see you...dude you MADE EYE CONTACT WITH ME MORE THAN ONCE. Then my wife chimed in..oh i didnt know you were ready...well the manager sat you. Nothing but sad excuses from a new kid. Pathetic. This dennys is a joke. read more

**One star for my server** Took my kids here for lunch and RUBI was our server. I don't know if she has any personal issues, on the rag, or Denny's made a bad choice for hiring her. She was unpleasant towards me, those eyes can kill a roach crawling by. If management is reading this, fix customer service issues ASAP. No wonder it wasn't busy at all during supposedly "rush hour". read more

So my pops (God bless his heart) had a standard medical procedure done the other day. I won't say it out loud, but it requires one to carry a strict diet for about 4 days, tapering to a clear liquid diet the day before and drinking a gallon of electrolyte solution and going to the john every 5 minutes. Makes me glad I can wait 25 more years to have this procedure if yayadaimean. After essentially fasting for the past 24 hours, my pops was hankering for a fulfilling, greasy breakfast. What better place than a Lumberjack Slam from Dennys? Needless to say, my dad killed the whole thing. As for me, I sighed thinking I had to succumb to eating a plate of grease that was going to sabotage my healthy streak. But fear not! The Build Your Own Slam option is chalk-full of healthy options. So I got two egg whites, turkey bacon, hash brown, and a cup of fruit. Everything was delish and didn't leave me with a speck of regret. Our waitress Cyndi (Yes, like Lauper) was super nice. I was familiar with her since used to work at IHOP in Pittsburg, so when I saw she was our waitress, I cheered internally. She was on point with everything.....refilling our coffee cups, bringing everything out in a timely manner, and checking in on us frequently. Yay for Denny's....cheap breakfasts that don't leave me feeling like a heffalump afterwards. read more

I had to fast the other morning to take my glucose screening test for gestational diabetes. Meaning test to see if I may be diabetic while pregnant. So the night before I knew that as soon as my test was done I was going to Denny's and I was going to get Pancakes. By the way, there is no IHOP in Antioch. I really wanted IHOP Blueberry Pancakes but no such luck. Denny's was my best second choice. Since I was by myself I saddled up to the bar counter in the front. Service was kind of slow because I don't think they really narrowed down who was supposed to cover that section. I ordered a "Build Your Own Slam". Four items for around $7. I got Two Pancakes, Hash browns extra crispy, Two Sausages and Scrambled Eggs. My Sausage was cold. The Hash browns were cooked perfectly. The Pancakes were good but kind of tough and really didn't meet my expectations. The Scrambled Eggs were perfect too. They seemed to have made an upgrade to their Sausages because I remember them being in a harder casing and kind of tough last time. These were not in a casing and of a much better quality. Unfortunately they were served cold. After starving all morning I really wanted better but what I got was OK. I do love Denny's though. Maybe next time Ill get a Moon's Over My Hammy. What a stupid name for such a delicious dish? read more

It was around midnight and we realized after coming home from date night how hungry we were. Not feeling like drive thru anything I suggested we order Denny's to go! In a blurry haze we order so much food we are not sure what we are going to end up with but when we got it home it was ALL good. Steak that, I kid you not, you could cut with their plastic knife, chicken tenders that were not overly deep fried, pancakes and sausage that made me laugh in the face of weight watchers and shrimp on a skewer that had a yummy grilled buttery garlic flavor. I don't kow what went wrong to bring our bill to less than 40.00 but I'm certainly not going to complain! As my husband and I settled in at our table over our paper cups, plastic utensils and strofoam containers piled high with midnight munchies we had to agree that "life is good...." read more

My second time going here since the turnover to corporate. I just needed to give a star so I can write a review. It always takes them forever to notice you or maybe they simply ignore you. I don't know what's up with them. We were sitting for like 30mins already and no one even came to check up on us. They were completely ignoring us. It wasn't busy and they were walking like supermodel. A girl named veronica (the newer one I believe so) was just walking passed by us she even smile but didn't even bother to see whats up after she grab the drinks from 2 tables near us. I needed to call the attention of someone to get our orders and drinks. I am really not going back here. And I know that when people who works here read this review they won't even care and will be like "then don't come back" but I wish that you will improve not only your service but everything. read more

Middle of the night and the wife was craving a hot fudge brownie with vanilla ice-cream after a good work out..... Denny's is open, got there and it was cool yo find the place packed with people not only inside but the parking lot had people just chillin. I ordered to go and added some small nachos, the manager hooked up a large order....... It was great!!!!! Decided to go the next morning with family and it was packed again. A lot of wrong and not a lot of right. No silverware. Order was missing. No coffee refills. I can take into consideration that it is middle of morning, but no matter what time it is, service should not be that bad. Will consider other options before coming here. read more

The location is nice here. I'm just not a big fan of their food. The only reason I use to come here is because it was close to my alma mater and after performances, games and dances, my friends and I would come here. I don't suggest the hash browns from this place. I took my wife out to dinner on Wednesday around 8:00pm. Our was park in the front handicap spot close to the street and someone broke into it. Stole my wife purse witch was on the floor board behind the passenger seat. They broke the rear driver door glass. Ask for a copy of the tape from there front camera still waiting on it. To top it off the Antioch Pd would not send anyone out to take a report even know it had pain medication in her purse. I told to file a report online. Long story short: This ended my love for Denny's pretty quick. Hard harshbrowns. So hard I choked on them and saw the light... and yes, I did chew it. 2 LONG HAIRS in my pancakes when I asked her for another stack she told me that I'd have to PAY for another stack. Never coming back. read more

This is one of the better Denny's locations in the area. The one in Somersville is...ghetto. There are not that many 24 hour places to eat in the antioch/brentwood area. When it is 2am and I am feeling hungry, Denny's definitely hits the spot. The food is decent and so are the prices. $2, $4, $6, $8 menu have a lot of selections. I love how some of the appetizers have a half order available so you can get a smaller portion for less. Staff is usually friendly and very attentive. Minus one star because sometimes they are inconsistent with the food they bring out. Sometimes I would get the nachos, my usual order, coming in with different kind of cheese and different portions even though I order it all the time. And sometimes they give a small glass for the water and when it is busy, the servers can't always come to the table to refill the water when we need it. So yeah, other than that, it's a 24 hour spot in this part of town that doesn't break the bank. 4 stars. read more

Great service from Ana today for breakfast 1/25/14. Ana had a smile on her face and she was very attentive. The bathroom was clean which I have never seen at a Denny's so I was pleasantly surprised. The food wasn't the best we've had (poached eggs were over cooked and boyfriend's blueberry pancake puppies were in the fryer a bit too long) but all in all, it was an a-ok breakfast and a nice start to our day. I would revisit this Denny's if in the area. read more
