I will come back again with my father. I am only docking a star for the restrooms. The men's restroom was not fully cleaned. Unfortunately, this visit was not reflective of the quality we usually experience here. After being seated, we waited approximately 20 minutes without receiving any drinks, and no one checked in on us during that time. This was especially disappointing, as other guests who arrived after us were served their drinks and meals before we were acknowledged. We understand that the restaurant can get busy, and this location is typically very good with attentive service. However, due to the lack of attention during this visit, we ultimately decided to leave. Dissapointesd to say the least! Of all the Black Bear Diners Ive been to across NoCal this has by far been the worst. Stopped in for lunch w/ my brother. We we heavily rushed throughout our time here. Rushed to be seated, rushed to order, rushed to eat, rushed to pack up unfinished food (we weren't done yet!), rushed to pay. Mind you we got in about 11am. We weren't even there a full hour start to finish. Its 12pm and we've been back since 1145am. Food was just okay nothing special, could've been a bit better. Staff was too busy socializing with each other a waitresses husband at the counter. The restroom is nownear as nice as any other BB Diner I've ever been to, its run down looking and gross, the water pressure is crazy (unintentionally soaked my shirt). I literally want to give negative 3 stars. It wa terrible. I will never go to this location again. read more

It's Valentine's Day, and we treated ourselves to takeout from Black Bear Diner. To order online is very easy. The process is not confusing, and you can select items from their menu. We ordered their mini Volcano. We got our online order exactly the time it was promised to us. We don't have to wait for the order to come out once we get to the counter. The pancake is fluffy and huge. They came with sausage and eggs. This meal is big and will energize you. If you don't want to dine in and opt for their online to-go orders, Black Bear has excellent service. read more

Ooo you got to try the Tri tip dip sandwich from here! It is so tasty and The Aus Jus is delicious too. The meat is thin and cooked perfectly and you can add cheese and grilled onions for an extra charge so worth it. You get a good portion too I usually save half for later. The onion rings are nice and fresh and crunchy. The staff is friendly and seem to know their regulars pretty well. More of an older crowd but I am not mad about it. I absolutely love Black Bear Diner. I've been at this location around three or four times, I think? Fantastic food and hearty portions for my fat ass every single time. That's enough of a sample size for me to give a good review. Chances are that you'll usually come here for breakfast, AS YOU SHOULD, but don't sleep on their non-breakfast items. The Bob's Big Bear Burger is my favorite diner burger and it's huge. It can easily give you two meals but I like to eat it in one seating, as God intended. I also recommend the meatloaf, which I normally wouldn't do at most restaurants. Hell, even the chicken tenders are solid. I also like to have the bottomless raspberry sweet tea with my meals here. That's good stuff, pal. The place can get busy from my experience during breakfast hours but it's been quiet when I came here for lunch and especially dinner. I've only ever come here on weekdays though so it might be busier during weekends. Regardless of how busy they are, the workers always moved fast and were always good about making sure I had my raspberry iced tea on hand. I've never had a negative experience here and will continue to come here in the future. read more

You come to a restaurant for the food, but come back if the service is on point. Tonight, we got the one of the best servers, Raymond. Not only was he personable and professional, he was fun, tentative and wanted to please. You could tell he was not there for the ole' mighty tip, he enjoyed what he was doing. I asked to speak to the manager, Gina B. to let her know of our experience and she was just as pleasant. They make sure that you get what you ask for and if you're not satisfied, they try their best to resolve it. They're friendly and kind. It's a very big restaurant well lit offering positive vibes. The serving sizes are huge. We've been going there so long my husband gets an item that's not on the menu. It's a ground a scramble with spinach and mushrooms on top of the bed of hashbrowns or potatoes can be substituted. It comes with your slice of toast, pancake, or waffle. I get the build your own and typically eat their delicious and thick slice bacon. I tried the waffle for the first time and telling her it is now one of my favorites. read more

Every time we come here, the service is always good. I always loved the whole cabin diner decor also! We came for breakfast this morning and Evelyn helped us. She's always so sweet and friendly! The portions are always big unless you get the "Little Less" which is perfect for the smaller appetites. Our breakfast was yummy! We also got the Fall special pumpkin pancakes. This was one of the worst service experiences I have encountered. My family, a party of 10, was treated unfairly. We were initially given a reasonable estimated wait time; however, as time passed, multiple parties were seated ahead of us. We approached the staff several times and were repeatedly told the same initial wait time. We remained patient, despite seeing numerous groups being called in. On our third inquiry, we were told there were not enough waiters available. This explanation was confusing, as parties of 5, 6, and 3 were seated, which collectively exceeded the size of our group. We came on a Monday at 1:20pm, first impression was great and first time dining at a black bear diner. The decorations were really cute & there was a little gift shop to the side when you walk in to the restaurant. We got seated quickly with a smile from the host. The menus were on a piece of newspaper and they had a sign stating their specials for the day. Our waitress came and took our drink orders first and was very pleasant to talk to. I asked if I can add some substitutes to my meal and she said yes. I ordered the prime rib with sunny side up eggs, creamy grits, white country gravy on the side, and my husband ordered the baby burn chicken fried steak & eggs biscuit. The orange juice was definitely fresh, I can taste the pulp and fresh squeezed taste of the orange. Waitress added a paper straw without me even asking for it which was awesome and appreciated. They had condiments: Tabasco (yay), ketchup, sugar free syrup, three of the black bear diner's version of sauces. My husband loved the chicken and potatoes were delicious. The prime rib was dry and I would just consider it tasteless but having the white country gravy on top of the rib was delicious. The creamy grits were really good and I appreciated the presentation on my meal (orange slice) the biscuit was humongous but really good too. Soft in the inside and the shell was hard but perfect.
