Decided to go for dinner last night. The seating was outdoors, so I was a bit hesitant at first since it was very cold. However, I am so glad we stayed! The staff turned the heating lamps on for us making it very comfortable and warm. The food was amazing! We had the brisket, pork belly and bugolgi. Everything was fresh and delicious! Marinated perfectly, not too salty. My favorite part were the side dishes. Every banchan that came out was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. There was such a perfect balance of crunchy, savory, tangy, and comforting flavors, and everything paired beautifully with the grilled meats. Some of the side dishes we had were: kimchi, spicy cucumber salad, seasoned spinach, green onion pancake, a glass noodle dish, potatoes in a sweet glaze, stir-fried fish cake and my absolute favorite! Pickled radish. What really made the experience special was how kind and attentive the staff was. Our waitress took the time to explain how to properly enjoy the pork belly, wrapping it in the pickled radish and pairing it with the sauces and sides. That little bit of guidance made the meal feel more authentic and even more enjoyable. Between the delicious food, the outstanding side dishes, and the genuinely friendly service, this was an unforgettable Korean BBQ experience. We can't wait to come back. read more

On a Saturday afternoon I was craving for Korean BBQ and hotpot and ran across this restaurant. When I arrived I noticed it was a grand opening and due to the fact that it was a new business, they did not have the hotpot available. I settled for the Korean BBQ all you can eat buffet. The all you can eat does not include their house soup. There is a bit of micromanagement by the servers as you're eating. For example, we couldn't cook the extra raw meat we had on the table unless we finished the food we had on the table. According to the server, they would charge us extra if we didn't finish all the food. Another issue I had was my tea cup being dirty and so I asked for another cup. The server brought me a new cup and poured the tea into my new cup and the dirty cup and took the teapot away. When we got the bill, they charged me for two tea cups. It's a new restaurant so they're going through some hiccups. This place is in the golf course. Not many people there and so they sat us outside when it was freezing cold. Overall, the food was bland but if you use their sauce it's not so bad. Maybe I'll check in again next year when in town to see if the service and food had improved. read more

I haven't had Korean BBQ in a very long time. I was invited to a birthday celebration to this place. I had never heard of it. I think it's fairly new. So it's Korean BBQ, all you can eat. Eat all the meat you can: they serve beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp. And all the sushi and sides that come with it too. If you're familiar with Korean BBQ then you know the sides are the best. My favorite sides were Kimchi, Bean sprouts, cucumber and potatoes. The service was great! Sometimes they may take a while to get to you but they will not forget you. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining (with beautiful water fountains outside). Price: I think it might be pricey for some but it's totally worth it for all the food you get. Entertainment: You can expect karaoke singing! I don't sing but I love the entertainment. The manager Rex was very nice to accommodate our huge party. He had this great smile and great energy to match our group! Honorable mention - thank you Steve for playing the Sax. A bonus entertainment. Palm Tree Restaurant & Sushi is a Japanese-Korean American fusion eatery. They do a reasonably decent job in preparing the Korean and American foods. I've only tried the Korean and Japanese dishes. So this review will be focused on what we ordered. Gskbi - 3.5/5 The Galbi was tasty and marinaded properly. The ribs has many strands of costal cartilage throughout the meat that made parts of the ribs tough. Some ribs were also very fatty. Otherwise, the Galbi was decent. Bento Box - 4/5 Not a bad selection. The teriyaki chicken was tasty and the sides of salad, edamame, japchae, etc were all good. Overall, I feel that if they concentrated on a struct Korean food menu, they can focus on what they do well. Doing an American fusion menu where you can order a cheese burger, or a bulgogi burger might appeal to a few golfers that might visit Palm Tree as their 19th hole, but might be confusing. I don't know how this place handles their shrimp, but whatever they served us tasted like shoe. It's like they went ahead to batter and fry something that had already gone bad. It was the weirdest experience too - when we were seated, the waitress with nails longer than tempura shrimp goes.. "Alright, this is how it works. You place your order with me, and you go pick it up at that window" pointing at the dark back corner of the restaurant where the orders were coming out. Like what? Ok I guess.. None of the sushi tasted fresh, like I felt sorry for the sushi. The food, the ambiance, the service, it was all very off-putting. This is the restaurant at Brentwood Golf Course. It has a lot of potential, but it's not firing on all cylinders yet. A round of golf came with free lunch yesterday. My brother got the cheeseburger and I got the spicy Ramen. They have an American menu, a Korean menu and a sushi buffet. The Roman was good and it had a nice service presentation... I haven't had the sushi yet. Again, the potential is great for this place, but I don't know if they'll be able to accomplish making all the different varieties of food and have them all be awesome. What an awesome experience! From the moment we walked in, the energy here felt friendly, warm, and welcoming. The food was fresh and the service honestly stood out in the best way. They definitely have some hiccups to work out but the food is tasty, the AYCE menu has a lot of options and the fish was fresh. They seem a bit disorganized but you can tell they are trying hard and very passionate about providing you with good food and good service. The food took a while to come out and was sort of our of order. I got my miso soup after the appetizers. I think the trick here is to just order everything you want in the beginning because it takes so long and the servers don't check in with you enough. I had to ask for my drink refill and for plates to be cleared from the table. I think the wait staff is new/this is their first restaurant job so they don't intuitively know how to wait tables efficiently. I'll be back and give them another shot, I think with some small improvements they can earn 5 stars from me because the price and food is actually good. read more

I was driving home from my workout on Balfour and this humongous yellow sign caught my eye. Moving here to Brentwood 2 years ago, my husband and I have to drive to Livermore or Concord to get our ACYE fix because Brentwood lacks this. We walked into a large spacious restaurant with floor to ceiling windows, I appreciated it felt so airy and open. Was informed that only the sushi ACYE was available today but KBBQ and hotpot will be added in the next few weeks. Lunch pricing 24.99 and dinner 29.95. Excellent pricing, a steal to be honest so we weren't expecting the food to be amazing because normally ACYE spots aren't all that great but boy were we wrong. Bite after bite of each dish we ordered my husband's eyes and mine got wider and wider. We just kept uttering "here in Brentwood?!?! Wow!!! Holy crap!" My husband and I have been to all the sushi restaurants here in Brentwood and nothing compares to this place. The quality and portion of the fish to rice ratio beats every other restaurant we tried here. The service was phenomenal. You can tell the owners and employees were so proud of their food. I really cannot wait to come back to try their hot pot and bbq but if they only served sushi too I would come back. I left that restaurant so incredibly happy with food and service. Came here to try the Korean BBQ + sushi AYCE. Staff was very friendly, but as someone who has been to several KBBQ restaurants, it was off putting that at this one they randomly brought meat that we didn't order and cooked it for you. Without asking us, they brought out pork and chicken dishes and started cooking them on the grill before we could say anything. They also didn't ask about any allergies or food preferences. At one point, they cooked some meat in garlic and put it on a bed of lettuce when one in our party can't have lettuce and the other can't have garlic. We brought this up to the owner and he told us they were simply excited to share the meat with us and that we had a right to refuse. However, there was no opportunity to refuse as they would bring the food and toss it on the grill so quickly. Not sure why they do KBBQ this way. read more

Driving down Balfour, we saw a big sign that said AYCE Sushi Buffet and that got our attention. AYCE Sushi in Brentwood?! Am I dreaming? We dont have to go to Concord to get quality sushi? We went on Sunday morning around 11am and we were the second table there. We followed the signs and I misread the entrance sign to the right. The actual entrance is right when you turn into the parking lot by the circle water fountain. We mistakenly parked towards the other end of the parking lot and saw some Church signs there. Odd for a restaurant, but then we realized we went to the wrong section of the building! Oops!. The main entrance is right when you get into the parking lot! When we made our way into the building, we were definitely in the wrong section, but thankfully, the people working there at the church guided us to the right place through the backdoor of the restaurant to the front of the restaurant. When we got in, we were immediately greeted by Steven, the waiter for our foodie adventure. He said that they had AYCE sushi that just started a few weeks ago and we were there because of the AYCE sushi advertising. The dining room was big, wide and spacious. With wine glass for water cups with big comfy chairs. We found our seats and sat down on a nice table. They had many TVs on the wall, and shows ranged from sports to news broadcast to infomercials. Steven presented the menu to us and it was very similar to the Fuji sushi buffet menu. I'll include pictures for clarity. The front was drinks and appetizers and desserts and the rear was all sushi. For appetizers, Steven took our order and for any drinks we had. We started off with miso soup, rice, chicken karaage, fried oysters and vegetable tempura. The Fried Oysters were like freshly chucked and covered with panko and freshly fried. You can test how sweet and juicy they were. 5/5 stars Chicken Karaage was pretty good, overly fried batter. Not my favorite, but still good with rice (3.5/5 stars) Vegetable Tempura were also pretty good. The batter was light and comes with tempura sauce. (4/5 stars) Miso soup and Rice were great too. Nice and fresh and not soggy or overly cooked. (5/5 stars) As for the main course, Steven came by with a pen and pad and told us to write down what we wanted and the chef would prepare them. Unlike Fuji Buffett in Concord, there was no sushi boat, so you have to go through the traditional ordering process. I wrote in big letters to make things easier of the chef. I think we ordered a Dragon Roll, Caterpillar Roll, Spider Roll, a large Combo Sashimi plate, Aburi Salmon Nigiri. Each roll came out with 4-5 pieces (half a roll) The Large Combo Sashmi plate came out with 2 thick pieces of tuna, salmon and Hamachi I think. All tasting really fresh. The quality of the fish were also good as well. It didn't taste too chewy or dense or fishy. It tasted fresh and sweet and sucullent. Like what sushi should taste like. The rolls were all very tasty and had their unique flavors to them. Some were on the sweeter side with the unagi sauce and a mayo to it. I think next time, we will try some different rolls to get some different flavors . I think the spider roll was my favorite because it really tasted like soft shell crab in there that they just cooked. All the rolls were tasty and delicious. For second round, we got some more sashimi and ordered a futo maki roll, which was light and cleans the pallets some. We ordered another order of Fried Oysters and sesame balls. Unfortunately, some of the items they had on the menu were not available, so we couldn't try everything we wanted. Steven was apologetic about that situation but said they will be opening up a hotpot and Korean BBQ experience in the near future. And since they were still starting out, they only had 1 waiter to walk back and forth to attend the tables so it was kind of short staffed, but I think in time, they'll have more customers and more business as the word gets out. The all-you-can eat portion of this restaurant is perfect for sushi eaters who like to "pack it away!" You will get a great deal here! We had the all-you-can-eat, and the food just keeps coming! We had at least 9 different things, and we left thoroughly stuffed! The staff were very friendly, especially the gentleman making the sushi! Just a really nice guy! What I can say: He knows what he's doing! He pumps out rolls and offers great tasting rolls based off of individual likes and preferences. This man knows his craft. As sushi lovers who moved from the Bay Area, we're still hunting for a great sushi spot in Brentwood, but Palm Tree isn't it. Pretty open and spacious. Good views of the golf course and pond. They do have great specials for golfing and dining too. We tried three sushi rolls and salmon sashimi. The rolls were bland and didn't taste fresh. The salmon wasn't fishy, but the cut was odd, and it lacked that vibrant freshness we expect from quality sashimi. For comparison, Chelsea Restaurant used to be amazing when we first moved here--great presentation and fresh fish, like our favorite Bay Area spots. But their quality dropped (maybe a chef change?), so we stopped going. We hoped Palm Tree would be better, but no luck. ‍ The service was even worse. Waitress didn't even bother picking up a clean mug before she gave me a dirty mug and poured hot water and a tea bag. We waited 20 minutes for sashimi (raw fish, seriously?) even though we told our waiter we were in a hurry since one of us had to get back to work. The place was practically empty. Only 4 tables with 2 people each and 3 waiters! No excuse for that kind of delay or lack of attention. This experience left us with a sour taste. We won't be back for sushi, and I can't recommend Palm Tree. Please work on your hospitality and food quality! For now, our search for good sushi in Brentwood continues. read more

So happy to have more Asian food option in Brentwood. The view of the golf course from the restaurant is beautiful, it will be really nice in the summer. This restaurant is a great choice if you are having a hard time picking cuisine. There's something for everyone. We got a roll to try and stuck mostly with the Korean option with a couple of recommendations by chef Paul from the Korean side of the menu. The sushi roll was good, but where the food really shined was the squid bibimbap and the boneless short rib. Both were incredibly flavorful, however the short rib was easily my favorite. Chef Paul clued us in on why it is so tasty, he uses wagyu beef. Service was also fantastic, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. We also received some nice ban chan from the kitchen to try. What was different than any other ayce restaurants I've been to is how they will show you how to cook the meat and even share how they'd eat it. Honestly, we didn't choose our first round of meat and was not prepared for the heavy meats: pork belly, chicken, and bulgogi to be thrown on the grill by our waitress. Felt obligated to eat it too. I rarely leave bad reviews for places especially restaurants but this place needs to close down. Unfortunately on 10/26/25 my family came to this restaurant. They give you a sheet to mark your sushi and a menu to choose which meat you want for the kbbq. Well, after 30 mins the waitress comes over and bring random meats we didn't order and put it in the grill. Two types of beef and a pork option. What is one of us had an allergy??? They give you no time to decline the meat you didn't order. I let the waitress know I didnt eat pork and she said well maybe the other people in your group will....um.. interesting. Anyway, she takes our order and takes the sushi order (later come to find out she left it on another table!!). Remember this for later about the sushi order. The worst part comes next and is the whole reason for the review. We got the shrimp. The shrimp is full head on so you have to completely peel yourself. So, we just directly put it in the grill and cooked it. It was I believe it was labeled 2 types of shrimp, but in the same container, as we started to peel and eat, my dad who is quicker already had three and noticed something was wrong once he got to the 4th shrimp. it came out of the shell like MASHED potatoes!!!! Completely rotten and spoiled. As if it had been like that for DAYS! I've seen many spoiled shrimp, nothing to this extreme. Unfortunately you cook all the meats on one grill, so if one thing is spoiled the rest might as well be. My father and husband got food poisoning and are now both recovering. I'm not trying to spread false information, only share what I believe is happening, which is In my personal opinion I have reason to believe their meat and fish is stored incorrectly for days and reused day after day if not sold out. It's almost as if they keep adding fresh shrimp to old shrimp....that would explain the difference in colors. We did let the waitress know politely that the shrimp is spoiled and it was NOT replaced. We had to let the tables around us know before eating any of it. Unfortunately, some of the tables didn't listen and ate it but then too after finding mushy shrimp decided to stop. We all as customers just stared at one another like what did we all just eat. I feel like this restaurant needs 'more than a bad review, it needs an investigation. So remember how I said to remember the sushi order for later. Well after 1.5 hours, YES AN HOUR AND A HALF, we finally get the first item we ordered from the sushi menu. I'm not kidding as we were leaving the restaurant more items from our sushi order was coming out. Like edamame. I wish I recorded all this because I couldn't believe my eyes. Edamame took 2 hours to come out.... Anyways the owner came over and told us the dinner was free of charge. Came here on Sunday afternoon after reading great reviews on yelp and a neighborhood post. I was very disappointed with the poor service and lack of organization in this place. We were seated at a table and then left to wait for almost an hour with an acknowledgement every 10-15 mins. I walked to the empty bar to request for drinks (water and a diet soda) after being seated for 10 minutes and no one came to take our order. I then wrote my food order on a post it note that a server gave me (seemed to be the only one working because the rest had no clue what was happening). I then walked it over to the kitchen window and requested for an eta because we have been waiting for maybe 20mins - she said "quick". We got two cups of miso soup about five mins later and a cold plate pf burned chicken karaage. We waited for a little bit more before we decided to leave. There was one young lady who came around a few times after I flagged her and all she said was that they are sorry for the long wait. It was the most horrible experience I've ever had at a restaurant and I will not recommend anyone to come to this place until they get their stuff together. I sent an email to the owners to bring this to their attention and suggested to hold back on their all you can eat menu until they are fully staffed with competent people, but never got a response. read more
