WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF? I used to live down the street and made the mistake of coming to this dennys on more than one occasion. Generally, Denny's is relegated to last resort food status, right above emergency hardtack rations. I came to meet some friends for dessert and really wish i hadn't. I had ordered the pumpkin pie ala mode. The pie tasted like a pink pearl eraser and was rubbery like a terrifying cross between hard set jello and pumpkin flavored grits. It is a sad day when a man can't finish a slice of pie. That day was very sad. The ice cream was pretty standard, since they didn't have to make it themselves. The service was non existent. It took upwards of 20 minutes for our order to be taken, another 30 to be served, and not once were our waters filled. I'm not trying to be rude and offensive, I just call it as i see it. Denny's should close this location since it clearly does not meet any company standards for service or quality. If these are the standards, then I fear for the longevity of the company. read more

It was about an hour before midnight, my mom and I just finished seeing a movie so we went to Denny's for some ice-cream. As my mom was getting seated, I went to the girls restroom, and omgoodness, it was DISGUSTING!! There was toilet paper everywhere on the floor and even near the sink. Two stalls toilets were still filled paper, pee and poop. The middle stall was semi decent. So when I found my mother, I told to her not use the restroom. Personally for me in my mind, if the restroom and dining room are dirty and gross, I can only imagine how "clean" they keep the kitchen. I mean come on, every restaurant should AT LEAST check the restroom every 15-30 minutes. Anyways, so after our waiter, Julian, took our order, I politely told him about the girls restroom being dirty. He seemed annoyed and said that he would talk to the manager. For the record, I never saw an employee go towards the restroom to clean, so I'm pretty sure that when my mom and I left, the girls restroom was still a disgusting mess. This actually brings me to the next issue as to why I'm giving this Denny's one star. The waiter, Julian, came up to my Mom and I while we were still eating our ice-cream, if we wanted our check now. We've only been there for at least 15-20 minutes. I know that we only ordered ice-cream, but still, we wanted to stay chat. It was almost as though Julian was trying to rush us out, it's not like the place was packed, there were only about 3 other tables that he had to monitor. My mom actually told him, "You can give us the check, but we're not leaving just yet." Overall, we didn't like Julian's attitude, after we paid the check, we gave him a $0.00 tip. I know that tip may seem like a slap in the face but it was just his attitude that impacted the decision on the tip. Needless to say, we don't plan on visiting this Denny's anytime soon. read more

I gave this Denny's 1 star because i couldn't give it any lower & if i could, i would give it no stars. The check-in to get a free dessert does not work! I fought for it but the manager turned it away because they only accept print-out coupons. Cheap!!! This was THE worst Denny's experience ever! The food took a very long time; they don't do "free refills" even though the menu says free refills for that drink! Our meal was served and we didn't have utensils. Problem solved quickly but that isn't the reason for the low rating. I had ordered their new blueberry pancakes and they tasted good and there were lots of blueberries...but when I got to the middle of my pancakes, I noticed it was not fully cooked. It was soft, white, and creamy right in the middle where the bulk of my blueberries were. I had to stop eating and I was not satisfied...I was still hungry. I was waiting for our waitress so I can tell her about my undercooked pancakes, but when she came to drop off our check, she didn't ask about our meal and she left so quickly that I didn't have a chance to tell her. She didn't even thank us for coming. We went to pay the cashier and left. I also noticed the sign behind the cashier that says if you have any suggestions or comments, call the manager at "blank." It has been YEARS since I've been here. The reason why is because 1. There was a time my family and I just moved into our new house, and Denny's was the only restaurant open at 10pm. We make our way in and the cashier tells us that the chef had not arrived yet. There were a lot of people waiting at their tables who probably waited hours for the chef to arrive. So we left. 2. My friend and I went in hope they would be kind enough to let us put up a flyer. The cashier told us that he has to ask the manager and kicked us out. It's just a flyer -.- 3. My sisters told me that when she took our little brother and her friend to Denny's, not only was the service terrible, but the waiter spilled orange juice on our 6 year old little brother! Plus, the food was not as satisfying. Though I would like to enjoy breakfast meals, the idea of everything being soaked in grease, getting burnt, horrible service, and what not just doesn't seem tasteful enough. I'm not going to Denny's because I want a 5 star meal, I go to Denny's because it is convenient, has decent comfort food (read fatty and salty), and the customer service is pretty on par. Sometimes you get a cool waitress who is bored and sticks around and talks to you even! Not here. I went in with a big group of people which wasn't a problem seeing how this place was empty. It took them forever to take our order, they neglected our tables and our food was lukewarm. Granted, I imagine that it could be difficult to plate for that many people if you want all of the food to come out at once. However, had they brought us our food one table at a time, and explained that they just wanted to serve us hot food, we would have understood. I will never go here. I first came to this Denny's back in 99 or 2000. The service for food was dreadfully slow back then and the quality of the food was rubbish. Fast forward to 2013, September 14th to be exact and nothing has improved. The restaurant floor was quite dirty and in need of cleaning. The waiter's customer service skills were atrocious and was in no hurry to wait on us. We waited for 40 minutes for our food! 40 minutes and still no sign of our order. We canceled our order and left. Denny's really is a dump. It is the worst. It really is too bad Norm's on Valley is gone. That was a great 24 hour fix for great greasy food. For some reason it seems like at this Denny's, service is particularly slow. At other Denny's restaurants, the food definitely gets to my table more quickly. I only go to this Denny's because it is closest to my house and sometimes that is most convenient when spending time with a friend, but I really prefer other locations. read more

Any Denny's that is within walking distance to even one bar is asking for trouble, between the hours of midnight and say, 4am. This Denny's is within walking distance from about 4 bars. My friend and I went in a little before midnight but were still seated by 4 late teens-early 20s who were obviously on one. Loud, obnoxious, drawing attention to themselves, etc. And judging by the looks the server gave them as they left, they left little or no tip. Classy. We went in wanting dessert but ended up ordering food because for some strange reason the pictures on the menu looked appetizing. I ordered the club sandwich and my friend had the mushroom burger. We devoured them! I can't remember ever saying "Damn that was good!" after eating Denny's but that's what we both said afterwards. Weird! But it's Denny's. This place is ridiculous. I actually made a Yelp account just to comment at how awful this place is. I came and decided to order one of those $2-4-6-8 deals. I chose the Cowboy Steak, and they decided to serve me FRIED GROUND BEEF. I swear it tasted like it belonged on a dry burger. It was just horrible. I got a drink with the steak, Sprite to be exact. The first time they served it, no problem. The second time is a different story. When they picked up my cup for refills, it was clean (there was nothing but ice in the cup) . When the drink came back out, I saw some sprinkles of pepper and PAPER IN MY DRINK. The manager is incompetent. I've never seen somebody so incompetent at his job. He has EMPLOYEES, yet he is in complete control of the banquet rooms (apparently his office is in there) and the cash register. If the manager is busy, well, I guess you have to wait for him to finish whatever he's doing before you can pay the bill. Worst Denny's I've ever been to. No doubt about it. read more

My boyfriend's name is "Denny" and I love pancakes and waffles. :) Oh, and this is near my house :) I usually go in the morning and afternoons, so I'm not sure how the service is at night, but the waitress that usually takes our orders is very sweet. Every time I come here I'm sat down quick and my order is taken quicker. The service by the staff is very nice and my food always comes out the way I want it! Parking sucks so just find it out behind the restaurant. Ive been here early in the morning to late at night and ive never have had bad service. I went to this Denny's a while back with a group of about 10 and we had horrible service. They sat us down and took them about 10 minutes to come with a menu and utensils, another 15 minutes to get our order and about 35 minutes for our food. To top it off, one of our friends didn't get pancakes she ordered so they said they would go check, they didn't come back. We told them to take that order off the ticket because we never received it and they tried making it up to us with a small sundae. Ordered a potato and sausage skillet and a grand slam breakfast. The breakfast pancakes and components were okay and standard. I've been here two times now and the both times that I've been here, the service would be more than horrible... like it would get on my nerves. I would basically serve myself because no waiters/waitresses would be around when I needed a spoon, napkins or even water. As mentioned, services would be extremely slow to the point where I would just straight out complain to the person that I am with and most of the time, I have better things to talk about. After receiving my dish, I've also felt like it was too overpriced and I'd be getting way less than I'm paying for. This wouldn't usually be a problem for most cases because, again, they ARE trying to make a profit but I've felt like my portion was just too little. I ordered the slam thing where I'd be able to pick the food that I wanted which would be eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast (finished it in about 4 minutes). Lots great people work here but the waitress Leticia needs to go. Every single time when we were here and Leticia was our waitress, she was absolute rude and horrible at her job. Instead of taking our order, she was playing with her daughter and grandkid and chatting with them at another table. When she finally came, she didn't t know the menu. When we asked questions, she would insist she was correct and say you can go ask the manager. Well isn't her job to ask the manager? So we asked for the manager, whom was very nice. Turned out Leticia was wrong. In the middle of ordering, Leticia used the menu to slap my seat all of a sudden, scared the heck outta me, turned out there was afly, and she kept slapping the seat. Didn't bring silverware, forgot an item we ordered, never refilled water. Worst of all is the horrible attitude. Other than that, this Denny's has great wait staff and good food.
