PLEASE READ MY TESTIMONY My 2024 KIA Sorento X-Line XS Prestige which I bought off the showroom floor for $53,000, has been sitting in my garage for 6 months inoperable, due to it going into LIMP MODE on Interstate I35, in the middle of rush hour traffic. On September 12, 2025, my KIA was going 75mph, and within 30 seconds it went from 75mph to 20mph - LIMP MODE, and then 20 seconds later, it shut off. It was a terrible situation. Other drivers were yelling at me, honking, and flipping me off. I believe my life was in jeopardy; not just my life, my grandson's life who was 6 months old at the time. Simultaneously, the malfunction indicator light (MIL) and the check engine (CE) light were luminated. I was terribly frightened by this LIMP MODE situation, and in just seconds, my KIA created a backup on the highway. I had a fear I was about to get rear ended or involved in a wreck. The KIA was unsafe to drive so it was towed by KIA Roadside Assistance to the dealership, Dennis Eakin KIA in Killeen, TX. I received a voice message that my KIA was ready to pick up. On Friday, September 19th I took an UBER to the dealership to pick up my KIA. Once I arrived, I got the keys and the service ticket from Terry. The service ticket had notes from the mechanic; it showed a stored code of P1C2D03 came up on the scanner; instead of making the repairs, the dealership reset the adaptives. Dennis Eakin KIA cleared the stored code from my KIA's history, then, they claimed it was operating as designed! The dealership had it for a week (09/15/2025 to 09/22/2025). I told several people at the dealership I was not driving it home because it was not repaired. What did the dealership do? The next Monday, September 22, 2025, Dennis Eakin KIA had an employee from the dealership drive my KIA to my house, and park it in my driveway! She drove it with the MIL and CE lights on, AFTER, I had it towed to the dealership and no repairs were done. There is a NTSA recall for my exact model but for the 2022 year vs. 2024. My KIA has an 8-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), 2.5L Turbo - GDI / Engine THETA-III. Everything the NTSA mentions in the recall was/is happening with my KIA. I believe I could have the same issue; as a stored code of P1C2D03 shows the KIA needs replacement of the DTC assembly and for the A/T system software to be updated. That was the last time I drove my KIA because I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT EVER AGAIN! I requested KIA America either replace or repurchase my KIA, so that I would not have to suffer a huge financial loss; they refused. I only have 8,137 miles on my KIA, and it was not conforming to the manufacturer's warranty. I followed all protocol found in the "2024 WARRANTY AND CONSUMER INFORMATION MANUAL" page 101. The dealership had a final opportunity to make the repairs and instead of making the repairs, they removed the stored code from the memory (P1C2D03), and turned off the MIL / CE light. I have been to Mediation with the BBB Auto Line, then Arbitration. In my opinion neither were neutral and to date, 04/05/2026, this situation still has not been resolved! Although the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TXDMV), Lemon Law Investigator accepted my case under the Texas Lemon Law, the hearings for the State of Texas Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) are being scheduled for September 2026. By the time of the hearing, it will be a whole year since it was driven. KIA America forces you into trading it in (making it someone else's problem and causing a huge financial loss), or selling it and I am unwilling to do either one. KIA America needs to stand behind their vehicle and repurchase it from me along with my related expenses. While under Mediation with the BBB Auto Line, KIA America sent a subject matter technical expert (TE) to my home to conduct a full inspection of my KIA. He spent 45 minutes inspecting it; then he drove it. I have his written report; he found more things wrong with it than I was aware of. I was not allowed to talk to him during his inspection, but I did ask him one question as he was leaving; I asked, "If this was your KIA would you drive it", he said "no" and then, "definitely NOT on the highway". This situation has put havoc on me physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually! I was first in contact with the dealership, Dennis Eakin KIA, Killeen, TX, then, have been in touch with Sky Cato, Sarai Espinoza with KIA America Customer Care, Christina Sakhleh with the BBB Auto Line, and KIA Executive Officers; Greg Silvestri, Vice President of Service and Aftersales Operations, Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations, and Russell Wager, Vice President of Marketing, NO ONE CARES! All they talk about on their social media is how many cars they have sold; what about all of us out here with a LEMON KIA! Went to look at discounts and rebates available on Kia cars. Salespeople showed no discounts or rebates on potential purchases price. Salesperson showed 2025 KIA with over 7k miles on it without any discounts or rebates reflecting on a buyer order. You're better off buying pre owned or somewhere else. Salespeople showed me a vehicle used by multiple people as a loaner vehicle for the price of a new car. The price of a car sells cars and I absolutely don't see myself buying anything from this dealership. It was absolutely a waste of my time. Use Autotrader.com, truecar.com, KBB.com to get the best prices on any new or used vehicles. There is more resources available, usually dealers pay less than trade in value from KBB.com for a used car so it gives you a lot of room to negotiate a great price. Absolutely do not recommend looking to buy from this place! We had been contacting this dealership for a few days as we were traveling and found what we thought was a good deal on a car. On the day of our supposed appointment they called and let us know they sold the car out from under us (oh well, it's business), but when we did show up they didn't even try to accommodate for anything! In my experience I felt like I was a valued customer and I was confident that I was receiving the best service as possible. Billy in the Service Dept is an amazing asset to the dealership! I've been working with him on my vehicle since March '23 and I have no doubt that no one else would've assisted me as much as he did. He fought back and forth for months with my Extended Warranty Company to make sure they did right by me. I bought my wife a brand new 2025 Telluride SX right off the truck, hadn't even been PDI'd, on November 14, 2024. After some discussion on price and options we agreed to a price. We did add a couple of dealer install options, a clear rear bumper applique, side running boards, and a cargo cover. Because these were not in stock, they were ordered. A few days later we were advised the parts we in and to come in and have them installed, which we did. When we picked it up, we found your service people installed the clear applique over a dirty bumper and even had the dirty finger prints of whoever installed it. A new one was supposed to be ordered and we were told that when it comes in you would contact us. Moreover, after a couple days of ownership, I stepped on a running board and found it was loose. Loose to the point I could move it up and down. So I checked the other side. While it appeared tight in the front, the back was also loose. I figured I'd bring this to your service dept's attention when they contacted me about the replacement applique. That was November the 18th of last year. To date, we've not heard from your dealer. We even called and sent an email to your Sales Manager Joe San Nicolas, to no avail. So, we're out several hundred dollars for the applique and even more to have the local Hyundai dealer to install it and fix the running boards. It would appear that as soon as I gave you a check for $50K, not even credit, but real money, that we were no longer an important customer. But wait, there's more. We traded in a 10-year-old Optime SLX. In 10 years, no issues. Then a year ago it developed a very small oil leak and so I thought I'd take it to Eakin and get it fixed. Additionally, for most of the 10 years we would off and on smell coolant after driving it and parking. So, we thought we have this looked at also. We dropped it off and received a call that it would cost $1,600 to fix it. WOW!!! But it needed to be done so we agreed. When we got the car back it was literally missing parts, 2 covers, which I bought from Kiaparts.com. But worse, it was not making sounds it didn't make before. A loud hissing sound when we first started it in the morning and then again when we hit the gas pedal to leave a light or pass someone on the freeway. We never returned to that dealer. All future service needs would be done at the local Hyundai dealer since then pretty much sell the same car, different sheet metal. I really don't understand this... but rest assured we learned from our mistake. I don't understand how these other people report excellent service because we're 0 for 2 at this point. read more

Car shopping during a pandemic and with supply chains issues is a challenge. After trying 4-5 local, closer to home dealerships, trying to test drive and reserve a car was impossible. So we widened our search. Marissa the online sales rep responded very quickly, answered all of our questions, and let us know which vehicles they were expecting to arrive in the next few weeks. We drove up a few days later, met with our awesome sales rep, Joe Brown, who explained all of the features of the Telluride and the Sorrento, and we ultimately reserved our new ride. To our surprise the vehicle came in 10 days earlier than expected. Yeah! Another trip up a couple of days later, Joe came in on his day off to meet with us, and explained in detail all of the features the car has. It has a LOT!!! Financing with Mario was a breeze--no "you really need to get this insurance or that", like previous dealers had done. A few signatures and initials later we were all done. We never owned a Kia before, and look forward to enjoying our new purchase. Appointments are easily made for service. Check in is easy and wait is always more than reasonable. The waiting lounges are comfortable and snacks are provided. We are always kept in the loop on what's going on and how much longer it may be. Recalls are searched and addressed without asking. I bring my car in to get repaired and it takes 2 weeks just to get it in. They give me a 1:30pm appointment for a 2 hour ac repair. I call at 5 and they haven't even started it. I told them when I made the appointment I needed it back that day because I need it for work. I cannot drive it without ac in the hot Texas summer. I have already gotten sick twice from heat exhaustion. They said they would get it done first thing in the morning. I'm not holding my breath. They should stop overbooking appointment for repairs if they cannot get the work done in the promised time. Update. Gave them the morning get my car done. Called after lunch and apparently the person who was supposed to do my car isn't even working today. The person on the phone didn't even know what was happening with my car. Very bad experience with this Kia dealership. My son was in the process of purchasing a car from this dealership. We are preapproved with a credit union that this dealership supposedly has good history with. We were told today that if everything went well, the car could be available today, or the latest by Monday. The car was apparently at the mechanic getting serviced. Kia sent over the purchase order for this vehicle to our credit union, which was apparently sent incorrectly. Our credit union told us the purchase order was sent incorrectly. We told the Kia dealership. We checked back a few hours later to see if the new purchase order was sent and we were told that the car sold. I waited patiently to find my perfect Sportage. When I found out the one I'd been waiting for would be available at Dennis Eakin Kia, I was leery of doing business in town. I typically travel outside of Killeen to make my auto purchases. And to be quite honest, I dread the whole buying process. That is, until today. WOW! Clint was our salesman and did a fantastic job taking care of us. Debbie, the finance manager, was absolutely amazing. She makes you feel so comfortable and is a whiz at explaining things so the typical consumer can understand! But then there was Caitlyn. Clint, our salesman, had a prior engagement and was unable to stay, so Caitlyn stepped in to assist. She took the time to help me install and set up the Kia Access, then sat in the vehicle with me, explaining each of the different components and how to use them. She was extremely knowledgeable and so very patient. She did not rush me, even though it was after their normal business hours. She wanted to ensure we were well taken care of. My 2014 Sorento has been a great vehicle for me. Sadly the engine went out but was covered under a factory recall. Two days short of 8 weeks I got it back. Now the door ajar light stays on, the headlights wont turn off, even during the day the bell rings constantly as though they are on. The door locks do not engage when put in gear and the the hatch will not open. The engine light came on after 30ish miles and when I called to speak to someone about this last night a young women said to me " is the light switch in the off position? I wanted to turn her lights off. She said she took the note to service but obviously I did not hear anything. So I left the car unlocked lights on in my driveway. They FINALLY timed out. Since the door ajar light stays on Billy the service writer said to spray the door jam with WD40. What about the hatch not opening and the door locks disabled?? Being talked down to like that speaks volumes about the staff. Chris the service writer is the only employee there that actually does what should be done and represents this dealership in a positive way. KIA corporate has been made aware. Now we wait. read more

This is the worst dealership to purchase a vehicle at and also get service from. I purchased my vehicle from these people and they told me that it came with some sort of fabric coating on the seats and I had to pay the upcharge for it already being on the seat. Keep in mind this car was certified pre-own so they had already collected it from the original purchaser. I tried using it and they said that it was mean to just put soap and water and it should come right off. What a waste of 800.00 they supposedly said I had to pay. They are a bunch of crooks. Fast forward to today and I had to get my car fixed. It was under warrantee for the fuel pump to be fixed. It was just fine for about a day and then I got a check engine light. Now I have to take it back to the service dept. to get checked. I sure hope i don't get that rude service lady "Holly". The first time I came in to have it evaluated, I waited almost 3 hours and then when I went to go get a status update, she glances out the window and says "Oh, It looks like it hasn't even moved" . Then another service advisor decided to chime in and rudely told me that if I wanted to they could get me a lyft. I was so appalled at how they were speaking to me. I see all the comments on here stating that people have recently also had issues with this dealership but I really don't think they care. I go to Kia and present my "winning numbers" to them and of course they try to talk me into getting a car, after we get past that bs he goes in the back and gets this fake certificate put into a sleeve protecter like you use in high school and points at the board on the wall and even though my paper clearly says I won $500, he tells me I won a "vacation " the certificate states you have to pay a deposit and filing fee for sending in your certificate so I googled the vacation company that Kia has printed on the certificate and it has NOTHING but ONE STAR reviews about how they e been scamming people for the last TWELVE YEARS!! the "vacation company" has a number that just loops you around through automated systems, you never really speak to anyone, and when you do , none of the days or locations you choose are available. While I was waiting the Gm Terry Cameron, starting to be about the Kia Soul, I was shocked at the amount of room that it had on the inside. It was a quick Dynamic presentation but I was really impressed with the vehicle. They were able to get me approved even though I had a couple of blemishes and I owed more on my current vehicle than it was worth. I only have one complaint about this dealership, but it's a fairly important one; everything else was fine. We found a nice selection of new and close-to-new cars to choose from, dealt with friendly people from start to finish, and had no trouble getting any information we requested, both from the website and from the employees inside. (The dealership was undergoing renovation while we were there, but the reno workers were quiet and courteous, never getting in our way.) The lone complaint is this: The prices on their website DO NOT reflect the prices of the vehicles on the lot, even if you check the stock number and it's the *same* vehicle. My wife and I had saved a specific amount of money, and only shopped for cars that cost exactly that much or less. We found a Kia Soul on the website that matched our budget, and went to the lot to look at it. When our salesperson found the car we were looking for, it was marked three thousand dollars more than it showed on the website. He said the sticker price was the *actual* price, and said the website price could only be achieved if we qualified for all available rebates. I rechecked the website -- right in front of him -- and showed him the complete lack of asterisks or fine print; the site simply said it was the price of the vehicle. In the end, we got the car for the same price (within a few dollars, anyway) as the website had advertised, but only because we were willing to waste two hours while he repeatedly "let me talk to my manager" and kept bringing back slightly lower prices each time -- and every time I just showed him the website on my phone and repeated that "we saved this much money; it's all we're going to spend on a car". If they simply had the website price the same as the sticker price, we would have been out of there in 45 minutes or less (15 for the test drive, 30 or for filling out paperwork). I wonder how many people just paid the sticker price and never realized the website listed a much lower price -- or how many people accepted the explanation that the website price is "only if you qualify for all the rebates". EDIT: It's always encouraging when a business reads their reviews and responds (as below). Hopefully, this is an issue they can fix; I think it will go a long way toward growing customer loyalty and respect. read more

Explained to me how the drop off service works and even got me a Lyft to and from; while they worked on my car!! It actually took less time that I was initially quoted which was a bonus! When I arrived to pick up my car, James was there and walked me to my car. He also explained to me what was done. Now I'm not gonna lie, I had no idea what he was saying as car lingo is foreign to me! As I was pulling out Billy Baker ( I know his name bc I have his card) talked with me and explained what was done. He also informed me of a life time warranty that I was unaware of!!! My mother-in-law called in to set up an appointment, she was told that it was for 4pm on Saturday 04-01. She spoke with the manager of finance whose name was Marco or Mario. He did not set her an actual appointment. I showed up to bring her vehicle in and get told by the service department that there was no official appointment actually set for her and that they did not have the capacity to get her vehicle done that day. I am not upset with the service department. Billy and James were upfront about their availability. But in all reality Mario should not be setting appointments for a department he is not in. Instead of calling my mother-in-law and telling her that he made a mistake and he would make it right and schedule her for a different day, he goes to the service department and makes them work on this car that they have no capacity to get done given their workload. They had to off put other work promised to other customers in order to fix Mario's mistake. The blatant disregard for the service department and disrespect to Billy and James was quite obvious. When you mess up, you admit it and make it right. You don't go over to another department and strong arm them into taking on work when they have a set schedule and obligations made to other customers. My mother-in-law was under the assumption that She still had some kind of service contract for oil changes and tire rotations with you guys, as that is what she was told by Mario, come to find out it has been expired since 10/2021. Please advise that Mario avoided speaking with me in store other than rushing to the service department to make them fit this car in. He showed more interest in talking to the cute girl associates than actually doing his job effectively. The over all experience was quite infuriating as my mother in law is disabled and cannot and I mean cannot sit around for bullsh*t like this to be resolved. I happened to be available that day to bring her car and I am glad I did. This was a major cluster fu*k. The only good part of the whole experience was speaking with Billy and James. They were both phenomenal, they both provided clear expectations regarding the scheduling at this shop. I could already tell the moment I walked in that they were over worked and understaffed. Billy and James remained friendly and understanding throughout the whole ordeal. If Mario was any kind of decent manager he would not be over loading his service department expecting them to make whole on empty promises he should have never made in the first place. Good management knows how to balance and how not to over reach. To be quite blunt he sucks as a manager. He financed the car to my mother in law and for her that meant something when she returned to y'all's dealership for service. Mario made it clear that he has no interest maintaining the relationships with the people that walk into that dealership. Nobody in my family, nor friends or acquaintances will ever get a recommendation from me to visit your shop, which is sad because Billy and James were incredible. Mario alone and the way he handled this situation and the way he flat out disrespected Billy and James as well as all the customers that had cars in that shop, is the reason we will never return. Giving 2 stars cause the service department was actually good, just gotta give them leeway to schedule appointments and work on your car. read more

We moved to Texas 4 months ago but I had to learn the roads and over come my fears of driving in a bigger, busier town filled with people racing around, instead of just driving! (I am old, what can I say?) We went to Killeen for lunch and ended up buying a Kia! Our sales rep. was Clint Hammontree and he was great. Good sense of humor, friendly, welcoming. No pressure to buy, Then we visited with the Finance Manager Debie Fox. She also was a great person to meet with and I feel like we have a friend in each of these 2 folks. They couldn't have been better to deal with! When we drove back to pick up paperwork and the license plate, we were so happy to see them both again. Instead of being there for hours while a deal was made, we just made a deal and we were on our way home. I don't know why buying a car is always such a game. I was able to schedule my appointment over the phone (was politely greeted and given several appointment options). Upon arrival I was cheerfully greeted, checked in, and had my contact information confirmed. A short while later (less than an hour) I was contacted and told my car was ready for pickup.
