I believe that not all car salespeople have to be shady and unethical, but Joshua (from online sales) gave me a bait and switch today. I inquired about a car posted on their site, Joshua said it was available for me to come look at, and then told me it was 30-days out when I pushed for more info. Today vs 30-days is a big difference, and I don't take commuting to Killeen lightly.

    Headliner damage

Wildly unethical, shady business practices. The more I learn about the stunts they pull the more I am amazed that they are still operating. I bought a used Outback from them one year ago this week. Since I don't live in Killeen, I have all my service done at the Austin dealership. This week my windshield developed a large crack seemingly out of nowhere, and upon replacement the Austin dealership discovered that the windshield had been improperly installed by Cleo Bay without a gasket. (This in and of itself can compromise the strength of the glass.) Cleo Bay's windshield replacement job also damaged the vehicle, ripping the headliner in multiple places and leaving a mess of liquid sealant all over painted portions of the frame. There were also sticky pieces of foam strips coming loose on the interior where the glass meets the dash. When I asked for assistance with this completely undisclosed damage, they offered zero recourse and have claimed they are not liable. Zero effort has been made to right this wrong, and it's been like pulling teeth to get them to understand why I would be upset about the damage they caused and concealed. They also have lied about multiple things, like claiming that my Subaru Austin service representative "used to work for them." I have also requested to speak with the general manager multiple times and it has not happened. The salesperson who sold me the car failed to follow up with me when he said he would - I'm still waiting - and barely even grasped what the problem was even after I sent him photos of the damage. He hadn't even bothered to read the email I sent him before he called me, and then was wildly dismissive of my concerns. This is absolutely unacceptable and is a very bad look for Subaru America. My experiences with the Austin dealership have all been positive, but Cleo Bay is dishonest and unethical.

Once again, I returned for a new style and color after 2.5 years. I live in Austin, but I keep coming here. Nowhere else compares. Pros: 1. best prices 2. best selection/variety in styles and color 3. The lot is sparse where you can actually see the difference when comparing cars. In Austin and Georgetown, cars are so tightly packed, I can't see the true colors or differences. Austin Subaru also has trees in one of their overflow lots so the shade makes it hard to see plus that means sap and bird poop on new cars if that matters to you. 4. Staff are accommodating, knowledgeable, accountable, enjoy each other and customers. Every single staff person smiles and greets customers in passing 5. Parts are usually in stock 6. Service department is fast. Ex: They told me to be prepared to wait for hours, but it was actually less than an hour 7. Snacks and electrical outlets for charging available. Food nearby 8. I've bought a lot of cars. This place makes it easy and painless. 9. The wait area is comfortable Cons: none that I can think of Paul was our sales rep this time. I always enjoy seeing mike (in finance). Thomas is a sales person that is always full of joy, laughter, warmth, and loves his job. I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of their sales reps. I love this place and will continue to return.

This dealership is amazing they work with you they talk to you they're consistent and they always solved any issues that came up. These guys are amazing they're clean. They're respectable and quite friendly. You definitely want to come here.

Green box by windshield is marked as good but the drawing marks showed there is damage. Not consistent. Contradictory.

This place is a complete joke. Don't go here. Go to Austin for your Subaru needs. Incompetent, unprofessional, disappointing.

WHAT A RIP OFF! To make this long story as short as possible, I called Chuck's Garage and told them…read moreI needed to have AAA tow my truck there to see what the problem was. I told them that the engine starts, but was riding rough and acting as if it was going to cut off. I thought maybe I put some bad gas in it. My second thought was, maybe I needed a major tune up (since it's been a while). I agreed to pay them $102 to find out what the problem was. So, after they start looking at the truck, Andrew calls me back and says the mechanic has an "idea" of what was wrong with it; but needed to do a different diagnosis for an additional fee. They should've said this was a possibility from the beginning. He then told me that he "believed" it was a bad timing change/belt (or whatever you call it). He said the fee to do the second diagnostic was $600 (which was 6 hours labor). This second diagnostic was to check and see, but it wasn't guaranteed that this was actually the problem. When he gave me the cost of second fee, I immediately refused to pay it. Who has $600 to spend on a MAYBE diagnosis? If I agreed to do the diagnostic and that's not what the problem was, I would still owe $102 (for the first diagnostic to NOT tell me what the problem was)... WHAT?? I would also owe $600 (for the second diagnostic). If I then agreed to do the second diagnostic, it would be $700 plus $2300 to fix the timing change/belt. Well, I'm not rich! So I can't afford $700 on a hunch that may not even be the problem. When I told them what my truck was doing and why I needed to have it checked out, that should've given them a general idea of the few things that could be wrong with it. If the guy had told me from the very beginning that if would possibly need a second diagnostic, I would've refused the first diagnostic. I'm not a mechanic, nor do I know anything at all about cars. So, how was I supposed to know they wouldn't find the problem (which is why I agreed to the diagnostic test in the first place)? I just wasted money and one of my AAA tows for absolutely NOTHING. I guess they have to keep the money coming in some kind of way. Yeah, it's $102, but that's money that could've been used elsewhere. The truck is still not in running condition. So, I'm back to square one. Thanks a lot! IN RESPONSE TO CHUCK'S MESSAGE.. In the third paragraph, you say that I approved the diagnostic with my signature. Yes... I approved the FIRST diagnostic ONLY. I paid for a service I DIDN'T GET. It's not rocket science! Maybe you guys should be honest and let people know upfront that there's a POSSIBILITY you'll need to do additional/more expensive test. If you had told me this, I would've had you guys do the first test. Then, you wouldn't have my signature at all. LASTLY: Him explaining what the mechanic has to do to diagnose the problem with my truck is TOTALLY IRRELEVANT to the fact that I paid for them to diagnose it and they didn't. End of story...

I coasted into the parking lot next-door checked a few items and determine that I had absolutely no idea what was wrong with my truck. Thinking the worst that the fuel pump was bad in my truck. I walked over to the garage and explain my situation and they were happily willing to help and went immediately over to my truck. The next thing I see is my truck being pushed by several employees and pushed onto a lift. Four mechanics immediately want to work to try and figure out what was wrong with my truck. Unlike most shops, they actually took my input and were very receiving of the information that I gave them It took approximately 20 minutes to figure out that the computer had gone bad on my truck! Thinking the worst and thinking thousands of dollars I went inside and they called multiple parts shops and dealers to see if they can get the part. It wasn't available until the day. I was brand-new to the area and they were happy to give me a ride to the rental car company down the street. I called the next day and they stated that my truck would be done by the end of the day and that it would need to go to the dealer to have the computer flashed. When all said and done I was expecting a bill much greater than $1000 and was pleasantly surprised when the bill was just slightly over $600. They had to tow the vehicle, had for mechanics working on it for over two hours and get the parts and a dealership have to flash the computer and then bring it back. They were extremely fair very courteous and upmost they were honest. They could've taken me for a lot of money but there is still some integrity left in the world. I highly recommend Al's for any of your auto needs and I will be back. Thank you to everyone that took care of my car and took care of me. David Brown Blue 2002 Suburban
