I ended up taking it to a Nissan dealership where it has sat in the shop for three months waiting for their extended warranty (CarMax ) to kick in and cover it. I then had to provide 10 oil change receipts and they made Nissan scope the entire motor to prove that it was nothing on my part that caused a piece of metal to chunk off of in to the motor. They took their time to the point we had to buy a new vehicle elsewhere. Carmax has managed to lose my paperwork on my gap insurance as well, and I've had to do all the legwork of providing original documents to prove what they sold me. their lack of response and customer service is a joke once they sell a car they have no regards for you and they are downright selling crap cars and getting away with it. they will not help you once you are out the door. how they are getting away with it legally case by case is ridiculous. i Will never touch CarMax again. I been on several platforms against CarMax for their less than mediocre sales and practices

So overall I'd say we had a good experience. We drove near 4 hours to get to this dealership solely…read morebecause they had a 2006 Honda CR-V with decently low mileage for an almost 20 year old vehicle. It was the lowest mileage one I could find that was the EX trim so we decided it was worth it to make the trip up here from Houston. I was able to negotiate to a fair enough price over the phone as well so that's a plus for them and they let us test drive the car on our own which was a nice change from most dealerships. They mentioned that work was also done on the car for it to be sold like the struts being replaced and an oil change. They painted the car themselves which sounds nice and it mostly is but this is where my 4 star rating comes from. There's paint in quite a few places on the car where there really shouldn't be and we can't get it off without replacing the parts entirely. This could have been easily avoided if there was just more care in the masking process. There's also a lot of residue from the duct tape that was used. I appreciate the paint job being done but if they put more care into it and used actual masking tape this would have been an easy 5 stars. Still recommend the place though.

They were very relaxed and I felt no pressure from them to make a purchase. I also am a fan of supporting a family business. Lastly I appreciate that it took less than 3 hours from arrival to the dealership to us driving away with our vehicle. Felt much better than a big corporate dealership experience!

My car had a leak when they told me it didn't. It's been 3 months since I bought my car, and a variety of things have happened involving this place. First, they haven't even sent me my license plates yet. They waited till 2 days before my temporary tags expired to finally return my phone calls, and when they did the woman was rude. She spelt all of my name wrong on the papers she had sent me to sign because I was out of the state so she had to REDO them all. Then, after the paperwork was finally done correctly and I was able to sign it and send it back, I got another set of temporary tags. It's been 3 weeks now since I've sent that paperwork back so I emailed the woman who is responsible for license plates to get the response that she sent out my registration to my current state of residence and should hear from them soon. 2 days later, my husband gets a call to come in and sign the papers I ALREADY SIGNED so that the paperwork can be sent off to my state of residence. so the woman LIED to me about sending it off just to get me to stop asking questions. Long story short, these people are incompetent when it comes to anything customer service wise. They'll be nice, sell you a car and then not have a care in the world about any of the necessary steps needed to be taken afterwards because they already got their money and that's all they care about!

We came in and test drove a vehicle, but were pressed for time, so we set an appointment with the salesman for the next morning. When we arrived at the dealership the next day, the vehicle was parked up front and we test drove it again so I could drive it as well. Afterward, we sat down a bit, and after our salesman finished our application, a manager walked up and said that they had just sold the vehicle. They sold it right out from under us. I felt bad for the salesman we were working with because he was new. By that time, they had already ran a hard inquiry on our credit. Unbelievable. That left a real bad taste in my mouth. You know you will get screwed if the salespeople can't even be honest with each other. I was at a loss. We also let them value our trade-in and they attempted to lowball us by 9 or 10 grand. Their offer was laughable. I knew the value of our trade-in before we even walked into the dealership. To top everything off, the vehicle we were going to buy was marked up over $7k above the average dealer retail price, because I looked it up on Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and NADA. We didn't make it that far, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have come down even close to an honest price. I would strongly advise against McLeod Auto Sales, because they are straight-up crooks and will just make you angry. I have never seen anything like it. I really hope this review helps some people.
