I love Dena Kitchen. I order from them once a month according to my grubhub history. The green curry with tofu is my favorite and I'll often get a side of steamed veggies to mix in so I have a nice big meal for dinner and a smaller portion for lunch the next day. Every now and then they'll include some sweet chips or crab rangoon for free in the delivery order ;) I've never actually dined in but I've picked up to-go orders at the restaurant and the atmosphere is nice. Having been to Thailand many times and having roots in Thailand, I have to say that Dena is extremely authentic but most important, delicious. Oh, and did mention they are very affordable. Dena is almost a hole in the wall type place that is located right next door to a Walgreens. Parking out front is plentiful. It is small, clean and cozy. The doos was really good pad sewee was wonderful, pad Thai was/I is better at Mannee Thai off Pulaski and Addison. They use wider noodles and their spice isn't just chilli sauce and oil. Pot stickers were without seafood and without pork, plus for us. Crab Rangoon were typ, no crab just cream cheese. Over all yummy. Fastest delivery I have every had! I do live embarrassingly close to this place, but it's snowing in October and I'm pregnant, so I still ordered delivery. From ordering on Grub Hub to my door was 15 minutes!! And the food is well prepared and fresh. I agree with the other reviews that the Rama is really good! The prices are very reasonable too. This is a big step up from the prior "restaurant" in this spot. I will happily order (delivery) from here again!! Glad to have some decent Thai food really close to me! I live close by, and this is my go to restaurant. That says a lot because all the restaurants in this area are amazing! The staff is always courteous and friendly. They go light on the salt, so your heart will thank you. Also, they use fresh ingredients and no MSG. Their pad thai is on the sweeter side, which is either a plus or minus depending on your preferences. (Plus for me!) Their fried rices are amazing. I've never skipped the crab rangoon. I walked over there for lunch yesterday, I had passed by it a few times in the past walking in the neighborhood and I had a craving for some chicken satay. Order was prepared relatively quickly (there were no other customers there at 1:15), maybe too quickly, more on that in a bit. I got the satay and potstickers, both of which tasted very good. Unfortunately I had some rather severe digestive issues discomfort last night, and have no explanation or change in my regular diet other than the meal I consumed yesterday afternoon. I've eaten here before and not had an issue, so I don't think it's a recurring problem, and I keep going back between 2 and 3 stars because of this, but I do wonder if the unnecessarily rushed this order because I was in the restaurant and they didn't want me to have to wait too long (I had not indicated that I was in a rush). I may try them again...but I'm a bit wary based on my experience. read more

I live 5 minutes walk away from this place. Ordered from them tonight more than an hour ago, still haven't got any food delivered. Called the restaurant, and they said the delivery guy left a long time ago with a car! Don't know what happened. But I sure want my 20% tip that I pre-paid back! Updates: Got my food, all cold and got rain on. No way to eat it. Called in to complain, the manager had a huge attitude. He laid out a whole bunch of excuses that simply sounded like they didn't wanna take any blame. Then he said according to their record, I'm a new costumer (which is not true at all! I've been getting food from them since they opened up!). Even if I were a new costumer, does that mean you don't need to appreciate my business? It took your delivery guy one hour and 15 mins to deliver to a 1-minute drive away place, maybe it's not me being picky, it's your service that sucks. So disappointed! I have not had one bad experience at Dena's Kitchen. I love how authentic this place is. I've been going there once every couple weeks at least and tried almost everything on their menu. My favorites: beef noodle soup (super flavorful and reminds me of home), duck curry (hands down the best Thai duck curry in Chicago), and baby eggrolls. Their curries are great and my toddlers can down like 3 orders of baby eggrolls. One of my favorite things about this place is that their ingredients are quality and fresh. They use fresh noodles instead of dry noodles and I can taste the difference. I recommend that when you are ordering any noodle dishes, eat it right away! Don't wait because they will stick. And then there's those lovely snacks to go.... I am addicted to their sweet chips---both the taro and plantain. SO good esp when they are freshly made. I've been back in Chicago for 8+ years and haven't found a Thai place that I absolutely adore until Dena's. Lucky me because they are just a few blocks from where I live! read more

Space is clean and inviting. Flavors are good. Portion sizes are small for price. We ordered two different dishes on recent visit. Plenty of carrots and onions. Key ingredients of each dish - protein, fruits, nuts, other vegetables - were lacking. We asked and paid for extra nuts and protein on this visit. There were still more carrots and onions in comparison to the other ingredients. Also noticed portion sizes have been shrinking over last year but prices continue to increase. My orders are mostly take out and I have never been offered the free Rangoons or Eggrolls mentioned in other reviews. Not best value for money. read more
