    I went in on a special event night with some manufacturer reps that were there to demo and answer…read morequestions. Had a great time, I was interested in subs at the time and was impressed by the JL audio demo. After the demo, I met Mike, Holm Audio owner. Seemed like a cool guy. He loaned me a couple of E110 subs to demo at home. He reached out via text to see how I was doing and negotiate a possible purchase. When I told him I was interested in demoing the E112's he told me they only one, he tried to sell me the 10 and 12 inch sub at a discount. I wasn't interested, as the size difference would bug me too much. So he asked me if was interested in anything else. I told him I was also interested in a direct to consumer subwoofer brand from Norway. Well I guess that upset him because he told me to return the subs right away, and that I would not be in his "VIP club". Needless to say, I returned the subs and did not make a purchase. This sucks because I really wanted to support a cool local Hifi shop like Mike's. But if he can't accept the fact that people are cross shopping consumer direct brands, he has a rude awakening coming. One star is for the staff, they have been nothing but amazing. In the end, I found a deal online for a pair of E112's that was better than what Mike could offer.

They dealt with the manufacturer to see if they would cover it. They wouldn't. Again, Neil to the rescue. He disassembled the device and found the problem. Something interfering with the contact between headphones and the device. Once that was removed, the device is like new. I thanked him profusely for his efforts and asked what I owe him for his efforts. His answer: nothing. Whoa! I think I'm bringing Neil a nice bottle of wine for his efforts. Thanks Holm audio.

I'm going out of my way this moment to write this review after just receiving an email update from Micro Center about an order I placed last night on 12/15/25 for an i5-14600K. Well... a problem arose with the order, and I don't want to say how Micro Center compensated me with their error, and put them in a position to do this for everyone... so I will just extend Micro Center an immense amount of sincere gratitude, and recommend everyone go out of their way to become a regular customer at Micro Center in Westmont, IL, instead of buying computer parts online... because believe me... being a long standing customer at this store will certainly pay off one day. So I start looking around for someone to help me. 5 min passed and not one employee was available to help. Not one. So I decided I'll go find the splitters in the meantime, found one that I needed but other one was evading me. This time I go around the store looking for someone to help me out. Finally gave up and asked an employee to help me out after they finished with their current customer. The kid wasnt even looking in my direction just nodded his head. I had every single item i needed in my Amazon cart, but I still chose to drive here to give them my business. A few minutes of waiting, I just put back whatever I picked up and left. Ordered it on Amazon instead right there in the store. Employees here don't want to help, you can walk miles in that store before anyone will even bat an eye. I don't recommend this place at all. Far from what it used to be.

I had to jump through many hoops to finally speak to a human being at the Downers Grove store. He was a very nice young man and confirmed finally that they did not carry the battery. As nice as he was and fairly knowledgeable, it was almost impossible to get to speak to a human being. It's getting to the point where everything is going to be online and while that seems convenient now, I fear that the death of customer service will affect us more than we think.

I did it right there in the store. Walked back to the same rep -- suddenly the system wouldn't allow the exchange. He sent me to the Geek Squad desk. Geek Squad and the store manager told me it has to be sent out for repair. I explained the problem in detail to the store manager who has the power to simply continue with store credit. "I'm sorry, I'm not going to do that" was his reply. All of this happened in a single visit. Three different answers, zero resolution. I wiped my entire computer based on an employee's instructions, and now I'm stuck setting it all back up with nothing to show for it. No accountability. No apology. No solution. Filing a BBB complaint. If you're bringing a device here, get everything in writing before you touch it.

It did take some time getting all of the equipment & parts needed, so if you are looking to put in a system for a particular event, I would plan well-in advance. However, we were kept informed. The basement is not entirely finished because it is used mostly by my teenage kiddos & their friends, but we did want an outstanding entertainment system for them to watch movies & play games. We opted for a projector & screen. We also wanted to integrate the Philips Hue system for a backlighting on the screen that coordinates with the picture. He & his colleagues built speaker boxes for us & the frame behind the screen upon which the lighting strip would rest. It came out amazing! They did an outstanding job. One year later, and all is still running smoothly. I have not had to reach back out to them for anything so far, but I was left with a strong impression that if we needed help with anything we would just be able to call. I feel confident that they would be supportive given the experience we had throughout the initial process.
