Purchased a flat screen tv from Best Buy. Today the service technician came out to install it. His name was Carlos. Everything was done in a professional manner with no drama and in a reasonable timeframe. This was a big difference from when I used ABT which was horrible. Carlos was understanding in installing and explaining the various features. Exceeded all my expectations. read more

Employee told me to wipe my laptop. Then they still couldn't help me. I brought my laptop in for an exchange. The counter rep told me I needed to factory reset it first. I did it right there in the store. Walked back to the same rep -- suddenly the system wouldn't allow the exchange. He sent me to the Geek Squad desk. Geek Squad and the store manager told me it has to be sent out for repair. I explained the problem in detail to the store manager who has the power to simply continue with store credit. "I'm sorry, I'm not going to do that" was his reply. All of this happened in a single visit. Three different answers, zero resolution. I wiped my entire computer based on an employee's instructions, and now I'm stuck setting it all back up with nothing to show for it. No accountability. No apology. No solution. Filing a BBB complaint. If you're bringing a device here, get everything in writing before you touch it. read more

Years ago this was the place to get movies games computers I phones it was the best. It's currently in my opinion and by the reviews others feel the same way a down slide. The geek squad couldn't even install a sims card in a new iPhone I bought. And I've purchased appliances open box pure junk had to get rid of in less than two years. Done this place and I predict this place won't be around for much longer. This from my experiences read more

I'm buying a $1,200 phone, and I've been waiting for more than 20 minutes. I asked every sales associate for help, and they all kept telling me, "I don't know," or "There are no associates available. Please keep waiting." I do not recommend this place at all. read more

Best Buy - Tienda - Appliances Near Me - Downers Grove, Illinois

I have not actually been inside the Best Buy for probably a year, but I was looking for a camera battery. I had to jump through many hoops to finally speak to a human being at the Downers Grove store. He was a very nice young man and confirmed finally that they did not carry the battery. As nice as he was and fairly knowledgeable, it was almost impossible to get to speak to a human being. It's getting to the point where everything is going to be online and while that seems convenient now, I fear that the death of customer service will affect us more than we think. read more

Be very careful purchasing anything from best buy, especially online. Unless you pay for a special membership, they only give you 15 days to return something, even if it was unused You are much better buying from amazon or another retailer that has a much more generous return policy. read more

Best Buy - Neal. Accept no substitute! He's in laptops. - Appliances Near Me - Downers Grove, Illinois

Never really had any issue with Best Buy. If you've been in one, you already know what this one looks like. It was well stocked, clean, and quiet. I walked around a bit, and several employees did ask if I needed any help. Just bought some Tiles for my keychain. Only weird thing about this store is that the registers up front are not occupied. The checkout is at customer service by returns. It's awkward to find the line entrance with the fixture they have acting as a partition. Maybe it's the time of day that dictates registers being open? read more

I purchased an "Open Box - Excellent" condition GE Profile Convection Microwave oven online, then picked it up at the Downers Grove location, an hour away from my home. Once home I discovered the Microwave was brand new, still had the plastic on it, in excellent condition. Missing is the turntable tray and roller ring, making it unusable. I went on GE's website and purchased both for $111 including shipping. I attempted to phone the store and ended up in AI BOT jail, then transferred to the corporate customer service line. The person I spoke with told me Open Box items, no matter the condition listed, are "buyer beware" and if I wasn't satisfied I could bring the microwave back. Apparently they never read the Best Buy Open Box page on their web site, where Excellent is still covered by warranty and contains all components and packaging, etc. I'm a Best Buy Total Member who just paid near retail price for an Open Box item some kid in the store who "certified it" didn't know what they were doing. Ridiculous. Buyer Beware this location. read more

I used to love browsing around Best Buy, but it definitely feels half full. Ever since they discontinued selling physical media, the store has so much empty space. Even the video game section is a lot smaller since I like looking at the physical copies in person. I only came to look at the TVs and appliances. As for the employees, we went half an hour before they closed, so everyone asked if we had any questions. The only thing I didn't like is having an AT&T associate try to switch my phone plan to AT&T, just to get a last minute commission. If I want to switch, I would go to the actual store. I would give them a 2. Since everything is on their website, there's not much selection to look at in person. read more

I purchased an online order for curbside pick-up, upon arrival at this location I checked in to let them know what spot I was waiting in and received a confirmation number to show them. After waiting ten minutes, I walked in and met Yessenia at the front cashier desk to let her know that I was waiting for my curbside pick-up. She told me to come over to the pick-up area and she would check me out. There wasn't a single customer in sight at check-out, and hardly any customers in the store at 12:40pm on a Monday. I'm not sure why they have a curbside pick-up option if they're going to stand around and wait for the customer to come in instead. If it's that difficult to walk 30 paces from the front of the store, you shouldn't even have the option so we're not waiting in the parking lot. I would understand if the store was busy, but obviously your employees need more training or motivation to do their job properly. Best, Charlie read more

How is this place still in business? 14 day return window only. Otherwise, no refunds, not even a store credit. How is this feasible for holiday shopping? If you want an extended return window you need to join a club for $50. What a joke. So many better stores to shop with better customer service. Never shopping here again, that's for sure. read more

Summary of Purchase Issue at Best Buy Introduction On March 15th, I visited Best Buy in Downers Grove to pick up Insta 360 X3 batteries I ordered online. While there, I decided to buy a removable lens guard. A shift supervisor helped me find it, but I later discovered the box was empty. Key Points * At Best Buy, the shift supervisor assisted in locating the removable lens guard, which was not visible on the shelves. * He brought out a box that seemed to contain the lens guard, but upon shaking it and checking, it appeared he knew the box had been opened before. * After purchasing the item, I opened the box at home on March 17th and found only a product information pamphlet inside; the actual lens guard was missing. * I feel frustrated that the supervisor, who inspected the box, sold it to me knowing it was empty for $20. * I attempted to resolve the issue by calling the store but was connected to a call center and informed that I needed to return to the same store to handle it. * Although I was told I could return it to any Best Buy, I expressed concerns about proving the box was empty without the original employee's acknowledgment. * I mentioned I have video evidence of the transaction showing the supervisor handing me the box. * I request the product be sent directly to my address instead of going through a complicated return process. * My member ID number is 2707-1016 84 for account verification. I have also updated my contact information while in the store. * I included a link to a YouTube video related to my current legal issues related to my body cam. Conclusion Overall, I seek resolution for receiving an empty box and wish to obtain the correct product without further inconvenience. I do not have social media and this is why I needed to create another review on this platform. My first review was posted to google with reference 64940516. Is there another way to contact best buy other than social media? I have provided my member ID# 2707-101684 which would give all my current information. I have also included my receipt so you can verify I purchase the item. This should help with looking up the order. I can give you all email address to continue conversation off platform. The 75th and Lemont store in Downers Grove: I placed an order this morning for an item listed as "in stock." The website implied the order would be ready in about an hour, but 11 hours later, the status still shows "Preparing your Order." I've called the store with no success, tried their chatbot--which is completely useless--and attempted to use their website's verification process, only to find myself stuck in a frustrating loop. It takes 15 minutes for the verification codes to arrive, and by the time they do, the codes are already expired. After over an hour of this, I finally gave up. As a loyal customer of 20+ years, I am deeply disappointed. This will be my final purchase from Best Buy. I plan to cancel my Best Buy credit card immediately and will be leaving negative reviews to share my experience. I will also discourage everyone I know from shopping there. Trusting Best Buy's competency was a mistake. I wish Yelp allowed 0-star reviews because the one star is being extremely generous. I am also escalating this to the district-level. Moving forward, all my business will go to GameStop, which handled my online order flawlessly--ready in less than an hour from a store just four doors down. read more

We went into the store today to purchase a washing machine that the store had. We knew the model and all we needed to do was place the order. Unfortunately there was only one employee working Appliances and she was showing a couple options on appliances for a total kitchen and that was going to be awhile. We waited and then after a while my husband went to the front and asked if someone else was available to help us. She said sadly only one was working that department. So we waited some more. Eventually we left. We drove to Home Depot and actually saved on the purchase but felt that the store should have at least a back up option. read more

I am visiting Illinois for an important meeting, and my laptop suddenly died the day before the meeting begins. I called Geek Squad at the Downers Grove location, in a panic, and got an appointment for within the hour. Bradley, the associate who assisted me, was friendly, knowledgeable, and pinpointed (and solved) my problem so quickly I was a little embarrassed. He offered to clean my laptop while I was there, and the charge was reasonable and gladly paid. I bought the laptop at a Best Buy in California and have never had a problem with it before today. Today's problem turned out to be 'operator error' in a way, so I have absolutely never had a problem with any interaction with Best Buy anywhere. read more

I have now been into this location twice recently. Both times there are multiple associated walking around doing absolutely nothin or playing on their phones. They literally see you needing help and don't do anything. The first time we Were in for a laptop for my boyfriends dad. We were in the laptop area for 10-15 minutes and not a single person came over to ask if we need help. This week we went in as I got a new work laptop and need to get an adapter to hook to my second screen. I was literally sitting on the floor with my laptop and a bunch of cords trying to figure out what adapter I needed for a good 10 minutes. Not a single employee came over and asked if I needed assistance. When we left they had no registers open and there were three guys standing at the front chatting and doing nothing. My review is for Geek Squad and in store management customer service. After spending a significant amount of money on 3 new TVs and mounting service from geek squad , both Best Buy and Geek Squad refuse to reinstall one of the TVs that they failed to properly mount. At the time of install the issue was pointed out and I was told one of the managers would be in touch. This was 3+ weeks ago. Calling the store and geek squad have been a complete waste of time. Ive always bought home electronics from Best Buy mainly because I'd assume their customer service would be better than this. I wouldn't recommend geek squad or Best Buy after my recent experience read more

We bought a Bosch dishwasher at Best Buy 8 months ago. After 2 weeks it stopped working. We called Best Buy and were told there was nothing they could do and we had to call Bosch because it had been more than 10 days. Bosch has still not replaced our broken unit so we are basically out $1,700.00. I do not recommend buying an appliance from Best Buy. If it malfunctions, you are on your own. Going forward we will purchase all of our appliances from ABT. We bought an oven from ABT 10 years ago, it stopped working a few weeks ago and they came out right away and fixed it. I stopped in because this is where I bought my phone and I'm having issues. I knew I shouldn't have bought it from Best buy but I did. Andy... The gm... was just ridiculous today. I brought in my 2 month old phone for yet another issue. I thought the warranty I purchased would cover issues. They can replace it with a refurbished one. Not cool. My phone is new!! Andy refuses to replace a new phone with a new phone. He offer offers to refund my warranty purchase . Omg. Does that make any sense? I'm having issues with phone so he wants to take away the warranty. Wow. Stupid offer. I tell him of intermittent problem. He does some "test" and says the phone is working perfectly. I told him it may be working NOW but there is something wrong. He replies. That makes no sense . It's working but not working? Omg. This man should definitely not be in a place of customer service. I just feel those comments were so ignorant. And I guess I may as well add this as well. When I purchased my phone a young girl at the phone desk helped me do a transfer. She wanted to do it a certain way so all of my pictures will remain in my folders. So we did it and it got messed up. Nobody knew how to fix it. I went to my provider and they said what I was told was all wrong. They wiped my phone and did it again and it works perfectly. I wasn't going to say anything but now this is two strikes. read more

Horrible experience. The staff didnt know how to solve a basic problem of a broken ipad screen. After talking with 3 managers about the solution to my problem they threatened to call the police on me. When I spoke to the manager the entire team lied to him and forgot to inform him of my problem, they attempted to deceive him and didnt tell him the company threatened legal action against me. He had no clue they did that. That's a leadership problem. They don't respect their manager enough to be honest to him and will lie to you and him to do less work. They also are drunks, multiple staff members had a strong smell of alcohol on them at 1 in the afternoon. When I discussed this with management he immediately disregarded my concern and said no one here drinks. And yet he has images of him drinking a beer on this site. Because that's what customers want, a drunk, lazy and deceitful manager. I am shocked they advertise this and don't take their customers concerns seriously. Don't believe me? The picture on this very site has a pic of the manager drinking beer! How much more advertising do you need to see the entire store are drunks and proud of it. So proud they even advertise their ability to drink on a corporate site. So unprofessional at this location, I don't expect best buy to be around long with this kind of abilities. if i could give the Geek Squad desk negative 100 stars, i would. I bought a laptop, with the assurance from Geek Squad and my BB sales person, i could check Apple store, and if i changed my mind, the computer and the software was completely returnable and they would wait to load the software until i returned with my old computer. I went to Apple that same evening and ended up purchasing a new laptop there. Returned to Best Buy very next day, and they would not return my laptop, without charging me a $175.00 Geek Squad fee. Called my credit card company, and they said, dispute it. I did, and Best Buy told Chase that i had the computer (it never left the store). Finally, after extensive emailing and letter writing, they refunded the cost of the laptop but charged me a $82 fee for storing it. Huh? I used to shop Best Buy all the time --no longer. I walked into this Best Buy on a Wednesday morning, around 10:30, not a busy time at all. I was looking to buy a new TV. There were maybe 5 other people in the store. When I walked in, the worker who sits by the door just looked at me, didn't say hi or acknowledge me, just gave me a look and looked back down at his paper. I looked at almost every single TV, comparing the pros and cons of each, for probably about 20-30 minutes. During this time, not one worker came up to me and asked if I needed help or anything. Several walked by, didn't even look or say hi to me. The customer service here is awful, especially for a retail store who prides itself on selling high end electronics.
