I chose Dr. Julio Narvaez for my PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) elective eye surgery. Not only is he highly skilled, but he patiently walked me through various options (including LASIK) answering all of my questions based on the latest research and his insight of what would work best for me, taking into consideration my desires. He is such a skilled surgeon, and he truly cares about me as a person, much like the country physicians of the past, caring for me as they would a family member. The support team is also so helpful, even when facing many competing tasks. They carry smiles and work hard to minimize any waiting. I am always seen within minutes of arriving. Absolutely NO! Beware! They crowd you in...don't pay attention, dilate your eyes too many times (or forgot they dilated them and then dilate them again). The Stockton office is very BAD! You wait for at least 40+ minutes. Their Optometrist "yells" at you because when I asked, she said "old people can't hear". The Lodi office is just as bad. They have so many people doing whatever, one to dilate your eyes and re-dilate your eyes, one to check your eyes, one to actually examine your eyes, one to "advise" you AND they charge you to get an eye prescription even though I have insurance! Can you believe that! That's what I thought an office visit was for! STAY AWAY! read more

Dr Chen really cares about his patients! He sits down and explains all of your options for treatment! I had to have cataract surgery and he used a laser which provides optimum results! Dr. Chen isn't a good doctor, he's an exception to the rule. I'm a retired ICU RN and I will tell you, Dr. Chen is a GREAT doctor in every sense. Not only does he have the deep knowledge and exemplary fine motor control along with this incredible life discipline, he is humble and kind to the extreme. How many doctors will bow their head to the Lord God and pray with a patient before surgery, knowing the outcome is ultimately in God's hands. That is a a GREAT doctor and I am beyond fortunate to have him as my opthalmologist. They have been so responsive to my issues. Dr. Chen performed cataract surgery in the Fall on both eyes. Two weeks ago, my right eye was bloodshot badly---couldn't see any white, I had a small bleed. I called Dr. Chen's office, concerned that my eye condition could be something serious. They got me right in that afternoon, and assured me it was simply a 'bruise', nothing more serious. Since then, the bleeding subsided and I can see the whites of my eye again. Everyone there is so helpful, friendly, and competent. I've been seeing Dr. Chen now for about 10 years, and appreciate his gentle manner. He's very calming, and exudes confidence. Everything I've gone to him for has been resolved positively. I have had a world of troubles with this business. I have no problems with their doctors. It is their admin people that there incompetent. I have needed to get my cataract worked on for over a year and a half. I have been unable to get them done due to the fact their surgery coordinator to call me back. It's like pulling teeth to get them to respond. I have to show up to get a response. I am so tired of dealing with a business that will not respond. read more

Absolutely disgusting treatment of my father who has Parkinson's. Wait and wait while other patients come and go is frustrating enough, but then after asking about it, they put him in another little room by himself for another hour. Coming up on two hours now and STILL nothing. When asked why my appointment wasn't even close to being on time, I was told they have TWO schedules. Apparently we weren't on any of them.
