Excellence and cleanliness seem to be their standard. The front office staff is very friendly and welcoming. Mercedes in the back office is amazing! She's a ray of sunshine. She interacts with the patients so beautifully and it's obvious that she enjoys her job. There are many staff members, and they seem to be uplifting toward one another. It feels like a family. Dr. Garcha was excellent and I had a very thorough eye exam. He's down-to-earth, friendly and he took time to explain everything very clearly to me. Sounds a little silly, but I'm already looking forward to my annual eye exam next year!

Dr. Ing is an extremely nice doctor, so patient and a highly trained doctor. In addition to Delta Eye Center in Stockton, Dr Ing now sees patients in Modesto at Sylvan Eye Center on Fridays. In Nov 2016, Dr Ing performed cataract surgery on my left eye, and in Dec 2016, performed cataract surgery on my right eye. I had astigmatism in both eyes, so I opted for laser cataract surgery. Dr Ing is a genius! I now do not depend on glasses or contact lens for vision correction, only need glasses for reading. We are so fortunate to have Dr Ing in the Central Valley. Dr Ing is by far the best ophthalmologist in the Central Valley.

I explained that I had spots before due to a cataract, but this was absolutely different. I was directed to the nurse and I left a message. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, I realize that no one had gotten back to me and that they closed at four . I called again. Spoke to the same receptionist again. Although her customer service was basic, her attention to detail was poor. I was pretty upset so she said that she would speak to the doctor. I have no idea if she did or not. Long story short I was directed to go to the emergency room if it got worse if not, I could see them the following Tuesday or Thursday. I ended up going to the emergency room at 9 PM and they sent me via ambulance to UC Davis. I had a complete detached retina and a few other complications. I was told by the emergency room doctor and also by a doctor that I spoke with at UC Davis that had I waited, I could have completely lost my vision. The next week I called the office and asked to speak to the office manager. I was told first that he was out sick, then I was told that he was at lunch, and then I was told he went home for the day. I actually left two messages for him. To this day I have never received a phone call back from anyone. To add insult to injury, I received a phone call back from the nurse on the following Monday. She stated I should get a hold of the front office and let them know that I needed an appointment. Again, no urgency. It was obvious that they did not communicate with one another. I understand that I am certainly not the only patient but this was a true emergency. In the past, I have had amazing care at this office. I saw Dr. Chen for years and have great respect for him and his son. I am highly disappointed that I have not received a phone call back and that no one actually cared that I was literally going blind. I would recommend UC Davis, Eye Center for any issues that anyone has. In closing, I will not be returning to this office . I am only sharing this in hopes that they may actually listen to the next patient with this or any other issue. Had I not been my own advocate, and gone to the emergency room, I'm not sure what would have happened. Connie Ibarra

I already knew Dr. Yee from when he would see patients in the hospital. Our staff and patients have always loved him because he was approachable, kind and really knew his stuff. Now I can say the same as a patient as well. I honestly feel like I can ask him any question (as dumb as it may seem) and have a real discussion about my health. He's even gone as far as correcting my medical file with the right diagnoses. Staff have also been very friendly, approachable and kind to me whenever I've been there. Making an appointment has been easy over the phone and he usually is able to see me in a reasonably timely manner!

I scheduled an appointment to do a comprehensive eye exam, as it's been over a year since doing one. Upon check-in, I had to complete several pages of my medical history prior to being taken to the back. Thankfully, filling out the paperwork did not take too long whatsoever. The staff member who assisted me for the majority of the visit was Tanisha. Tanisha displayed nothing but a positive attitude and was extremely helpful from start to finish. Veronica also helped me out briefly, and she provided a pleasant level of care and customer service. Finally, I was greeted by the ophthalmologist - Soungmin Cho, M.D. What I appreciated the most was his thoroughness, professionalism, and reassurance about my eyes. He indicated that he didn't find anything concerning, which was such a huge positive thing to hear. Dr. Cho also provided helpful tips for maintaining my overall eye health. Glasses were not imperative and an absolute need for my situation, though they were still offered. I proceeded to order glasses anyway, just in case my eyes don't want to cooperate in some moments. The brand of the glasses I ordered was by Michael Kors. The frames are absolutely gorgeous and I'm in love with them. The glasses were ready for pick up on Wednesday, 04/08/26. I was not able to pick them up successfully until Tuesday, 04/28/26, due to my demanding schedule. Overall, the entire appointment regarding eye care was straightforward and an easy process. I had a lovely, incredible experience from the hospitality of the staff members/doctor to the quality of the glasses. I highly recommend coming here for quality patient care and vision needs.

I made an appointment with Rhea, the automated system just to walk in the office and be told I had no appointment. Also, the cost of frames is ridiculous. I needed a paid of glasses for my son and they were $400! Went to to Costco and got the same ones 2 for $70. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone.

I've been a loyal patient and customer…read morehere for over ten years and have watched Brookside continuously go downhill as it appears they are trying to cut operating costs. My family of three all wear glasses and we've all had trouble getting our glasses in a timely manner. Three times now our lenses have come back with quality issues. Currently, it seems they're shipping out to a lab in Texas, causing around three weeks turn around. We've also had issues with the lenses' quality being subpar now (cracks not caused by us dropping/damaging, sunglasses lenses being too light), and the repairs also take another three weeks to fix. A handful of times we weren't notified that glasses were ready for pick up, despite us calling in for updates. They rely on a text system to alert us, but we haven't always gotten an alert to our phone numbers on file. Additionally, frame brand options keep dwindling. Brookside no longer carries the variety we originally came here for. Furthermore, it's frustrating to call and get to talk to an AI assistant robot. If I wanted big box instead of a Stockton business, I'd not be shopping here. You try and talk to someone, but their hands seem tied to their business model. Unfortunately, it is time to take our family's needs elsewhere.
