That said, I ended up having a very a very disappointing outcome from my rhinoplasty, which he preformed 5.5 years ago. I came to him to have the tip of my nose thinned out. He ended up convincing me that I also needed to have a dorsal implant placed to raise the height of the bridge of my nose. He said that if he thinned the cartilage at the tip and did not augment the bridge that it would look like I had some sort of "syndrome" (his words, not mine), because my nose was short and that combined with the tip reduction would make it too small. So I trusted him and went forward with his recommendation. Initially, I was not totally dissatisfied with the appearance, but it definitely took some getting used to. I felt it was (at least), better than it had been before. But as time passed, the implant became mobile and would shift, especially as I slept. I would literally have to "snap" it back into place several times during the night, very uncomfortable. I called his office about the problem several years ago to ask if this was normal, and was told the nurse would ask Dr. Vu and call me back, which never happened. I again called a few weeks later, and was told I'd have to schedule an appointment to have Dr. Vu asses it. I had since moved to San Diego, so this was not a possibility. Another year or so went by and it actually began to extrude at the tip (you could see it beginning to poke through the skin), so I decided enough was enough. He had told me at the time he performed the surgery that if I was not happy with it, he could remove it in his office under a local. Again I called and asked what the procedure would entail, and how much it would cost. I was so desperate at this point, I was willing to plan a trip North to get it done. As it turns out, the price they quoted me was several hundred dollars more than I had been quoted by a local surgeon here in San Diego for the very same thing. No brainer, right? About ten days ago I had the damn thing removed by this local doctor, and am so much happier with how it looks and feels. I feel like if Dr. Vu had just done what I initially went to him for, instead of making me feel like I would look like I had something wrong with me if I didn't, that this could have all been avoided. As it is, I ended up spending another $2,200 to correct this problem down here. I will include a side-by-side photos taken about ten days pre and then post removal, you tell *me* which looks best?

I'm 38, almost 39 and the past couple of years I started to notice a little bit of sagging and fullness in my neck and super loose skin on my upper eyelids. It's been difficult to apply makeup on my eyes the past couple of years. What I liked about facetite is it tightens the neck as well as my lower face and I definitely had fullness in my lower face. Procedure day was great! I took some Valium to help me relax. Dr. Liu carefully marked me and made sure I knew what he was going to do and that I was happy with the plan. Numbing me up was the worst part, but even so, it was completely tolerable, especially with the Valium on board. He was gentle and took his time and after just a couple minutes I was numb and then felt no pain the rest of the procedure. He had some good music playing, I was able to talk if I needed to and he made sure to check in with me throughout the treatment. When we were done his extremely kind and knowledgeable assistant put a compression wrap on me, and then I was on my way home. When I got home I started icing and kept my head elevated. I took two doses of pain meds but honestly I probably didn't even need it. The next morning I woke up with zero pain, unless I touched the treatment areas. But I'm on day three and haven't needed a pain med, except for that first day. I only have three tiny sutures for the facetite. One behind each ear and one of the chin. My neck is SNATCHED and my eyes are like they were 20 years ago. No more wrinkling when I put on eyeliner or creasing of my makeup as the day goes on and I'm so happy with this whole experience. I had no idea my neck could look this good!! Highly recommend FaceTite with Dr. Liu.

I asked his opinion of what might be best for my face and he suggested a brow lift and a facelift which included my neck. The thought of the brow lift initially scared me so I was reticent and thought perhaps I shouldn't do it. What I loved was that Dr. Lavey did not push me into the brow lift it at all. After another consult I decided to proceed with the brow lift in addition to my facelift and I'm so glad I did. What a huge difference. I was given a prescription for a strong pain medication to use after the procedure if I wanted, but I never needed anything other than over the counter Tylenol. All that worrying was for not because there was no pain with my procedures! It's more of a weird feeling because things are tight and numb. Incredible!
