Sampled 12 of the 14 wines and really enjoyed the vast majority! Especially loved the peach and blackberry wines, as well as the "Dulce Nectar Morado" red. They have a great event space for weddings, etc. and a lovely back patio area where you can enjoy wine, cheese, and crackers while overlooking the vineyard. (And if you didn't bring your own snacks, you can purchase some and they will provide a knife and cutting board.) DelMonaco is about an hour and a half from Nashville and an excellent stop on the way to or from Cummins Falls State Park! read more

Truly a beautiful winery. Plenty of parking and seating both indoor and out. Wine bottles around $20 each. Staff very friendly and helpful. The wine was hit and miss for what we liked, but that is just our opinion. We came closer to closing but definitely wished we had more time here. Great stop when leaving the waterfall! read more

So friendly!! Allie was wonderful and not only knew her wine but gave us some local places to venture to!! Not expensive at all! Quaint and peaceful beautiful landscaping! Picnic table and swing by the tree brings me back to being a kid! I just want to climb the tree like when I was a kid.. well it could be the wine talking lol! My husband and I stopped here on our way to Nashville and enjoyed the Sunday brunch. The dining area is very nicely decorated and there are a few outside tables. The brunch menu is quite limited, but what we ordered was cooked as requested in a reasonably short time. Everyone who worked there was very nice. The Beermosa was so-so, I would not order it again. After breakfast, we went to the winery section and sampled two of the wines with train names and bought a bottle of each as they were quite good. read more

We stopped here overnight with Harvest Host, but were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The menu is somewhat limited because it's a winery, but the food is FANTASTIC! We had the pulled pork nachos, strip steak with chimichurri, and mac and cheese for the kids. The prices were very reasonable, and the staff were so friendly. I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you find yourself anywhere near this place, you should definitely stop in. read more

I am love this place! Its the best of both worlds- its a large winery with an amazing banquet hall and a large wine tasting bar. They are very equipped to deal with large and small groups. Barbara and David are also very sweet and once you get a good Margarita in David then he has some good stories for you! We have been members of the wine cellar club for several years . We truly enjoy the majority of their wines . We have always enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the owners Barbara and David along with the staff . The one exception was last month when we picked up our wines and we were waited on by a new face that we hadn't seen before ( Shelley ) They weren't crowded only 3 couples in there at the time and two staff members . Shelley waited on us as we were there for a pick up but my husband wanted to taste a couple of the dry wines , he has had a change in his taste for wines and now is leaning more toward the dry wines . Shelley gave him a tasting and then two gentleman came in and she waited on them as well . We felt as we were a bother to her after the other two gentleman came in . She had no interest on waiting on us . Shelley came back to us and I ask for a tasting and she poured my tasting in my husbands glass ....she never gave me a glass I actually had to ask her for my own glass and she said sure . We were picking up wines for us and another couple and one order had been placed on line and prepaid for 3 boxes she gave us 3 bottles instead of 3 bottles we had to correct her on that as well . We really were disappointed In the service we received , not sure we will continue to patronize since we drive up from Nashville to pick up wines . This review is aimed at people that have traveled a lot, experienced many things/cultures, and tasted many different wines. DelMonaco will most likely be a let-down for you. Positives are that the staff was helpful and kind. This review is hard to write because it does seem like they are trying.. but as nice as they were I still feel I need to write this review to help other people similar to myself know what to expect. I planned a trip to this winery for my husband's 32nd birthday. We brought a cheese board to eat out in the vineyard with our wine and then planned to stay for a dueling piano show later that evening that included dinner. When we got to the vineyard we were the only ones sitting out in the vineyard area. There are picnic tables out in the field area (which is directly beside the parking lot- we sat on the same side of the picnic table so that one of us was not facing the cars) which are all located in the sun except for one. We then wanted to have a walk of the grounds which I had read on Yelp were lovely... we were disappointed. The grounds are pretty small and there is what looks like a man-made swamp/pond in the middle with a bridge built over it that didn't make sense to us as we could never imagine wanting to walk over it or take a picture on it? During the piano show we were among a crowd of largely retirement age/seniors and local small-town folk. Again, this is not necessarily a negative, just wanting to give a good idea of the atmosphere. The dinner we were served was inedible.. the pasta sauce was clearly a pre-made grocery store bottled sauce and the chicken in the sauce was either canned chicken or had come from a bag of frozen grilled chicken. This was disappointing considering the price we had paid for the ticket. We left the show about 20 minutes after it started to go grab something to eat. Lastly, we were not impressed with the wines, but everyone's taste differs. Unfortunately, we do not expect to be making the hour drive from Nashville to visit again any time soon. read more

Delmonaco Winery and bistro was Devine. The wine was out of this world with so many choices to choose from. The food was really yummy. We ended up trying the pork nacho (so good), Mac and cheese (cheese, yummy), crab raggoon ( good, I like ragoons fire not baked), and the steak/ w parsley vinaigrette ( so tender and tangy) great combo. My parents took me to DelMonaco for my birthday on March 15, and we had a great time. It was the first day of the year that wasn't cold or rainy and miserable so it was a perfect day for drinking wine on their patio. William and Pam, the two employees who were offering the wine tastings were very friendly and welcoming. We did a tasting, but not a tour. You can try all 13 of their wines for only $5 which is a great deal, and they just revamped their wine list. Another reviewer mentioned their wine is "horrible" and "unpalatable". I think that statement is really unfair, but I do agree the majority of their wines are SUPER sweet. I personally prefer dry wines, but the sweet wines weren't horrible. They were not for my taste, but I could tell they were good quality wines. The most memorable wines for me were the Sweet Whisper Peach and the Jammin Blackberry. The Sweet Whisper Peach is made exclusively with peaches-no grapes at all. It was a little too syrupy for me, but the flavor was quite unique. My mom liked it enough to buy a bottle. The Jammin Blackberry was the best blackberry wine I've ever tasted. The sweetness was off set by the high alcohol content. I can't remember the exact percentage, but I believe it was between 20-30% alcohol content. It tasted more like a blackberry liqueur. The winery is about an hour and a half east of Nashville. It's a really fun experience. If you're visiting Nashville, I wouldn't suggest driving all that way just to visit this winery, but if you're already in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping by. Center Hill Lake and Edgar Evins State Park are also close to this area and are perfect for nature lovers. read more

Rachel made the day sooooo much fun! She explained all of the wines during the tasting and was very helpful while I set up the decorations and games (grape stomp) outside. The grounds are beautiful however their pours are very very small, barely enough to wet your palate. We are from out of state and they wouldn't budge on the rule of four person minimum for a sit down wine tasting which was disappointing. Would not go back when back in town . read more

Wine is horrible. Unpalatable. Venue is pretty - but if only 2 of the 11 wines in the tasting are passably drinkable - there is a problem.... If you like sweeeeet wine - or fruit wine the you will be happy. My wife and I did the wine train- and were hoping there would be a decent wine at the vineyard- or beer... No luck. They need to invest some time improving the quality of the wine to justify the venue. read more

Cute winery near Cummins State park. They will give you 3 wines to taste for free or for around $10 you can try all 15 or so of their wines. The Blackberry wine was the group favorite- sweet but not too sweet with a good flavor of blackberry. The rose was also really good. "BEST.WINERY.TOUR.EVER!" I had bought a Groupon several weeks back for this winery - $40 for 4 people - to celebrate my wife's birthday. This included a tasting of all of the wine selections they sold, a tour of the winery, 4 glasses and 2 bottles of wine. In and of itself this was a great deal. Their wines sell in the $18 per bottle range. We got there around 4 as our reservation was for 4:00. The host was OK - just another day on the job. We sampled all the wines, went downstairs and got a little history lesson on the winery, etc. We went into the vat room, stood behind the cord and got a general description of the process... But then! My wife asked how many bottles were filled from each oak barrel. Just so happens the wine maker had just gotten back from a small vacation and was running some tests. We were taken into his lab where he took over the tour and started telling us about all the different variations of acids and tannins and oxygen and on and on, but then! He took us under the ropes and back to one of the vats he was currently working on. Oh...before he led us back there he gave each of us a REAL wine glass. He proceeded to further explain the wine making process and stopped at a vat. He gave each of us a generous pour straight from the vat. He went on and explained the difference between what it currently tasted like and what it should taste like - tannins, acids, clay, oxygen, co2 introductions, yeast, bacteria, etc, etc....this was a red. He further enhanced the tour by taking us to a secluded area where he had "hidden" a Chardonnay that he was working on. It was in an alcove, behind stacks of empty wine bottles and covered in cardboard to retain a certain temperature. We (well me anyway) had to turn sideways just to get through the boxes. He syphoned each of us a good pour of the white wine using one of his instruments and asked what we detected in the current taste. He offered my wife a job as she detected a good percentage of the flavors that he expected. According to him, the wine had gone dormant and would need the introduction of additional bacteria and yeast to get it to where it needed to be. C.J. the winemaker made our experience here the best wine tour we have ever witnessed. He graciously allowed us to take a photo with him - not in the vineyards, but where he lives - in the basement - in front of a multitude or empty wine bottles...wish you all could experience this, but it was one of those "right place, right time" moments. read more

My daughter visited last Thanksgiving...from Florida! Took her by the Winery and she loved it. Bought a case to take home and now orders and has it shipped. Great tasting and service. Plus the wines are outstanding.. especially for the price! Not far from my home, so easy to drop by and get what I want. She now has several friends that Love Del Monaco also. Our server was an older white lady who quickly display racists behaviours. Acting as if it was an inconvenience to wait on you, messing around with a tablet, and avoiding eye contact, but being attentive to white customers. One of the younger servers tried to interject and provide some sort of service but the older woman brushed her off. We left after one taste. Wine taste okay but be warned; there is an older woman server that you must avoid if you are not white. By the way , I am white male 30 year military veteran but my lovely wife is African American. read more

What a wonderful little southern winery... We had a quick tour the views were nice and the building amazing for a wedding! During our tasting we met the owner as she filled a glass of wine for herself... Super nice and funny lady! We bought two bottles of wine to go home with, they didn't last long. They sell bottles to help support the local college which is amazing... The wine wasn't to shabby either :) if we are ever back in the area I will for certain try to take one of their themed train trips!!!! read more

I had a nice time on a LivingSocial adventure here at Delmonaco Winery. The staff was amazingly friendly and I loved the production tour. The facility is great. Owner David told some great stories by the bonfire and I found a few wines that I enjoyed. I liked the Whistle-Stop Red and the Chardonnay best, but I think they're more known for their sweeter wines, like the Blueberry dessert wine. Not being a huge sweet wine fan, I'm not sure I'll make the ~90-minutes-from-downtown-Nashville trek out to Delmonaco super often. I did really enjoy my time here, however! The gift shop is super cute, wines are reasonably priced and the grounds are pretty. read more

This place was amazing. My husband and I just moved to East Tennessee from California and they made us feel right at home. The vineyards are beautiful, the building blew me away a little (not what I expected for the location) and we were greeted by very friendly staff. As for the wine...it was the best East Tennessee has to offer. My husband and I have visited 20 something wineries in the area and this one stands alone. The reds they produce are well above average for the area. They are not highly focused on the sweet wine but have intelligently Incorporated it in a few varieties. I would say, if you are a wine connoisseur of any level make time to visit the DelMonaco family, it will be worth the trip. read more
