Such a cute spot! We stumbled upon this place during a recent trip and stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't crowded, which made for a relaxing experience. What a great winery! We were headed back from NC and had already made a mental note to stop off on our way back home. There's cleared signage off the interstate and parking is no problem. We did a flight taste and really enjoyed it all. The mulled wine was excellent and we purchased some sachets to make at home. It was a Sunday afternoon and there was live music as we sat in the main room with our wine and ordered shrimp and grits. They were delicious! We didn't get to stay long but enjoyed our time, wine, and late lunch. We can't wait to go back! read more

My last time here I loved most things about this spot. But that just goes to show you that consistency is something demonstrated over time and that was definitely missing today. We arrived at 11 am (1 hour into brunch service). After we ordered (with 3 out of 4 of us ordering an egg dish), we were told that they had run out of eggs but that the manager was headed to Sam's Club for more. I could give you all the gory details but suffice it to say that when 4 people arrive to eat together, they usually want to eat together. The kitchen sent out the avocado toast and our friend didn't want to eat alone so he sat until nearly 1:00 pm when we sent that back to the kitchen because it had turned so brown. We didn't get our egg dishes until 1:30 pm. There were multiple versions of where the eggs were by various workers (she's on her way; eggs got her 5 minutes ago; eggs are just arriving in the parking lot now) but either way, when the manager tells you they've been "dead" for a while but got slammed yesterday, good leadership would have identified that they probably needed more eggs than they had on hand for a brunch the next day. Today they also had a book fair on site and I'm sure each author had people they had invited so again, management should have prepared for the increase over usual by at least that number of people. Now to the food - the second avocado toast sent out had about half the avocado on it that the first order had (were they running out of avocado too?) and our friend said the avocado was not ripe. My Eggs Benedict were again cooked perfectly but again, the potatoes served with them were barely warm. (I guess no one paid attention to my last review). Husband's steak and eggs was just mediocre and was not hot and served with lukewarm potatoes and the toast was never delivered to the table. Friend's omelet was also just ok. The deviled eggs with candied bacon were excellent as they were last time. I'm not sure the issues here but with service this bad (and this was across the entire location) they will struggle to get repeat customers. There seems to be a lack of preparation and leadership in the kitchen. This is a beautiful location that could do very well as we don't have any other place like this anywhere else nearby, but it will die on the vine if they don't find a strong and prepared leader for the kitchen. They comped our meal, which we appreciated. We will definitely go back to give it another try. I hope I can update the review to a positive one next time. read more

So, once again we took a chance. And once again it was so awesome! Saw a sign on the highway, looked it up and since they were open... the wine was really good, so we decided to have early lunch. Olivia, our server & wine pourer was so good, she helped with selections and shared what was great for food. We sat in a beautiful dining room, too chilly to sit outside. I went to this winery for their adult easter egg hunt. what an absolute rip off. For 30.00 they advertised you would receive a souvenir cup and a slushy. The cup was something I could have gotten minus their printed name at the dollar tree. However, it does have a nifty little hanger to put on your keychain. After you get past the check-in line you go to a second line where you "should" get your included slushy or you can make wine or slushy purchases. i ask for my "included" slushy and am told we have to pay for them. This event was so overcrowded there was no where to sit. The egg hunt itself was not much fun if you are not super athlete and able to run over people to get eggs. Several of the eggs i did receive had fake dollar bills that I was told you could use towards wine purchases. That sounded pretty good until you try and use them and are then told only "1" per bottle. i will certainly not return next year! read more

Gracious hosts, service was excellent as was the pasta primavera and the green chili wontons. We'd hoped for a few more vegetarian options, but we left with full and happy tummies! We stopped in for some food and they still had brunch going on, and we were really impressed with it! My husband and I had red sangria and it was sweet, but not overly so. I got the blackberry pancakes and a side of biscuits and gravy. Man, the side was actually huge and was some of the best I've had anywhere! The pancakes were also good. My husband got the deviled eggs with candied bacon and they were yummy! He also got the cheesy scramble and it was very good with fresh veggies and avocado on top. This blew our expectations away! On our way to Nashville and we needed a break the drive. This beautiful winery was just the place. Impressive landscapes greet you upon arrival and immediately I began to relax. Our intention was to share a glass and rest a few minutes but the scenery willed me to stay longer. Delmonico offers three tastings for free. I tried a Riesling, Chardonnay and a Sweet Peach. Each of them delicious but the Riesling was my favorite. Bottles of wine are priced between $17 and $22. Glasses are also available. You can seat on the outside patio that looks over at the vineyard. We also looked at the food menu and decided that the next time through, we would enjoy a glass of wine and a meal. It seems that most week days have a daily special. Where is my wife Wednesday made me chuckle. This is a really lovely place. read more

Had a great time visiting DelMonaco Winery with some friends. Each of us brought dome finger foods to nibble on while drinking a couple bottles of their delicious wine. We also enjoyed the wine tasting. We got to try about 12 or 15 wines for a small fee of about $10 or $15 dollars for the flight. I'm sorry, I can't remember the exact cost, but I was having too much fun to really care. The winery had some nice reds, including the Whistle Stop which was very nice and a little dry and Concord Falls which was also very good, but a tad sweeter. We drank a couple of bottles of the Whistle Stop and took the Concord Falls, the Blackberry (very sweet), and another Whistle Stop home to enjoy later. read more

Stopped for brunch. Food was very yummy. Atmosphere is a bit different. Only big tables for 6 people in a large open room. Acoustics were non existent. Food and wine was very good and great prices. I do recommend just be prepared to sit at a 3/4 empty table in an open room like a lecture hall. read more

4.5 stars. Absolutely delicious wines. Pretty grounds, and we had fun taking a flight out to their patio in the back and sipping while watching the fields of vines. My only disappointment is wishing we could have bought one of almost every bottle. We'd've had to taken out a second mortgage tho. Most bottles were around $20-22 after tax. Some of them are worth it though. Especially their tart, fruity ones like the raspberry/blackberry. Super nice folks too. We will definitely be back when we're in the area again! read more

We had a GREAT experience here! We were warmly greeted and waited on by Riley - a genuine treasure. We opted for the free 3 tasting - figuring that if we could find something we liked, we would purchase a bottle and enjoy. All 3 were wonderful - we opted for a bottle of Whistle Stop Red. Found a table outside and ordered the crab dip to start. It was excellent. Split a pimento BLT - wonderful with the Whistle Stop. Riley was soooo attentive, gracious, and good to us. Quite possibly the best meal we have had during our stay in TN. We had the crab cakes, coconut grouper,brussel sprouts, & corn! Please note, my star rating is an average of experiences with 2 different DelMonaco locations. I give the Baxter location 5 stars for being great every time I visit, but my most recent experience with the Watertown location gets 1 star. I've detailed my DelMonaco Watertown experience below. On October 16, 2021, a couple of friends and I took the Fall DelMonaco Wine Tasting Excursion Train hosted by Tennessee Central Railway Museum from Nashville to Watertown. I'd heard about the wine train during a wine tasting at the DelMonaco Winery in Baxter a year or so prior. Because I love the Baxter location so much, I had high hopes for this experience! Upon arrival, parking was organized, the boarding process was fast & easy, the staff was friendly, and we got settled into our seats on the train. We'd been provided our complimentary wine glasses, the train departed on time, and the tasting began. During the ride to Watertown, we were told about food and entertainment that would be available at our stop in Watertown. We inquired about purchasing wine to drink on the train and were told we could purchase bottles once we were back on the train headed to Nashville. Everyone's wine orders were collected before we arrived in Watertown. Our stop in Watertown was roughly 2 hours. There was live music and outside seating. We walked toward the square to get food before exploring further. On the way to the square, there was one food truck. Once in the square, the food options were a coffee shop and place selling quick bar food. The other choices we'd been told about on the train were Mexican food and a pizzeria. For whatever reason the Mexican restaurant was closed during our stop, but the pizzeria doesn't open until 4p which means this was never an actual food option during a midday stop in Watertown. This led us to question why this option was even mentioned. We settled on food from the coffee shop and ate outside. We realized on the walk back to the train there was also a meat & three type of café. The DelMonaco Tasting Room was not open during our stop, so wine was on pause until we boarded the train back to Nashville. Back onboard the train, we asked why there was no wine in Watertown and were told there were licensing issues, so things were temporarily closed. We inquired about the wine for purchase on the train and were told to wait until the train started moving. Once the train was moving, we were told to wait 5 more minutes, or the wine could be brought to us. We decided to wait because we'd grown frustrated at this point. The wine tasting guy came back around to double check everyone's wine bottle orders that he'd taken before we got off the train in Watertown. While confirming our order, we asked if we'd get the bottles in time to drink it on the train. We were told yes and proceeded to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes. We were finally given our bottles of wine once we were 2/3 of the way back to Nashville. Apparently, the wine tasting guy had the only corkscrew so we STILL couldn't drink our wine. At that point, we didn't want the wine anymore because the experience of drinking it onboard the train would've been rushed. We paid $75 per person for an all-day train ride excursion that promised wine tastings & bottles for sale on the train, plus lunch, shopping, and more wine tasting in Watertown. The whole point of a wine train excursion is to drink wine on the train. If I'm being honest, I wanted to get a little day drunk like I'd been sipping mimosas over brunch. Instead, we barely had 1/2 a glass of wine the entire day, were dropped off in a dry town with no bar, barely any lunch options, and lied to repeatedly on the return trip when proactively trying to purchase bottles for consumption on the ride back as promised by staff onboard. What are y'all charging folks $75 for exactly?! This was a terrible experience, a waste of time, and a waste of money. We could've driven to the Baxter, TN location, had lunch, wine, and been back with 1/2 the time to spare. You do a disservice to your customer and the DelMonaco brand when you half ass deliver. If you can't offer the experience advertised, cut the price or discontinue the trips. A better approach would've been postponing to a later date when DelMonaco's Watertown location was back up and running, offering refunds, or complimentary bottles of wine to drink during the train ride. I'm not sure if DelMonaco or the Tennessee Central Railway Museum is to blame, but I'll be sure let everyone I know to forego this experience. read more

Studding venue and you can walk in their vineyard with a glass of wine in hand, what's best! I brought my bestie here for her bday. We arrived shortly after they opened for the day. We were the only ones at the bar. Our female winetender (I can't remember her name) was fun and full of knowledge about the wines. We tasted all the sweets and decided on the blackberry one. Great summer/fall activity. We went on a summer day and it was sunny and radiant. The place is very majestic looking from the outside, like a European mansion. We got a tasting of their wines with a block of cheese and crackers. The outside vineyards are nice to walk around and they have a swing in the back side to relax in. Must come if your in the area. 3.75 (4) Stars in a nutshell: lovely facility, spacious and beautifully groomed grounds - which is not surprising, considering it's both a vineyard and location for celebrations, concerts, receptions, and other public and private events. We arrived here after a slightly nostalgic, albeit "interesting" (check my Wine Train review), rail trip from Nashville. When we got off the train, we saw that the place was flooded with people, lines forming outside several doors and in front of a Southern Fried Pies vendor not directly associated with the winery. Which line through which door led to what? Not much guidance from staff so we chose to bide our time by sitting under one of several open-sided canopies (pop-up style) scattered around the grounds. This gave us a chance to visit with some other rail travelers and visitors who had arrived by car - some from as far away as Mississippi who had come here specifically for this excursion. By the way, our brochure also advertised "Treats on the Patio, weather permitting." I have no idea what they might have been; none of us saw them. There were a handful of games and activities also available while you waited or after you ate. These included a scavenger hunt, hayride, corn hole, ring toss, Plinko, and winery tours. When the lines shortened enough so that we wouldn't be standing out in the sun, we joined in and waited another 20 minutes under the portico and just inside by the gift shop before we could step up to the "check in"..."What would you like to purchase to eat?" and "Would you like to buy any wine; we can package it in various ways for your trip home?" Ah, nothing like a captive audience to vend your wares. In fairness, this was not a "hard sell", simply an opportunity to purchase one or more of the wines we had sampled on the train. My wife and I chose to share a BBQ plate from the semi-cafeteria style Meat and Three; the choices were Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, or Six Wings. One portion was ample for us, the meat tender and smoked nicely, the beans and sides of macaroni and potato salad...fine. Not gourmet, but ok. The wines we sampled ranged from an acidic and dry white "Espiritu de Oro" and a dry citrusy "Chardonel." The latter was a blend of Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc with a hint of the oak in which it was aged. There was a dry red and a pseudo red made with Concord grapes. Concord are the grapes most people associate with (Welch's) grape juice. (Or as our sommelier/guide stated, Protestant Communion.) There were several non-memorable sweet wines and one really tasty dessert wine made from Blackberries. While I'm not a sweet or dessert wine drinker, I found this to be delightful and reminiscent of Grandma's elixir...very berry, sweet and creamy on the palate. If you are a novice at wine tasting, never fear! The winery's brochure, handed out on the train, provides a great guide with instructions on how to sample and enjoy your tasting. A flavor wheel gives some suggestions of qualities you might find. All-in-all it was a beautiful venue with plenty to do and the chance to take a lazy stroll through the long rows of lush vines and across a picturesque bridge in the vineyard. read more

This was a great find while camping in the area. We came across a sign for the winery with some grape vines at Cummins Falls state park and decided to go check it out. They had rows and rows of grapes, a very nice facility and the tasting was inexpensive and the pourer was great to chat with. Came here recently on the Wine Train excursion from Nashville. The facilities and the grounds are beautiful. So why just a 3-star? Well, I don't think the winery is able to handle the influx of 300+ people at once. After a 4 hour long train ride, we finally arrived at the winery, where we had just over 2 hours to enjoy the space before we departed back on the train. During that time, we were basically cattle-herded into the facility to stand in line for lunch. One HUGE long line that took well over 45 minutes to get through. This could have been handled much better. Like maybe separating the groups into specific times, having more than just one place serving the lunch, etc. Also, it was hard to find a table, as one person from the train would rush in and save one to multiple tables all the while waiting for their party to get their food. Meanwhile, the first group of people to get their food had nowhere to sit. People shouldn't be allowed to save multiple tables. I also had an issue with lunch not being provided without an additional cost. I paid $10 for the remains of what was left. And because the train wouldn't allow outside food or drinks to be brought on, you couldn't bring a picnic lunch and were forced to purchase the lunch option at the winery. So after waiting for the line to go down in the lunch area, my group of 4 took turns going around to get drinks, lunch, shop, BTW the white sangria was amazingly good. That I didn't mind paying extra for. There was just not enough time allowed at the winery to really enjoy it. It was way too crowded and not relaxing at all. Now the wines, we actually did our wine tastings on the train, which was cool. The majority of the wines were sweet wines, which I just don't enjoy that much. Ok, I admit it it. Yes, I'm a California wine snob. I just don't get these super sweet fruity wines. One wine actually tasted just like grape juice. While it was refreshing, and would be great for communion, I wouldn't classify it as a wine. One other note, the building was beautiful, but designed to look like a winery in say, Tuscany. It looked totally out of place. This is middle Tennessee, and should reflect the countryside around it, not try to emulate and be a faux Italian winery. Just my opinion. I would try to come here again on a day when the wine train was not there. I just did not enjoy the experience, especially for the amount we paid and then had to pay extra for lunch. read more

I had my wedding there, it is a beautiful place and the staff is extremely helpful. I have attended many events there but my wedding will always be special because my husband loves this place and we live near it so we can always visit for a wine tasting or just to shop in the gift shop as we remember our perfect wedding there. I highly recommend this spot for any special occasion and for their delicious wine, especially the Peach, it's the best! Sampled 12 of the 14 wines and really enjoyed the vast majority! Especially loved the peach and blackberry wines, as well as the "Dulce Nectar Morado" red. They have a great event space for weddings, etc. and a lovely back patio area where you can enjoy wine, cheese, and crackers while overlooking the vineyard. (And if you didn't bring your own snacks, you can purchase some and they will provide a knife and cutting board.) DelMonaco is about an hour and a half from Nashville and an excellent stop on the way to or from Cummins Falls State Park! read more
