    Granny's Concord was our favorite!

What a wonderful experience. Owners are so welcoming. Love the cute little gift shop, the complimentary samples and the wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Beau the big Great Dane was also very entertaining. Loved all 4 of the sweet wines we tried. Very reasonable by the glass and had cheese and crackers available for purchase to accompany. Really wished we were flying home so we could have gotten some bottles. Just the sweetest people here!

    Great selection of wines!

Family owned winery, beautiful setting, awesome venue! You can stop by for a wine tasting but they also have hard apple cider and craft beer on tap! Big pavilion for parties and music and weddings and reunions!

One of my favorite wines at this place.

Everyone loves the drive out there, and the cute storefront they have, not to mention the cider and the wine.

A nice surprise! We…read morehad a little time to kill before check in time at our Airbnb. And I had come prepared with local (generally speaking, as nothing is very close by to anything else in this area) brewery and winery options to possibly check out. Highland Manor was the closest and simplest to get to, so that is how we decided on this one. Turns out, the winery shares the property with one of the breweries that I had bookmarked! We were the only ones there when we walked in, and had a great time doing a full tasting with the friendly employee. I think you get 3 samples for free, but more than that costs a little and you can try everything as well as get a small glass to keep. The offerings were ok. Good enough that a we got a few bottles to either bring home or to enjoy on our cabin weekend. They also had frozen wine offerings, and we got to include trying the beer and cider they had on tap as well. We also got a growler of one of their ciders to bring to the cabin for the weekend. The visit was lovely, mostly thanks to the friendly wine steward. Definitely recommend a stop in, if you are in the broadly general area.

Everyone knows about Tennessee whiskey but what about Tennessee wine? Sure, people from California…read morelikely think Tennessee should just stay in their lane and do the whole whiskey thing, but I think that Cellar 53 is onto something with their Tennessee wines! Cellar 53 is the winery experience that you need to have with great wines. They have everything you need for an enjoyable time here. Unbeknownst to us, Cellar 53 was having a 'Wildflowers and Wine' event the lovely Saturday afternoon that we happened to go there. There was live music on their covered back patio and out in front there was a food truck selling tacos, a stand selling goat cheese and fudge, a stand with sangria and then a garden tent with hanging plants and pots filled with flowers for Mother's Day. There were so many pros about our day here and the cons aren't really a big deal at all! Pros: -Prices: You simply cannot beat a tasting which is $5 for 5 wines! The bottles are almost all under $20 so you will not break the bank coming here even if you buy several bottles. -Wines: they have a good mixture of whites, reds and fruit wines which the fruit is Tennessee-grown. My boyfriend doesn't really drink wine but he loved the Brush Creek Sweet White (thank you Cellar 53 we have a new wino!) so we got a couple bottles of that one and one of their Wildberry wine. -Beautiful grounds: their back patio has comfortable seating with pillows and then picnic tables and other seating. They do have a corn hole set as well. -The staff: Since it is a family-owned operation one of the staff told us stories about the grounds and wines which we really enjoyed. Also, we bought a block of their herb cheese and crackers which they cut up for us in cubes and brought out to the patio. Cons: -Far for most. It is 30 minutes from our house but likely Nashville folks will find it to be more like an hour. It is worth the trip though! -Small tasting bar area. I would say that perhaps 8 people can stand up at the tasting room bar area at any time. Even on a busy day we only had to wait about 5 or 10 minutes before a couple of people left the area so that we could do a tasting, which wasn't too bad. There was an adjacent room to the bar area that looked like it could accommodate larger parties so I think that with advanced notice this wouldn't be a problem. Tips: -The payment option didn't give me a place to tip when I paid with my credit card. Bring cash if you'd like to show the staff your appreciation! -Bring a blanket and picnic items for an afternoon of lounging. There are plenty of shaded areas due to the many trees.

First off I want to say that I am by no means a wine person. After enjoying a wine & chocolate…read morepairing at the Watertown is for Lovers event I really enjoyed the Harvest White and Sweet Red that I tried. My friend and I decided to head over to the actual winery just 20 minutes outside of Watertown. I was a little concerned when driving there that I had put it in my GPS incorrectly, it took me through some neighborhoods and lots of farmland (which I am not used to being a city girl!). Suddenly we pulled into a beautiful open land with signage that led you in the right direction. We were greeted by the most adorable "guard dogs," they were lazing out front and that's when I knew this was going to be a good visit. We signed up for another wine tasting, because heck I'll do anything that's $5. We sampled five different wines, and not being much of a wine drinker...I sampled all the sweet wines. The staff member that helped us was extremely knowledgeable of the process and the history, it was a great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed them all, but was partial to the Wildberry and the Sweet Red--which we grabbed bottles of. They also had cute decor that you could buy, funny wine glasses, and a large outdoor space that is perfect for a picnic on a nice day. I will definitely be back when that time comes for nice weather, a new bottle of Sweet Red, and to hang out with their 4-legged welcoming committee!
