Going to concerts is one of my favorite activities. St. Louis is blessed with a lot of different venues running from large auditoriums down to intimate venues. Delmar Hall is what I've always thought of as the Pageant's little sibling. I hadn't gone until recently to see the always wonderful Jon McLaughlin. When you walk into Delmar Hall you enter into a moderately sized bar. Maybe 30 people could mill about comfortably. They had a good selection of mixed drinks and beers. The show I attended was rather lightly attended, so there was no issue getting a drink before the show or at intermission. The hall itself is long and narrow. It is sloped downward, so that if you are at the back you still have no problem seeing the stage. The room can have folding chairs laid out and this is the case for the show we saw. Most of the time though I'd expect it to be standing room only. This is something to be aware of as I could imagine this being a deal breaker for some older concert goers or anyone with a physical impairment. I though that the sound quality was good and overall it had a nice intimate feel. read more

Great place for intimate, live music and connections to some of your favorite artist. Artist also hang out with their fans. All the staff are super friendly and aren't too strict about their search policy. You can have bags as long as they're under 12" x 6" x 12". Mushrooms were never busy even though the place was. Everything was cleaned up nicely. They must keep around the clock cleaning though because somebody dropped deuce in the bathroom and it was horrid. Went back 30 minutes later couldn't even tell. I don't drink beer so I can't really comment on that, but my partner does and said that it was great. I was offered THC seltzer, which I also don't drink either but they had limited access for NA. I didn't care give me water, I'm here for the music. read more

Delmar Hall is a really great spot to listen to some live music! The space has open seating throughout the venue and they also have lots of room available on the floor up front if you'd like to stand/dance and just hang out. The bar area is super spacious and the have lots of great bartenders who will service quickly. The venue was clean and the vibe inside was really fun the night we went. The only negative I have about this venue is the women's bathroom was designed so poorly! The stalls are on the small side and the tp holder is bulky and in the way of the door so it's complicated to squeeze in and out of the stall. The sink is in a good spot, I guess, but then the paper towel holders are clear across the room so if there is a line (which there will be), you have to cut through the line to grab a paper towel. Why can't they be located near the sink or to the right of the door when exiting? Honestly, women's bathrooms are always so annoying at venues and I just wish one day, they could be designed better. But overall, the venue is pretty great to see live music and small enough to really enjoy your time listening and vibing with friends. read more

Venue thinks it's entitled to a percentage of merch sales from support bands (shouldn't happen to any bands at all quite frankly) and is willing to block you in and barricade you until you pay their merch cut. Completely insane behavior, if you want a cut, why don't you load in all the merch, help count in all the merch, and sit at the table for 4 hours trying to sell it. Could go on forever about the unprofessionalism the staff at this venue exhibit, completely out of control. read more

This was my first visit to Delmar Hall, and I thought it was a really great venue. There was plenty of room to dance, plenty of seating for those that wanted a little rest and a large bar area. I never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be served at the bar and it was easy to grab a quick drink and head back to the music. I also really appreciated the free water station and cups. That was amazing! The restrooms were also really clean and there was never a line even though the venue was packed. I was there to see Strangelove, the Depeche Mode tribute band and Electric Duke which is a David Bowie tribute singer. I really enjoyed both shows! Sound quality was great and lighting was awesome. read more

Went here for the And That's Why We Drink show last night. The show was amazing as well as the entire event staff. Everyone was so sweet. However, the seating was a nightmare. The seat were so close together there is not an inch of space between them. We were sitting on top of each other. If you have a bigger body, then you are 100% taking up space on the seat next to you. It was also super warm in there and just made the entire situation uncomfortable it made it hard to enjoy the amazing show that was going on. read more

I have come to Delmar Hall for a while. Every time I come to see a different artist I find different spots where I can view the artist the best. If you get there early, definitely have a good shot of getting a chair since there are very limited seating around the venue. If you don't mind standing it's nicer because you can move around you can change positions. I usually get in around the time that the show starts but then while people go back for the drinks, I move my way forward. The drinks are normal priced for venues and concerts. The only thing that I wish that we could do is bring in our own water bottles. Also, parking can be a mess the earlier you could come the easier it is to find a parking spot. read more

Aesthetically just a lovely bar area. The bar selection is standard. Bartenders are fast! Bag policy is well communicated. They have a solid fat moving ticket/security line. Sound quality is great. Bathrooms are CLEAN. Room flow is...well I wouldn't lay it out that way unless I was designating a standing section and a seated section for all shows. (Maybe they are doing this for the shows I'm not attending there). Feels choppy and the divisions make navigating sold out shows a bit annoying. It's like copied from the pageant (which slaps at standing room or seated shows) except it's slightly smaller space and a different shape so it didn't quite translate? read more

Concert: 2 VIP PJ Morton & DJ Arie Spears Pros: Thank God the saints paid they tithes and offering because they had air condition on full blast! Yal know if the tithes low the air-condition is off ha ha ha! There is limited seating and the venue is small maybe under 1000 ppl. The concert was hella good! Super easy to get in and out of venue. Metal detectors and id check was a breeze. Cons: parking sucks! You have to get there early. Side note: this is more so for the artist and not the venue. We paid close to $100 for VIP tickets and we only received a cheap goody bag (CD, a poster, a hat, and stickers). No meet and greet or at least him coming out to say hi. Most people cant even use the CD seems dated. Butttt the artist put on a hell of a show made me say the ticket was worth every penny. Oh and the DJ was LEGIT!!!! read more

Been there a few times for local and national shows. Good venue, bar prices seem high to me, but I get that is where the venue makes its money. Sound was good, I think the sound was better than the Pageant. It was the sold out show, and the bar was well staffed and it was easy to get a drink. I wish they used glasses (I know its St. Louis), but paying $15 for a drink and drinking in a plastic cup sucks. Service was fine, Chris was doing a great job handling it. It was also nice that there was a smoking patio. I don't smoke anymore, but I did need to grab a seat for a short break. I would say over all 4.5 stars but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and round it up to 5. Look forward to returning if I find something I like on the calendar. read more

It was my first visit to Delmar Hall and I loved the intimate setting of the place. For a sold out show of Saint Motel and how small the venue is, it still didn't feel too crowded. For a small concert venue, this place has a sizeable bar complete with many drink options at reasonable prices and the friendliest and efficient bartenders! There are 2 entry ways to the concert hall and the bathrooms are on either side. To the left was the men's and the right was the women's bathroom. The actual concert hall reminded me of a theater but without the seats. It was perfect for the band's tour theme (The Motion Picture Show) but I can see it working for just about anything else. There were seats along the wall of the concert hall and some scattered throughout the venue itself. The place does have great acoustic and is designed to have seamless flow if you are ever to move about during the concert or short show breaks. As another reviewer had mentioned, you can go outside of the actual concert hall and still hear your artist or band playing. I had to use the restroom once and could still hear the music. The restrooms were surprisingly well-maintained so kudos to the staff! If a favorite band comes to Delmar Hall in the future, I'll be sure to come back! read more

Attended the "Gimme Gimme Disco" last night 3/2/24. Disappointment. Tickets incurred a fee when purchased on-line. We waited and paid $20 face-value at the door. Stood outside in a line to pass through a metal detector. Must have proper photo ID where they will either stamp your hand ( under 21) or give you a wrist band. Drinks were $17 and very weak. Bartender added maybe half a jigger of vodka to my friend's Vegas bomb. Didn't have any black rum, so I drank water. Over half the crowd was underage. The sound system was off. The DJ sounded like he did weddings or proms. Horrible. The only good part was the disco music which they played once every 3rd song between Madonna, Cher, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson. Also, no one cleaned or tended to the bathroom. There was water EVERYWHERE before I left. Over flowing trash cans. Even the floor in the bar area was wet. Delmar Hall do better! I felt like I was at my high school prom. I want my $20 back! Go to Diamond Music Hall in St Peters, MUCH better BeeGees show with a band! read more

I came here for an Eels concert. I've never been here before and loved it. Great crowd, totally laid back. Very friendly staff. and I loved the acoustics. Very clean concert hall. It was general admission so we had a place to sit during the opening band. Once the Eels made it on stage we were standing 10 feet from them all night and they sounded great. Oh wait I said former great. But anyway. She's everywhere I go. But could she look me in the eye and tell me that she's happy now? They actually let me go inside. Without a ticket. I have no idea why, I was just asking questions about the show. Maybe they liked me. And after the show, they let me pretend to be their security card for an hour or so. Okay well they didn't let me but they certainly didn't stop me. I was caught at the very end - according to the photograph. Wink wink. Definitely the place to be on a Friday or Saturday night or really any show night. But be careful after you're done here. There are some sketchy things going down on the streets outside. It's not the safest city in the world. Especially after dark. But this is one of the cooler venues left in the country. And reminds me of all the venues in England actually. read more

This is fun and open venue that showcases amazing talent. Like the sister next door- there is not a bad seat in the house! The vibe of the venue is intimate. Even when you are back by the merch table or standing by the stage, the place feels like you are having a nice moment with your favorite artists! The bar is well tended with great options and local brews. The staff that provided floor service is quick and friendly without disrupting the show experience. Whoever is booking the talent for this venue has done a wonderful job of bringing amazing talent into St. Louis. Pretty much a smaller version of The Pageant, which was the idea in the first place. The interior and exterior are nice (since its brand new) and you just can tell right away its modeled after its next door neighbor. The stage is a decent size, and there's plenty of space in there (unless its a show that's a big deal). Pros: -I've already seen negative reviews of the Hall's sound, but to me it wasn't much of a problem. -Staff seems to be laid-back and friendly, for now -For some people, a smaller venue means a more energetic-filled room. -The bar and the theater are in two separate rooms, which kind of looks nice. -Very handicap friendly -The roster of many indie/has-been bands that are to play here is great so far. -Great patio outside Cons: -Just like its neighbor, the liquor is not cheap. So definitely plan on spending $$ if you're planning to drink. -Seating is first come, first serve, which I know doesn't sit well with some people. -Chairs are not comfortable to sit in. Pretty much mostly for those who love to stand. So there you have it. Check it out sometime. Head and the Heart last night! In lieu of Loufest, they were able to play at Delmar Hall last minute and what an amazing show! This was my first time at Delmar Hall, I am unsure how that's possible because of how many concerts we go to, but it's true. What I loved: Intimate Amazing accoustics All general admission - the earlier you arrive the more choices you have in terms of where you want to watch from. Super nice and hardworking bartenders, servers, and other folks running the place. Surprisingly reasonable prices for booze! The layout in general flows and makes sense, especially the patio where folks can get some fresh air, but don't have to leave the venue. I don't smoke, but I imagine this is a huge plus for folks who do! Opportunities: Gender Neutral Bathrooms. Didn't they build this within the last couple of years? Saw Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton! Outstanding show. I've heard their music but didn't know what to expect from the live show. It was unbelievable! So much energy! This venue is very intimate. Holds 750 people and tonight was sold out! Nice large bar, waited maybe 2-4 minutes in line for a beer the first time and no wait the rest of the night. I was 3/4 of the way back and felt close. Parking was great as well. Heard stories of break ins but the lot in back was extremely well lit with a guard in a shack. When I left I look and saw nothing bad. Great venue if you don't mind standing. I don't. Probably has 250 seats and 500 standing. Sound is wonderful, lighting is great and exiting was a breeze. Staff was very friendly as well. read more

This was my first time being in this venue and I was partial pleasantly surprised, and partially disappointed. Lovely atmosphere, awesome acoustics, amazing full bar, clean, modern bathrooms. I initially thought this was a standing room only venue, so to see seating when I walked in was a welcome sight. Uncomfortable chairs, though. Not really a bad seat in the house. NOTE to management: For goodness sake....could y'all adjust the thermostat so it's a skosh above freezing?!!? Especially when the temps outside are in the 60s, it should be a bit warmer inside! We were wrapped up in blankets, pashminas..We witnessed several patrons wandered from corner to corner trying to find a space where they wouldn't be in danger of catching a case of frostbite! On this evening there were intermittent storms so an umbrella was called for. I didn't appreciate having to either pay to check mine OR leave it outside in a milk crate. On the way out I had to dig mine out from under the other soaking wet umbrellas (the downside of arriving early to the concert). If dragging wet umbrellas into the building is a problem, why not offer those plastic slip covers at the entrance? Overall, I'm looking forward to checking out another concert here. Smaller concert venue with wonderful acoustics! As you walk into Delmar Hall, you enter the lounge bar area, which is separate from the concert area. This is a great idea as some people seem to want to attend concerts to hang out and talk, but not actually watch or listen to the artists. This separate bar area gives people a nice, large social space where you can talk and not disrupt others. The bar is very large and service is friendly and efficient. Each time I was here, there was not much of a bar line, so I was able to order drinks pretty quickly. They offer a decent selection of beer (some local craft), wine, and mixed drinks. After you grab a drink you head into a separate room through doors to the concert hall. The room is shaped like a long rectangle with a large stage at the front. No matter where you stand the acoustics sound awesome! There is also a decent view of the stage in most areas where you can stand even standing further back. They have the seating/standing area sectioned off into three areas: front - standing right at the stage, middle - some standing area and folding chairs on the right and left sides, back - behind the sound system is more standing area and a small ledge along the wall with about 6-8 bar stools. In the very back where you enter the hall, there is a space where they have a table set up for merchandise. Good job on the logistics of this area having it in a small cove and out of the so way and doesn't block the walkway, doors or standing area. My only complaint is the seating is pretty poor. If you like going to concerts with plenty of standing room only you will definitely like this set up. There are very few chairs and the ones they do have are uncomfortable and crowded next to one another. Your choices for seating are small folding chairs or a few small ledges built onto the walls with very uncomfortable metal bar stools. Other than this, Delmar Hall is a great venue to see a concert! read more

Brand new venue in St. Louis located in the Delmar Loop next to The Pageant. There are three distinct areas of the venue: bar, sitting/standing area, and the pit. The bar is located right when you walk in, separated from the main venue by a wall and the bathrooms. There are a few bar height tables in this area. During intermission, the bar gets crowded, but they seem to add extra bartenders at this time (there were 6 people slinging drinks at intermission vs. the 2 when we first walked in). In the main area, there is a "sitting" area with metal barstools along the walls (there is a ledge for you to put your drinks), and there are small 4-top tables with plastic folding chairs. This area also allows for standing, so don't expect to camp in a chair all night and be able to see the stage. There is a walkway that leads down into the pit area. Strongbow can was $7.50. PBR tall boy was $6.50. Nothing on draft. read more

My favorite venue in St. Louis, hands down. It's very small and intimate. Be aware it's mostly standing space, but if you happen to catch someone you like here, you won't be disappointed. Not a bad spot in the place. They have a large bar when you first walk in, bartenders are always great and the drink prices aren't that bad considering venues usually try to make a pretty penny off of you. They have a great little outdoor patio for a quick breath of fresh air. The place seems pretty clean, and I definitely prefer their bathrooms over other local venues. Fortunately we dodged this rodeo clown that was running around moving people's chairs?!? It was weird, "your row just got moved back there...". Um whaaaaaa?!? Went here last night for the 1st time. We had a bit of a mixup bc of Ticketmaster but the staff were very nice and made to explain what happened. This is a small venue so almost all the seats offer a great view. Sound quality was great. They have a full bar although wine selection is not great. Would definitely return. read more

The Delmar Hall is a really nice music venue located next door to the Pageant in the Loop. The Imagine a smaller version of the Pageant, with layers of levels in the auditorium and standing room only right in front of the stage. The atmosphere of the Delmar Hall is really cool and the sound quality is nice. I came here for an event that was not a concert, but still featured DJs and music. There's a large bar in the entrance of the venue, outside of the auditorium and stage. For a nice, smaller sized concert, Delmar Hall provides the perfect space. read more

First off let me start by saying that I enjoy the more intimate concert venues, it allows the artists to produce a more energetic show. To this day I still miss Mississippi Nights, as it was as close to perfection for a small intimate setting as you could get.......until now. I recently had the opportunity to attend a show at Delmar Hall, and to be honest it exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. Delmar Hall comes damn close to producing an environment that is small, inviting, and just a damn fine place for a concert. When you first arrive you enter into a rather small lobby/bar with a decent selection of beer, wine, and spirits. The lobby itself is separate from the venue, however, its only separated by a small wall, which will allow you to hear the band still should you want to step out for a cocktail. The music also flows freely through the venue. There is also a small outside patio, that would be perfect to step out to between artists. Seating is limited. However, it shouldn't be a problem to snag a seat even if you have to sit alongside the wall. There are three unique sections, an "upper" section with about eight tables and wall seating, a middle section with chairs and tables, and then the pit for those that want to get up close and personal with their favorite artists. Trust me, no matter where you sit you will not be disappointed. I arrived late and was closer to the lobby but still had a fantastic view of the performance. Overall Delmar Hall is an excellent addition to the already great St.Louis live music scene, and should not be missed especially if your favorite artist or band is playing there. read more

I really do not understand the hate for this place in the limited reviews so far. I went to a Mike Gordon Band show over my trip back to STL for Thanksgiving and thought the new venue was great. The bar was really well stocked, and while the beers weren't super cheap, you could get a pabst tall boy for $4 and a beam and coke for $6, so it was not that bad. The venue itself has great acoustics. I am definitely looking forward to coming back here for future shows. I am really excited for this venue. STL has been missing a venue in this capacity size since Mississippi Nights closed down. read more

Recently went to Delmar Hall for a concert and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. After reading the reviews on here I was a little worried. However, they had a good variety of canned beers to choose from (about 13 different kinds) including Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser, Bud Light, Select), Boulevard Wheat, Michelob Ultra, etc, with a full bar too. No beer on draft which is surprising to me but no biggie. The stage was a decent size and we enjoyed being right up front for the entire show. The sound was great! Everything is brand new and the bathrooms were very nice. We will be back again soon! I give it two thumbs up! read more

It's fairly new, it's clean, the staff is nice (for the drink prices they should be!), the stage in big, the sound is alright. Much has been said about the security and yes it is very tight, however this is the world we now live in and i appreciate these guys doing their job. But, typical of a Joe Edwards venue the drink prices are outrageous and attracts a crowd of self centered clientele that is rude and obnoxious. This venue is designed with standing room only in mind as the seating area is a mile away from the stage. If you are lucky enough to get in the lower seating area people are standing right in front of you and the seating is horribly uncomfortable enough you don't want to sit in them for long anyway. It's kind of funny how different venues attract different crowds, I can go to a sold out show at Off Broadway, standing room only and feel like i'm hanging out with a couple hundred of my friends. Anytime i go to an Edward's venue i feel surrounded by hostility and ignorance, therefore in the future i will stay away. I heard someone make a reference to this being the "new Mississippi Nights" - not even close, the Nights had somewhat of a crusty charm whereas the Hall is sanitized crap. Didn't know what to expect going into this venue but had the absolute best time once there. A great space for a concert or show. Easy access to bar and bathroom and a good amount of options for people to sit or stand. Can't wait for the next show I attend here!! read more
