Traveled to Hawaii recently and one of our couple friends invited us to this place! I'm really glad…read morewe got to try the food because it was probably the most reasonably-priced meal with excellent quality, and it was seafood! My friend and her husband got seafood burgers (didn't get a chance to photograph their food), my husband got the salmon burger and I got the seafood salad which you can pick from Mahi or Ono fish and it came with pieces of shrimp. The service was simple and quick; our food came out at a decent time. And the ambiance was bright, well-lit, appeared to be clean. We were so busy catching up with each other that all I can remember was that it was great food with great company. Next time we are in Hawaii, we will for sure be back! Thanks to Paia staff. They were friendly and helped with questions I had about the menu. Mahalo!

Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance with modern furnishings. They also have a outdoor patio up front. Service: Service was good. Staffers were friendly, attentive, offered nice suggestions, and food took a decent time to get to our table. Food Of Choice 1) Fish Tacos Dinner Plate: Comes with 2 tacos (ono/mahi), their house-made tarter sauce, and your choice of side: french fries, cajun rice, or home potatoes. Thought it was good. Portion size of the fish was decent and they top the fixings (slaw and tomatoes) quite nicely. 2) Snapper burger ($15) with fries (+$3.00 extra): Snapper was moist, tender, and flavorful. I also liked their house-made tarter sauce! :) Paia Fish Market For Thought: Can definitely see myself come back to on my future visits to Oahu.

They are friendly and will help make your life easier if you transition from the bar to a table. I was there with a small party, staff were friendly and informative. Unsure what to get, asked the waitress to surprise me based off a couple of items I could not decide on. She did not disappoint and after talking with kitchen, she brought out the Braised Beef Noodles. The meat was tender and noodles good perfectly. My understanding is that this is a newer dish and hope it stays. The tomatoes were cold, which was a initial surprise but nice compared to the hot dish. I will be returning and highly recommend. Be ready to spend $40-$60 per plate. Ordered a Caesar salad that is big enough for 2 ppl to share. Couple of appetizers included sushi rolls & grilled brussels sprouts that were also excellent.

That was so nice since it's been so hot lately. The food was amazing. We chose to eat family style. We started with a couple sushi rolls & all was really good and fresh. We also started with red Thai curry clams with mushrooms. That was delicious. We also had the pork belly boa which was also delicious. For the main entree we shared was the build your own fish plate. We opted for grilled Kanapachi with the red Thai curry with veggies and sweet potato and the butterfish Kamameshi. So so good. Everything we had was so good. Then we had dessert!! Seriously full and yet we ordered the chocolate lava soufflé, upside down cake, and the Thai Tea crème brûlée. I was so stuffed but the flavors of each desert were amazing! We couldn't stop eating it all. It's been a long while since I've been here so it was a nice refresher and reminder of how good everything is.

You can also buy just the cooked lobster meat: 1/2 lb (8 oz) for $75.00 They have can drinks such as sodas (including Hawaiian sodas) and beer. The roll was actually quite tasty! I was able to experiment with different flavors with the Old Bay seasoning, garlic mayo, lemon, and butter. The garlic mayo was surprisingly good with the lobster. You can also throw the Old Bay seasoning on the chips if you're in the mood. The price is pretty steep which was my mistake. I don't know what I was expecting when ordering lobster in Waikiki. The lady at the cash register was less than pleasant and helpful so it makes spending that money feel a little more painful. If you can afford it and are really craving a lobster roll, this should satiate you. I didn't feel like I needed more to eat after finishing my meal. Location: The store is located in the Royal Hawaiian shopping center. You have to take a staircase from the first floor to a lower floor to get to it. You may need to ask around for directions. The restaurant is super small. Maybe two or 3 small tables that can fit no more than 6-8 people.

Things to know: no place to sit (one outside table with 3 chairs is all they have); no cash, card only; the fish is flown fresh from Japan. Now I don't know if all fish is actually from Japan and how true it is, but I did see some styrofoam shipping containers with US agriculture and US customs tape so I believe it. We ordered the macadamia aburi salmon which was a top tier combination of torched salmon, macadamia and a delicious sauce, and yuzu miso poke with ahi which had tuna so fresh it was just melting in your mouth. I also thought it was priced pretty reasonably compared to other poke places I tried in Waikiki, and portions were not huge but decent with lots of fish. I wish I had discovered this place a bit earlier in my trip because I would 100% come back for more.

We had poke almost everyday from different places during our visit, so we got to try a few, and Sato Seafood definitely stood out. We tried 4 different poke options here, but my absolute favorite was the ahi yuzu miso. The citrus flavor was so good, and if you like ponzu, I'd definitely recommend trying this one! Everything tasted very fresh, and the rice-to-fish ratio was perfect! There was just enough rice to have a piece or two of fish with each bite and a little fish left over. The two workers were very nice and friendly, which made both visits even better. The only thing I wish was a little different is if the toppings weren't so much extra. Once you start adding a few toppings, it adds up pretty quickly. Overall, we really enjoyed Sato Seafood and would love to go back.
