Even the plates and silverware are unique and charming. Highly recommend the meatballs, pasta and pizza. The meatballs are light and flavorful served with a creamy polenta. Dinner last night at Della Terra was amazing. We had an advance reservation for a party of 3 that they hold by credit card. We started with greens & beans (great but a tad too salty), prosciutto & melon (not worth it, needs more fruit & less rinds), and hearth bread with white bean dip (amazing). Two of us had tagliatelle with tarragon & mushrooms, sooo yummy and my husband had a rigatoni dish with pork & beef. We split their cannolis & tiramisu, delish. Little Red Corvette cocktails we loved. Service friendly & efficient. We dined upstairs among rail overlooking main restaurant & bar. I'd never been to Zelienople but made the drive to visit Della Terra and it was so worth it! Located in a sweet little downtown area, there was street parking available. We sat on the first level in the fairly large space, which also featured a great bar. The staff was very friendly and offered a lot of great recommendations. I had a few cocktails that were all great (I recommend the Montmartre 75) and the cavatelli (without sausage), which was AMAZING and so flavorful. My friend and I also shared the hearth bread w/bean dip and tiramisu and cannolis for dessert. It was a lot of food but so worth it! Highly recommend the visit. read more

We have been wanting to try this spot for a long time. Finally had the opportunity to order some take-out last. Night ans we were not disappointed!! So we tried a few different items; the Palyboy Caesar Salad was perfection, the dressing was the right amount of tang and zesty flavor that we crave. The meatballs and polenta; meatballs were tender with so much flavor. Next we had the burata with garlic bread; the garlic flavor was so intense and spreading the burata on it was perfection. Next we sampled the Carnivore Calzone with a fresh marinara. DELICIOUS we wanted to wait to try the pasta until we can sit down and eat in house and we can't wait!!! read more

We've had dinner at DT several times over the past two years. Recently, both the food quality and service have declined. On our visit two weeks ago, we sent two items back for being cold. Our Server acted both unconcerned with our disappointment and frustrated with a kitchen that puts our cold food. We had a great meal recently here. This has been on our list for awhile. We had a large party and to their credit they handled us well and we had great service. We were a little bummed at first to realize the menu had changed from when we first made the reservation and looked at the menu, but the food was all fabulous. Members of our party had various pasta dishes and they were all very good. They make all their pasta in house. Some also had pizzas which were really good. I just found my favorite new restaurant! New to me, only opened about a year, or so ago. Della Terra, in Zelienople. Since I haven't been able to convince Mike to try it, I ordered take out tonight after my late dentist appointment. Even though I'm eating it 15, or more, minutes after it was ready, it's still amazing. I'm dragging our family there very soon! Pics are of the take out, so the presentation isn't what it would be. The restaurant had a really comfortably, sophisticated atmosphere, very nice service, and a great cocktail/wine selection. Tried the "Cardigan" while I waited. Yes, sounds very boring, but it was a surprisingly very cute and flavorful vodka cocktail, which was made with a local, Crooked Creek Vodka. The added cranberries were a perfect touch for the holidays. I ordered the Napoli salad which has hiding ingredients from the pic, like thinly sliced artichokes, perfect for a bite size. Sundried tomatoes, sliced thinly and a really good quality soppressatta, along with other ingredients you can clearly see. This alone could be a meal. I also tried their Greens and Beans, and a Hearth Bread, which comes with some kind of a bean and garlic dip. It's all a delicious, high end quality Italian food. If you're near Zelienople, or in Cranberry, I definitely recommend making the trip. I also suggest reservations, they were completely full. read more

Great food, a little disappointed how early they close (9pm) as we had an 815 reservation.. but we made it work. Beans and greens were a hit (not my vibe) but the rest of my group said they're top notch. I've been DREAMING about their caesar salad. I don't know what it is, but dang. Absolutely loved this place. Everyone is so friendly and relaxed. Jacob the mixologist is amazing. We were lucky enough to sit right in front of where he was making cocktails. We had a reservation for the dining room and took seats at the bar to wait because we were very early. I canceled our dining room seating because the experience of the food and his tutelage were fantastic. Just go here! It's a bank converted into a restaurant and the servers bring the delicious food through the bank vault door! Fantastic experience and looking for a time to return the next day. Bravo Della Terra! If you like Italian food or would like to take your date to a nice place and don't mind spending a little bit extra and don't mind not having that much meat on the menu, it's the right place to go. Just happened upon this place cruising through this cute town. So the building is an old bank. So very high ceilings. Like 2 stories high. So its quite noisy. But the food is very good. We had a couple arugula side salads with crunchy apple slivers, gorgonzola cheese and a wonderful vinaigrette. A margarita pizza that was so flavorful. And a side of greens and beans. Probably the best I ever had. I m a retired executive Chef 30 years from the city. Only thing missing is a pc of crusty bread ( ciabatta, or focaccia ) would be great with the beans and greens to soak up that wonderful broth. But thats not a deal breaker whatsoever. For 20 or so years, I traveled for business every other week. While on the road, I always knew my best options for Italian Restaurants in NY, LA, Chicago, etc. So after eating in literally hundreds of Italian Restaurants, I am putting Della Terra on the top of that list. My wife and I shared the Fried Artichokes. They were beautifully fried hard and crispy on the exterior, beautifully tender on the inside an served over a cacio pepe sauce that I could eat all day. We had a specialty pizza with roast pork and fontina and then shared a sausage pasta inside a red walnut pesto sauce. In addition to the food, the service and ambiance of this restaurant were also top notch. We make an Annual trip to Pittsburgh (I married a Pittsburgh girl) and I will visit Della Terra on every trip, probably twice. read more

My husband and I both ordered spaghetti and that was all we were served. No salad, no rolls, not even cheese which I did request. Even the amount of spaghetti was insulting, there wasn't enough on the plate to feed a bird. If u want a meatball, that's $6 extra! Spent a lot of money and left very disappointed. read more

I became a fan of Della Terra back when it started out in its first location. Its current digs in a renovated historic bank building, make dining in like a memory back in time fun atmosphere with trendy decor. I noticed when we arrived at 5:30, the separate (partitioned by a semi-wall) was completely full. I highly recommend making reservations for ANY day of the week, as we dined on a normal Wednesday evening in mid-March between 5:30-7:30. When making the reservation, it clearly states the time allocation based on table size. Despite taking more than average time to receive our food, we thought the appetizer, main course, and dessert was worth the wait. The happy hour menu offers a mini pizza size and is the perfect size for a personal pizza in my opinion. The small staff from the hostess to the food runner was hardworking and nice. This is my favorite place to dine for dinner in Zelienople. read more

The deductions include the extremely limited menu (basically just a few pasta dishes) and the extremely loud dining room. We were pretty disappointed with our visit. We went on a weeknight, which was not busy, and waited at least an hour for our meals. We weren't too happy with our main dishes. The carbonara was so salty it was a struggle to pretend to enjoy. The boscaiola was fine. The meatballs and tiramisu were good though! We were passing through Zelienople PA and stopped at Della Terra based on so many great reviews. We were sort of forced into a commitment because they ask for your credit card when you make the reservation. I get it. I hate it. But we did it anyway and I'm so glad we did. We started with an order of the Arancini. My beloved is Sicilian and we know arancini well. These were delightful. Crispy on the outside, cheese melted on the inside, rice tender and gooey, and the ragu was rich and spicy. Some of the best we've ever had. Next we each had a small arugula salad with apples. Great and fresh and refreshing. Then we shared the pacherri pasta and an order of meatballs. We couldn't finish it all. The portions are generous and I advise you to save room for the cannoli, filled to order. The filling is just sweet enough and creamy and the shells are feather light and crisp. An incredible meal in a most unlikely place. Highly recommend. read more

The ambiance is awesome. Unfortunately, the food and service are poor. Our waitress couldn't get a drink order correct for 3 out of 4 people. Tough to screw up an order of Woodford on the rocks. She had to return to our table 3 times to verify the drink order and still screwed it up. Also the menu is different and the food is acceptable however most dishes are spicy. I wanted a pasta dish with marinara sauce instead of the spicy sauce on the menu. They had a few pasta specials with marinara sauce so I didn't think switching sauce on a pasta dish would be an issue. However, I was quickly told that couldn't be done. So I passed on a main dish and ordered the meatball app. Meatballs were great sauce was spicy. I have had dinner at most every Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. I wouldn't return to this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone. read more

After the explanation, Michelle decided to charge us a cancellation fee. We are Cranberry residents spending a lot of time at Zelie restaurants. Stopped by for happy hour today to try Della Terra for the first time and it did not disappoint! We started with two of the mini Diavola pizzas and they were light, fresh and delicious. We then had the rigatoni vodka and the carbonara. The rigatoni had a nice kick to it and you can tell everything was made from scratch. If anything the noodles may have been slightly too al dente but still very good. The carbonara was excellent as well and had a good balance of flavors that really made it a complete dish. The restaurant had a cool vibe and the staff was friendly all around. I'd recommend giving them a try if you are in the area and want a quality meal. read more

First time here so we opted for the 5 course meal to try a little bit of everything. Such a good choice! 1st course - meatballs. So delicious. Juicy. Tomato sauce base with cheese. Not usually a fan of meatballs but this one changed my mind. So yummy. Carmelita cocktail was a twist on a margarita and loaded. 2nd course - Liked the Playboy Cesar salad - is a seasonal greens plate drizzled with a carefully guarded family dressing recipe which is amazing! The time tough cocktail was a version of a mai tai. Not as sweet and super loaded. Also very yummy. 3rd course - New Yorker pizza - everything home made. Sauce again was delectable. And although I usually ask for extra sauce, this was the perfect amount for the home made, hand tossed thin sourdough bread it sat on. Just a touch of red pepper flakes made the whole thing just pop. Dirty chai Martini was a bit strong with the espresso. Tasted more like a cold brew coffee with a nitro shot. Good. But not my fav. 4th course - 4 piece Rotisserie chicken ravioli reminded us of grandmas chicken soup inside a pasta. Very nice for a winter evening. 5th course - Dessert was cannoli - one chocolate the other pistachio. Like a crispy savory donut flaking on your plate and melting in your mouth. So so good. I came here on a Thursday night with my wife for dinner. Having worked in the area, I was fairly familiar with Zelie but was surprised that I hadn't noticed Della Terra before (I remember when it was a bank not too long ago). My wife had heard good things about this place from some friends. The inside atmosphere was fairly modern and hipster. Had some background music playing and the inside retained just enough of the bank that you could tell it was not originally a restaurant so a nice touch. I ended up ordering the Bianca pizza and my wife the ravioli special (chicken saltimbocca). The bianca pizza was excellent! It had ricotta, blue cheese, crispy kale, garlic, chili, and honey. The honey really did a great job of contradicting the other flavors for a great sweet and savory flavor. The restaurant prides itself in sourcing everything locally and making everything in house. My husband and I came here for dinner on a weeknight. We made reservations as it was recommended by the restaurant. We were seated right away. The tables were nicely spread out and being that the building was an old bank, the ceilings were high and everything was spacious. The bar was against the opposite wall from us and looked like it would be a cool space to hang out in under different circumstances! Our waitress was very nice and helpful from the very beginning. She went over the specials and was quick to take out drink orders. She checked in on us regularly and gave her two sense when we needed help to decide on what to order! I ended up with the Saltimbocca Chicken Ravioli per her suggestion. She told me it was unlike any other ravioli and they make their dough fresh and in house daily. When it came out it looked really good! After taking a few bites, I wished for two things - a little more sage on top, and a little more moisture inside the ravioli itself. It appeared to be just ground chicken without much else but everything else on the plate complimented it well. The pasta itself was light, making it easy to eat the whole dish. My husband ordered a pizza and man it was delicious! That alone would bring me back. They make their own dough and you could tell it was oven fired for a few minutes only. Delicious authentic made from scratch Italian food with marinara so good you cold drink it (literally, my husband and I both were obsessed, you can tell they use San marzano tomatoes in their sauce and so fresh!). Pizza is delicious with a nice wood fire crust. Pasta is homemade and very tasty. Also, definitely recommend the polenta fry appetizer. It's large and yummy! Will definitely be back. I never do this... But this needs to be shared. I called this restaurant at noon today and left a voice message that we could not use our 6 PM reservation. I had not heard from them and at 4:15 PM. I called back to ensure that they knew that I could not use the 6 PM reservation And they informed me that they would hold us accountable for the $25 per person fee that they would charge us as it was the same day. I'm sure the food is great here, but please don't look for any leniency or grace, if you're visiting town and can't make it.
