Food was delicious until the service was the most offensive I've ever experienced. Had one cocktail and one glass of wine at 44 years old and was cut off from drinking one more beverage on a ladies birthday night. Zero inappropriate behavior from our table of three and then management approached us and told us we were not able to order a dessert and a beverage. Dinner last night at Della Terra was amazing. We had an advance reservation for a party of 3 that they hold by credit card. We started with greens & beans (great but a tad too salty), prosciutto & melon (not worth it, needs more fruit & less rinds), and hearth bread with white bean dip (amazing). Two of us had tagliatelle with tarragon & mushrooms, sooo yummy and my husband had a rigatoni dish with pork & beef. We split their cannolis & tiramisu, delish. Little Red Corvette cocktails we loved. Service friendly & efficient. We dined upstairs among rail overlooking main restaurant & bar. I'd never been to Zelienople but made the drive to visit Della Terra and it was so worth it! Located in a sweet little downtown area, there was street parking available. We sat on the first level in the fairly large space, which also featured a great bar. The staff was very friendly and offered a lot of great recommendations. I had a few cocktails that were all great (I recommend the Montmartre 75) and the cavatelli (without sausage), which was AMAZING and so flavorful. My friend and I also shared the hearth bread w/bean dip and tiramisu and cannolis for dessert. It was a lot of food but so worth it! Highly recommend the visit. read more

We've had dinner at DT several times over the past two years. Recently, both the food quality and service have declined. On our visit two weeks ago, we sent two items back for being cold. Our Server acted both unconcerned with our disappointment and frustrated with a kitchen that puts our cold food. We had a great meal recently here. This has been on our list for awhile. We had a large party and to their credit they handled us well and we had great service. We were a little bummed at first to realize the menu had changed from when we first made the reservation and looked at the menu, but the food was all fabulous. Members of our party had various pasta dishes and they were all very good. They make all their pasta in house. Some also had pizzas which were really good. I just found my favorite new restaurant! New to me, only opened about a year, or so ago. Della Terra, in Zelienople. Since I haven't been able to convince Mike to try it, I ordered take out tonight after my late dentist appointment. Even though I'm eating it 15, or more, minutes after it was ready, it's still amazing. I'm dragging our family there very soon! Pics are of the take out, so the presentation isn't what it would be. The restaurant had a really comfortably, sophisticated atmosphere, very nice service, and a great cocktail/wine selection. Tried the "Cardigan" while I waited. Yes, sounds very boring, but it was a surprisingly very cute and flavorful vodka cocktail, which was made with a local, Crooked Creek Vodka. The added cranberries were a perfect touch for the holidays. I ordered the Napoli salad which has hiding ingredients from the pic, like thinly sliced artichokes, perfect for a bite size. Sundried tomatoes, sliced thinly and a really good quality soppressatta, along with other ingredients you can clearly see. This alone could be a meal. I also tried their Greens and Beans, and a Hearth Bread, which comes with some kind of a bean and garlic dip. It's all a delicious, high end quality Italian food. If you're near Zelienople, or in Cranberry, I definitely recommend making the trip. I also suggest reservations, they were completely full. read more

Disappointed, very salty, overcooked, claustrophobic. Positive first: Really nice atmosphere - downstairs. Quite excellent, properly attentive server. Helpful staff when we were 4 minutes late arriving. Salad had great ingredients and properly chopped but... too many buts. Enough for a negative review and I usually don't do this... Please put down the salt. Great potential on flavors BUT everything, everything over-salted, and we aren't a "salt-free" home so that's saying something. Noodles ("pasta" would he generous) both under-cooked (not yet "al dente" and yes I know what that means!) AND over sautéed. Sauces salty. Salad had great ingredients and properly chopped but over-dressed, super heavy on the cheese and more salt than could accounted for in cheese and anchovies. Meatball over-compressed and again salty. I was excited to see "Speck" on the menu but so over-cooked that bacon bits had better texture. Yes we arrived 4 minutes late but were pleasant and even joking with the staff and, with only one other couple in the cramped, dark, not-scenic upstairs room (not recommended) our group of four was seated right next to the only other guests there, in a corner... and they never filled up. In response to this restaurant may say "well, why didn't you say something? "... Often times reviewers are there with friends or family, and it would be inappropriate to return an entrée and suffer, waiting a half an hour for a replacement to arrive, or being perceived as a "Karen ". I am also summoning up a conversation we had once leaving the restaurant, as I did not know our dining companions were equally disappointed while eating, we were all being, as it turns out, too polite. On our way out we may have found one reason why: a crowd of mainly "young women in their twenties" at many tables, and lots of raucous drinking. Not recommended for any social setting other than that. And we had such high hopes. read more

Horrible service! Waited for 15 minutes before a hostess would acknowledge me, finally the bartender asked if anyone was helping me. I said no, I had a to go order. The bartender asked a hostess to check on the order. I waited for 25 minutes, asking the hostess where my order was since I placed it over 45minutes ago. She ignored my request until I asked for a refund. Finally, after an additional 10 minutes, someone from the kitchen brought out my order. No one gave an apology or explanation of why it took so long for a takeout order. I wish the food was worth the wait. read more

A great place for a scrumptious Italian dinner with nice ambiance of an old bank transformed into a beautiful restaurant and so lovely people serving you there. If you like Italian food or would like to take your date to a nice place and don't mind spending a little bit extra and don't mind not having that much meat on the menu, it's the right place to go. Their appetizers are so tasty. We had bread, baked olives and artichokes and meat balls and arugula salad. All so tasty. Pasta as I he main dish and tiramisu as the dessert were tasty too. We have been wanting to try this spot for a long time. Finally had the opportunity to order some take-out last. Night ans we were not disappointed!! So we tried a few different items; the Palyboy Caesar Salad was perfection, the dressing was the right amount of tang and zesty flavor that we crave. The meatballs and polenta; meatballs were tender with so much flavor. Next we had the burata with garlic bread; the garlic flavor was so intense and spreading the burata on it was perfection. Next we sampled the Carnivore Calzone with a fresh marinara. DELICIOUS we wanted to wait to try the pasta until we can sit down and eat in house and we can't wait!!! read more

The deductions include the extremely limited menu (basically just a few pasta dishes) and the extremely loud dining room. I became a fan of Della Terra back when it started out in its first location. Its current digs in a renovated historic bank building, make dining in like a memory back in time fun atmosphere with trendy decor. I noticed when we arrived at 5:30, the separate (partitioned by a semi-wall) was completely full. I highly recommend making reservations for ANY day of the week, as we dined on a normal Wednesday evening in mid-March between 5:30-7:30. When making the reservation, it clearly states the time allocation based on table size. Despite taking more than average time to receive our food, we thought the appetizer, main course, and dessert was worth the wait. The happy hour menu offers a mini pizza size and is the perfect size for a personal pizza in my opinion. The small staff from the hostess to the food runner was hardworking and nice. This is my favorite place to dine for dinner in Zelienople. read more

Absolutely loved this place. Everyone is so friendly and relaxed. Jacob the mixologist is amazing. We were lucky enough to sit right in front of where he was making cocktails. We had a reservation for the dining room and took seats at the bar to wait because we were very early. I canceled our dining room seating because the experience of the food and his tutelage were fantastic. Just go here! It's a bank converted into a restaurant and the servers bring the delicious food through the bank vault door! Fantastic experience and looking for a time to return the next day. Bravo Della Terra! Just happened upon this place cruising through this cute town. So the building is an old bank. So very high ceilings. Like 2 stories high. So its quite noisy. But the food is very good. We had a couple arugula side salads with crunchy apple slivers, gorgonzola cheese and a wonderful vinaigrette. A margarita pizza that was so flavorful. And a side of greens and beans. Probably the best I ever had. I m a retired executive Chef 30 years from the city. Only thing missing is a pc of crusty bread ( ciabatta, or focaccia ) would be great with the beans and greens to soak up that wonderful broth. But thats not a deal breaker whatsoever. For 20 or so years, I traveled for business every other week. While on the road, I always knew my best options for Italian Restaurants in NY, LA, Chicago, etc. So after eating in literally hundreds of Italian Restaurants, I am putting Della Terra on the top of that list. My wife and I shared the Fried Artichokes. They were beautifully fried hard and crispy on the exterior, beautifully tender on the inside an served over a cacio pepe sauce that I could eat all day. We had a specialty pizza with roast pork and fontina and then shared a sausage pasta inside a red walnut pesto sauce. In addition to the food, the service and ambiance of this restaurant were also top notch. We make an Annual trip to Pittsburgh (I married a Pittsburgh girl) and I will visit Della Terra on every trip, probably twice. read more

We were pretty disappointed with our visit. We went on a weeknight, which was not busy, and waited at least an hour for our meals. We weren't too happy with our main dishes. Stopped by for happy hour today to try Della Terra for the first time and it did not disappoint! We started with two of the mini Diavola pizzas and they were light, fresh and delicious. We then had the rigatoni vodka and the carbonara. The rigatoni had a nice kick to it and you can tell everything was made from scratch. If anything the noodles may have been slightly too al dente but still very good. The carbonara was excellent as well and had a good balance of flavors that really made it a complete dish. We were passing through Zelienople PA and stopped at Della Terra based on so many great reviews. We were sort of forced into a commitment because they ask for your credit card when you make the reservation. I get it. I hate it. But we did it anyway and I'm so glad we did. We started with an order of the Arancini. My beloved is Sicilian and we know arancini well. These were delightful. Crispy on the outside, cheese melted on the inside, rice tender and gooey, and the ragu was rich and spicy. Some of the best we've ever had. Next we each had a small arugula salad with apples. Great and fresh and refreshing. Then we shared the pacherri pasta and an order of meatballs. We couldn't finish it all. The portions are generous and I advise you to save room for the cannoli, filled to order. The filling is just sweet enough and creamy and the shells are feather light and crisp. Having worked in the area, I was fairly familiar with Zelie but was surprised that I hadn't noticed Della Terra before (I remember when it was a bank not too long ago). My wife had heard good things about this place from some friends. The inside atmosphere was fairly modern and hipster. Had some background music playing and the inside retained just enough of the bank that you could tell it was not originally a restaurant so a nice touch. I ended up ordering the Bianca pizza and my wife the ravioli special (chicken saltimbocca). The bianca pizza was excellent! It had ricotta, blue cheese, crispy kale, garlic, chili, and honey. The honey really did a great job of contradicting the other flavors for a great sweet and savory flavor. The restaurant prides itself in sourcing everything locally and making everything in house. My husband and I came here for dinner on a weeknight. We made reservations as it was recommended by the restaurant. We were seated right away. The tables were nicely spread out and being that the building was an old bank, the ceilings were high and everything was spacious. The bar was against the opposite wall from us and looked like it would be a cool space to hang out in under different circumstances! Our waitress was very nice and helpful from the very beginning. She went over the specials and was quick to take out drink orders. She checked in on us regularly and gave her two sense when we needed help to decide on what to order! I ended up with the Saltimbocca Chicken Ravioli per her suggestion. She told me it was unlike any other ravioli and they make their dough fresh and in house daily. When it came out it looked really good! After taking a few bites, I wished for two things - a little more sage on top, and a little more moisture inside the ravioli itself. It appeared to be just ground chicken without much else but everything else on the plate complimented it well. The pasta itself was light, making it easy to eat the whole dish. My husband ordered a pizza and man it was delicious! That alone would bring me back. They make their own dough and you could tell it was oven fired for a few minutes only. First time here so we opted for the 5 course meal to try a little bit of everything. Such a good choice! 1st course - meatballs. So delicious. Juicy. Tomato sauce base with cheese. Not usually a fan of meatballs but this one changed my mind. So yummy. Carmelita cocktail was a twist on a margarita and loaded. 2nd course - Liked the Playboy Cesar salad - is a seasonal greens plate drizzled with a carefully guarded family dressing recipe which is amazing! The time tough cocktail was a version of a mai tai. Not as sweet and super loaded. Also very yummy. 3rd course - New Yorker pizza - everything home made. Sauce again was delectable. And although I usually ask for extra sauce, this was the perfect amount for the home made, hand tossed thin sourdough bread it sat on. Just a touch of red pepper flakes made the whole thing just pop. Dirty chai Martini was a bit strong with the espresso. Tasted more like a cold brew coffee with a nitro shot. Good. But not my fav. 4th course - 4 piece Rotisserie chicken ravioli reminded us of grandmas chicken soup inside a pasta. We have been to both the old and new location and have greatly enjoyed both. Delicious authentic made from scratch Italian food with marinara so good you cold drink it (literally, my husband and I both were obsessed, you can tell they use San marzano tomatoes in their sauce and so fresh!). Pizza is delicious with a nice wood fire crust. Pasta is homemade and very tasty. Also, definitely recommend the polenta fry appetizer. It's large and yummy! Will definitely be back. I will agree with the others who posted about the slowness of this restaurant. We had an 8pm reservation last evening. Restaurant was not overly busy. So we were seated a few minutes early. Our app order was not taken until 8:26pm and she didn't take our dinner order at the same time. Despite us all sitting waiting. It was to the point we were seconds from walking out. Bread app was ordered, quite a bit later a plate with a single piece of naan type bread arrived with some oil...was this really $8? So my wife asks server when she comes out another 10 minutes later to finally take our dinner order. She says that doesn't look right I'll check and leaves again without taking the dinner order. Gone another 5 minutes says yes it was wrong I have a new order in. I say please take our dinner order. We order. New bread order does arrive some time later. It was actually pretty tasty, but we've also been there forever and we are starving. Order main didn't take as long as I expected after the hour or more we were already sitting there. I had a 4 cheese pizza that formerly was on the menu and it was good. My daughter had plain pasta with butter and cheese, she did not like it and ate some of pizza instead. My wife had a half order of rigatoni. She did not enjoy it either, said the sauce had an off taste and was way too salty. We ordered zeppole for desert. I loved them, they were hot and tasty with a side of somewhat tasteless sauce. My wife and daughter did not like them. So to break it down, service was somewhat poor, slow and definitely not attentive. Drinks often empty and extremely slow to take orders and check in. Food service was somewhat okay. Food was hit or miss. I enjoyed what I had my family did not. Our dinner companions had the same experience. One enjoyed their calzone, the others did not enjoy their meals. Nice place inside, but extremely loud, need acoustic dampening panels installed some places. Because we were a group of 6 20% gratuity was already added to our split bill. Only reason I am giving it 4/5 stars is because we had to wait about 15 minutes for our table when we made reservations, and I wouldn't complain but we were asked to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink while we wait. The bartender didn't get our drink order until we had to ask her to come over, about 10 minutes after sitting there. The atmosphere was beautiful and as soon as you walk into the building you get blasted with an aroma of pasta and pizza which is amazing! The waitress was attentive, and recommend the fried pasta to start which was amazing! We also got the sourdough bread which is great with all of the marinara! The pasta was cooked perfectly for both entrees, the vodka sauce was not what I expected but I wasn't disappointed. We also got a margarita pizza to go to try as well and it was very tasty!
