This was by far the worst restaurant I've ever been to. My dad reserved a table for 12 people because we were celebrating a special occasion. Came in at 12pm and was here for over 3 hours. The service first of all was awful, waiters not personable and very slow service. My dish, the crispy gnocchi came out last out of the 11 other people I was with and it was cold, too salty and soggy. Looked like a frozen dinner. When I told them my order was not good they didn't even offer or ask if I wanted anything else. The tiramisu was edible but soggy as well. 10/10 don't recommend this place. McDonald's would have been more satisfying. read more

So let me start off by saying that I live in Danbury and love going out to eat. This place is by far the best place I've eaten. Della Francesca is my new number one favorite restaurant. The food is amazing. I was taken so off guard on how good it was. Made me want to go in the back and thank the chef. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars was because of a rude comment that was made by our server, Michael. The bus boy and the manager were great. All and all I had an amazing experience. WOW!!!! From the moment we walked into this restaurant they made us feel welcomed. Besides the the professional service the food was spectacular . I love Italy and since I go there once a year I can truly say their mushroom ravioli was authentic . Went here on a Thursday night. This was my second time at this restaurant. My first experience was really great and the food was delicious. I was expecting the same. I was so disappointed. This restaurant is one of the only in this area that is always consistently good. The service is always good and the food is flavorful, with the right amount of spices, always hot (which doesn't seem like a big deal until you get a cold entree somewhere else) It's a little on the upscale side price wise but I will spend extra every time for a great meal. I was taking my mom out for her 89th birthday. She picked here. She ended up not feeling like going out so we ordered in. I ordered a pear and walnut salad that was so so. Warm because they packed on top of our entrees. I ordered chicken Florentino. I'm not sure what I got. It was chicken with some kind of cheese and bits of basil on it with a tasteless red sauce. No spinach in sight.And it was cold. I am a cook and everything, the dressing, the chicken, the sauce had no salt. When I cook for my customers I dont want them to have to add salt. My mother ordered linguini Primavera. She got spaghetti with spinach and mushrooms and onions. Also cold and tasteless. Because I spent $ 14 for an Uber to get there, I wasn't going back. We ate what they gave us. Overall tasteless, cold and terrible. Because they don't deliver or use and delivery apps, we were stuck and out about 80 bucks. Plus the 14, so about 100 bucks. Just gave this place another try, dinner for 8, service was spotty, soup was microwaved so hot there was a skin onto of it. most of the dishes appeared to look similar regardless of shrimp based of chicken, but the big show stopper was after less then 2 hours with a full table of eight , waiter came over and asked us to move to bar where he would buy us a drink for someone was waiting for our table! So we spend plenty of money on bottle of wine, drinks apps, and dessert and then to have them rush us along, I mean we made a reservation several days before, My advise is to skip this place and as time goes by this will become another casualty like the place before it. In Danbury, CT for the night, I actually was going to go to the pizza place that's next door, but decided to check out the menu here, and I'm glad I did! I sat at the bar, watched some hockey, and ordered the Chicken Parmigian, Caesar salad, and tequila gimlet. The salad was excellent, as was the main course! We were here last night for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant doesn't look like much from outside, but the inside was very nice. The piece of brushetta and cheese was very nice and we enjoyed it while looking over the menu. While I appreciate that the specials are printed, I find it curious that they couldn't also print the prices. While the prices of the printed menu are reasonable, the bill adds up quickly as basic salads are not included and the house salads are $8 each. I had the pollo martini which was very good. My wife had the fettuccine alla taratina and she loved the scallops a lot. My sister in law had the pappardella dell alba. She cleaned her plate too. The desserts were good, nothing special. In town on business and my colleague and I stopped in for dinner. No reservation and we were welcomed. Great old school atmosphere and very friendly staff. Appetizers and entrees were delicious, and we even had dessert. No alchohol helped keep bill under $100, but we had a ton of food. Absolutely recommend this restaurant. read more

Since my 1st review we have been back twice. Last week we ate in the dining room with friends. Food was delicious again, service was ok, somewhat inattentive at times. The dining room was quite warm, a/c wasn't working well so it was a little uncomfortable. We were pretty much done & waiting (probably 10 minutes or more) for the server to come back so we could get our check & the power went out due to a thunderstorm in the area! Had he come back prior to this there wouldn't have been a problem. He ended up handwriting the check, not itemized either, so we couldn't check for accuracy. We realize the power situation was out of their control, but at least take the time to write a proper check. My husband & I decided to give the bar another try on our next visit, making this our 3rd visit. We waited a few minutes to get a seat at the bar, not a big deal, we waited even longer to be greeted by the bartender & served! Not even an acknowledgment that we sat down or an "I'll be right with you". We finally got the bartenders attention, ordered our drinks & asked for dinner menus. Decided what we wanted & placed our order. Food, again, was great!! (At least the kitchen is consistent) As our drinks were consumed and glasses empty, not once were we asked if we'd like another drink! My husband did eventually ask for a refill of his wine & didn't get it, he had to ask again about 10 minutes later. This is a bar, right? The purpose is to sell drinks? Not this place! They are in need of a "Bar Rescue" of sorts! Really all they need is more help behind the bar! Again, one bartender on a Saturday night in a large bar, just doesn't work for this place! I'm really hoping they get this worked out soon and that they're just getting used to their new location. Again, at least the kitchen & food is good & consistent, because that's all they have going for them! I still give it 3 stars, but this is based only on the food. If they get the service up to par it will easily be a 4/5 star restaurant! 1st review: The restaurant recently moved to a new location on Mill Plain Rd. Figured we'd give it a try. (Never made it to the old location) We sat at the bar, for drinks & dinner, bartender was polite but very overwhelmed, 1 bartender on a Saturday night doesn't cut it. I went there friday night with my family,we wanted to try this place on their new location,portions got smaller,i ordered clams linguini sauce was ok and i had like four little clams on top.My wife had veal which she complaint was to salty,anyway we didnt want to complain since things happen,we go to service. This restaurant was a great find on a recent biz trip to Danbury. Scallop app was amazing....stuffed with cheese and spinach with a light red sauce. I had one of the fish specials which was a red snapper with olives and artichokes and it was a great choice. I ate at the bar, but they still brought me their pre-meal bruscetta and chunk of provolone....really good. Kendra was a great bartender and the service was very attentive...when I walked in and sat at the bar one of the waiters actually cleaned up the bar area where I was sitting. Outstanding Italian restaurant in Danbury - great service and really good food! I only ever went for lunch but even then the service was really personal. My favorite was the Cheese Ravioli (which btw, was a lot more affordable in their lunch menu than their dinner menu, just like the rest of the dishes) . Seating is in an intimate back section and since it was hardly ever crowded, it offered a great setting for official lunches. Home in lots of time to write a review about the worst and shortest expensive dinner I've ever had in a restaurant in Danbury--$52 and under an hour. In at 6:15, home by 7:30. We ate some indifferent chef's appetizers, a small slice of Fontana cheese and tomatoes on toast, a Caesar salad, and a day's special veal scaloppini described as dipped in egg and bread crumbs and lightly sautéed in wine and olive oil. It arrived with a 1/4 of a cup of mashed potatos and spinach. And a scaloppini with prosciutto and spinach which was actually an over-salted scaloppini sautéed in what tasted like left over pan drippings and served with that same carefully measured 1/4 of a cup of mashed potatoes and spinach. I envision all the plates lined up with their mashed potatos and spinach waiting for the entrée to be tossed on. There was Tired romaine Lettice for the Caesar doctored with pre-mixed dressing and some indifferent parmesan and stale crotons for garnish and then there was the day's special, obviously pre-cooked and then thrown in a pan and heated--how something can be overheated and burned and undercooked at the same time is amazing but underneath that glutionous egg shell was an undercooked pan burned piece of veal. I had neither the heart to complain or the appetite to eat it. The waiter didn't care--he looked over at my 2/3 finished meal and simply sent the busboy to clear. I remember when Della Francesca opened. It served meals with a flourish, wisking off silver covers to reveal ordinary entrees. It was neither enticing or good enough to repeat the experience. We avoided it for years but tonight thought we'd give the new location a try. The pretentious flourishes are gone but the food has become mediocre and the service as others have noted, robotic. They are counting on a big bar and catering business--the dining room has 10-12 tables, what should be perfect for a culinary tour de force and it is charming. There's a party space and 2/3 of the restaurant is the tavern. Well, a small dining room means fewer people to disappoint and it's hard to go wrong serving drinks. But why repeat what others have observed. I concur with the one star reviewers. They said it first, and they said it earlier. Had dinner here for the first time with another couple. Food was quite good but the portions were merely adequate. I had the veal marsala and although it was quite good and tender, there was no usual side pasta, just a dollop of mashed potato. The rest of my party had snapper and tilapia. The women were pleased and my college buddy also thought his portion was just adequate. Service was good and we were allowed to linger at our table after dinner for quite some time.
