Biscotti's Family Meal- Chicken Parmigiana
Leah S.

Unbeatable price and value for a family style takeout for four- we ordered the chicken parmigiana family style take out which also came with bread, salad, pasta fagioli, and penne ala vodka, all for around $30! Very good traditional Italian style meal. The chicken parmigiana came with about 7 pieces of chicken. We ate most of the chicken and have ample pasta leftover. Our only recommendation would be to add more vegetables in the salad as it was mostly lettuce. Would definitely recommend this for a family of four.. a couple would be able to have one or two nights of leftovers!

The soup was fantastic as was the pasta. The service was great. The ambience was great, I really don't have enough good things to say about this restaurant. Tonight I got a pork chop that was breaded and fried served with an arugula salad that was just perfectly cooked and a very nice portion. It was a Tuesday night so we didn't make a reservation, got their kind of late, at 8 o'clock and they close at nine. We didn't end up leaving until 930 but we're never pestered to leave. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed

The staff is warm, attentive, and makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. We started with the sausage and peppers appetizer, which had just the right amount of spice and paired perfectly with their house-made bread and olive oil -- truly delicious. For my main dish, I ordered the linguine loaded with clams, mussels, shrimp, and even a lobster tail, all served in a slightly toned-down fra diavolo sauce. Every bite was fresh and flavorful. My wife had the pan-seared branzino, made specially gluten-free, and it was perfectly done. What impressed us most is that every dish is made to order and served hot -- nothing feels pre-made here. You can taste the quality and care in each plate. This little restaurant is an incredible find, and we'll definitely be back.

It had a great atmosphere from the second I walked in. There is a large mural of NYC on one of the walls and familiar decor in the restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were playing music from the 50's and 60's which brought back memories of getting pizza in NY when I was younger. The pizza was very good. There were lots of delicious looking choices which made it difficult to order. The regular cheese was very good. It had a little bit of sauce that pooled at the bottom when you fold it. That's when I knew it would be good. The vodka sauce on the Drunken Grandma had lots of flavor. Fresh basil on a pizza never hurts, I also tried the Little Italy which is a white pizza. Topped with lots of Italian herbs and garlic, looking forward to coming back and trying the Chicken Parm Pizza or Buffalo Chicken. Right now there is a 10% bonus on gift card purchases. Not sure when it ends.

I made a trip to visit Bruno's Pizza & Pasta …read more I have not tried their pasta yet , however I did try their chicken Parm pizza and their regular slice . It was not easy to eat the chicken parm - It was a mess and it's not a take out item . I hope they take this criticism positively. Their overweight slices are mini entrees on a triangular bread AKA pizza . The minute I picked up to eat - it all fell apart . The sauce was that of a marinara sauce that goes over pasta not a pizza . I could not eat it like a normal slice as it was falling apart from the undercarriage. The regular slice ok - I just could not taste the herbs that make it a pizza sauce . Where is the oregano ? The crust was ok but on the normal undercarriage - however I could not tell if the cheese was grande cheese - it's my guess that it wasn't . Business was slow with only one table , but I ordered counter service . The server was pleasant and efficient . Normal slices was 3.60 which is average but the chicken parm was 2.40 MORE for 4 pieces of chicken , yes 6.00. Who is doing their food cost? Last time I checked - the cheap chicken breast is at 2.99 a pound . There was NOT a quarter pound of chicken on the slice . Ambiance was quiet , calm and not noisy . It was a perfect place to take your kid out and have a real face time , a one on one with your young ones . I would go back but I'm not paying 9.60 for 2 slices when I can order a small pie for a few dollars more , The display was very appetizing and clean . Every pie was labeled and clearly displayed . The counter looked ver busy with clutter and hard to navigate - I would go back and order something different with a different sauce . After-all - they say that sauce is boss - let's see if they nailed the béchamel sauce . Making that Alfredo sauce is a grand sauce and its one of the many sauces that people cheat with . I am a professional chef , Chapter President of the Connecticut Chef's Association , Member of the world Association of Cooks Society and admitted I the Le Emis Escoffier Society . Please don't put your guard fiend step your game . Love the choices of pizza and the cute little bistro feel . Can't wait to go back .

Unfortunately, the experience quickly declined once our server arrived. They were dismissive, gave us uncomfortable looks, and their attitude made us feel unwelcome. The food was mediocre and not worth the price. Most dishes lacked flavor, especially the chicken wings, which had no seasoning at all. Throughout the meal, we were consistently overlooked by the staff. Despite being clearly visible, we had to repeatedly ask for assistance while employees stood nearby without offering help. What made the experience particularly upsetting was the sense that we were being treated differently based on our appearance. The behavior felt discriminatory and left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. Overall, I would not recommend this place. We barely ate and asked for the check early just so we could leave

The bolognese was absolutely delicious and as good as any bolognese offered at an Italian eatery in Boston's North End. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, and the staff was attentive without ever being rushed. It gave us a great chance to really enjoy the space and the food. We started with the two-cheese crostini, which ended up being one of the highlights of the night. The bread was perfectly crisp, and the cheeses had just the right amount of richness without being heavy. I also tried their seasonal non-alcoholic Spiced Apple-Lini, and it was surprisingly delicious--refreshing, slightly sweet, and very "fall in a glass." For my entrée, I ordered the chicken Milanese, and I have to say it might be the best I've ever had. I'm usually very particular about chicken dishes, but the flavor and texture were spot-on. The breading was light and crispy, and the chicken itself wasn't dry at all. The plate came with a beautiful mix of seasonal vegetables--roasted squash, shaved fennel, cranberries, and arugula--topped with an apple cider vinaigrette that pulled everything together. It tasted fresh, balanced, and really thoughtful. We ended the meal with their cheesecake served with a house-made pistachio crème. The flavor was fantastic, especially the pistachio topping, which really made it unique. My only tiny note is that I personally prefer cheesecake a bit colder and denser rather than closer to room temperature, but that's purely personal preference and didn't take away from enjoying it. The owner also came by to chat with us, and he was incredibly friendly--clearly someone who cares about his guests and the quality of the experience. Between the great service, thoughtful menu, and inviting atmosphere, we're already looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes. Definitely a strong addition to the Danbury dining scene.
