FWIW this is a nice spot with decent food and nice vibe. As many reviewers have shared the price point is on the premium side. Thats fine. Food is alright. We ordered the lobster risotto $48, special lamb risotto $65 (this is way overpriced with the one piece of lamb in the risotto tbh, a big turn down). Cavatelli and Spagatti are both fine nothing to write home about. My husband later said he's mentioned on opentable and with the server it's our anniversary but nothing was done, at all. Dessert was the highlight, the cheesecake con fichi is perfectly balance with a fresh touch of the figs. Drinks are okay. I think for $100 pp price point you have more better options in both Ridgefield and neighboring towns. read more

Came here for my MIL's birthday and was told by her that the restaurant was recently updated. Staff even told us about their new chef from Naples and the new menu so they really built themselves up which may be what made the meal so disappointing. We got a bufala mozzarella dish and a diavolo pizza to start. These were probably the best part of the meal - and both of these dishes were pretty average. The mozzarella was underseasoned and the pizza while thin was also pretty wet and it flopped when trying to eat. My brother in law ordered what was a special that night and ordered this breaded veal chop and while the size of it was massive - think like sheet pan serving - it did not make up for the fact that the veal was thick, not pounded thin and had a pretty thick coating of fried breading as well which was at least crispy. No sauce or cheese on top, just 2 cups of sauces to dip and a side salad that was also underdressed. I felt worst for my husband who ordered a Carbonara and what came out was a dry-ish pasta made with THE FUNKIEST cheese that overpowered the whole dish - and we all tried a bite - and agreed it kind of tasted like feet. He was so bummed the rest of the meal. I wasn't very hungry that night and ordered a ravioli dish. It was probably the one thing we all agreed was decent on the table from an entree perspective. MIL's husband also thought his chicken was ok. Honestly, I took photos of this meal then deleted every one besides the pizza because my pictures made the food looked better than it tasted. Was really exited to try this place after seeing reviews and pictures online but was extremely disappointed. While the vibe was great, the food, service and prices left much to be desired. Our group started with drinks and this is where the disappointment started. I ordered their mule and it was not enjoyable, I felt like it was very watered down, ridiculous for $17. Wine pours are very conservative. Next my partner and I split the Posa salad, a little small to split, but more importantly - not good. The salad and the avocado dressing had no flavor what so ever, the only flavors that did come through were greens and dirt. For our main we split the Diavola pizza which was the best part of the meal, solid pizza with good flavor. The waiters seemed under trained. At one point the waitress took the vase of water that was left on the table out of my partners hand as she was refilling her own glass!! I was absolutely shocked that she took it out of her hand, just to proceed to fill it herself, extremely unprofessional. Server attentive Regarding what matters: grew up in an Italian-Sicilian Family. They have two Ravioli dishes on the menu. Both eggless. Horrible doesn't even cut it. These restaurants somehow feel compelled to put twists on the simplest things like a ravioli. The taste, texture absolutely awful and an insult to traditional Italian Staple. Stop reinventing the wheel. I could not force myself to eat it. $46 for shrimp risotto and they charge $6 per glass of Coke. Nothing at all to talk about here. Hard pass. read more

We have had dinner at Posa many times and always enjoyed it. However tonight we ordered delivery for the first time and it was beyond TERRIBLE. All three dishes, and antipasto ( calamari ) and two pasta dishes were some of the worst food we've ever had. I decided to try Posa for lunch today, and I will definitely return. Their menu offered many options I'd like to try. Today, I opted for the zuppa di pesce. It was enormous! The photo doesn't do it justice. I gasped when my server brought it out, and she said, "I know." Anyway, the piece of sea bass was absolutely the star. It was soft as butter, and I definitely want to try Posa's sea bass entree in the future. The clams and mussels were a bit small and underwhelming, but I assume that's just due to the season and is not something Posa can control. They're not King Neptune! The lunch crowd today was nonexistent, but to be fair, I was early. Great if you want a quiet spot though. Next time, I'll probably go for dinner and bring a companion. read more

After reading the great reviews, we so wanted to write the same but this new Italian restaurant is a pretender at best. They got the setting right. Nice vibe, good outdoor seating and a jazz guitarist plucking away on the patio. This is where the pleasantries end sadly. The service was uneven, not bad but for an expensive (and it is) place, it wasn't up to the pricing. We both ordered glasses of wine, Cakebread Pinot at 18d. Average pour. My wife finished hers and wanted another. It took about 15 minutes for us to flag down someone to order it. Not terrible. The not good. They start you with a "compliments of the chef" mini pizza disc that looked like it came from the Ridgefield Middle School cafeteria. I said maybe it just looks that way but lo & behold, the flavor and consistency matched. One small bite and left that balance for a trash bin. We shared a burrata salad w beets that was the best thing of the evening. It was solid and good. Wife selected the lasagna and said it was flavorless. It also had a layer of egg, a bit odd. I noticed a layer of what looked like a prepackaged sliced cheese. She ate 1/2 and didn't take the balance home. I had the vongele. Now here the flavor was good (not special) but the dish was literally an olive oil soup, DRENCHED, SWIMMING! The clams, which were good, could have drowned in the oil if not cooked! It was so heavy handed and amateur that it really should have been sent back. One plus, the pasta was nicely al dentè. The above came in at just under 200d. The mains pasta start in the high twenties and most are middle thirties. For these prices, the food was thoroughly average and uninspiring. The saving grace is a nice atmosphere and vibe. If they hire a new chef and cease the dreadful mini pizza piece "gifts", we truly hope they can get their act together as there are several good Italian haunts in the area. This is a gem I somehow missed here in town. It's tucked away off the street and easily overlooked, but what I discovered is that it is one of the best restaurants in the area. Posa is modern, sleek, Manhattan. There are two zinc-topped bars adjacent to the dining room which makes it perfect for couples-at-the-bar dinner and people watching. The food is eclectic, but leans Italian. From elegantly presented entrées of steak, chicken, pastas and salads to some of the best artisanal pizza I've ever had. Why not another star? We sort of got off to a bad start with the bartender, granted very busy, basically ignoring us for the first 15-20 minutes once we were seated at the bar. He could have acknowledged us or found a way to accommodate us with a quick glass of house wine or a glass of water to hold us till he was able to attend to us properly. Although I was getting very impatient, I kept my cool, and as the evening progressed the experience got much better. I'll let it go as a one off and be back for another try as I think this is a very worthy establishment deserving of an even better review. read more

Growing pains? Many complained about service, hostess was inexperienced but nice, servers generally charming and somewhat with it. But food was such a mixed bag. Bread on the table - meh. Appetizers - stuffed zucchini flowers and fried calamari/shrimp/zucchini was fantastic. Pasta - delicious. Risotto - so salty it was inedible. Veal chop special with potato galette looked amazing, except potatoes were raw and cold. Like how do you serve that, doesnt anyone test to see if it's cooked? Tiramisu - think Olive Gardens was better and gelato was meh also. Place is backed so what do I know. Not sure if I am going back any time soon tho. read more

Visited Posa for the first time on 6/21/25 with a friend; after hearing great reviews. Our experience was profoundly disappointing. Posa patrons pay premium prices. In return, they should expect premium food and service. We got neither. Our waitress, while very nice, "forgot to place our orders". We waited nearly an hour and a half for a salad: grilled radicchio, pear and gorgonzola. The presentation was comical. No one eats an entire head of uncut, bitter radicchio. The pear and cheese could have fit into a shot glass. Then another long wait for the entree. Out of patience, we were told our meals would be out "any minute". We finally suggested they comp us with a glass of wine, when the staff should have. By the time the entree arrived, we just wanted to leave and did. So disappointed! read more

While the occasion was sad the food and service were excellent. Gathered for a repast after a funeral of a beloved community member. We've all been to too many of these, luncheons where you feel like you are being fit into a narrow time slot with a menu hastily thrown together that does nothing to nourish body and soul. Posa was very different. A 4-5 foot charcuterie board that was everything you hope charcuterie boards to be and grissini I will dream about greeted us breaking the ice and lightening the mood. It's hard to politely refuse Italian meats and cheeses within arm reach. This was followed by small bites, passed and stationary. Then Pizzas. Then ravioli. Then meatballs, sausage and short ribs with orrichete and salad. THEN! (Yes, it continues) Roasted meats one at a time , roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes. Then small bites of dolce. Plates, were continually cleared, waters refilled, beverages replenished, all inconspicuously as we morphed from quiet mourners to a crowd happy to have known this fine man and be sharing this wonderfully extravagant meal. On top of that, they hover and are constantly checking in, but when you place an order you sit and wait foreverrrr to get food. Main courses took almost half an hour to come out - I had to flag down a waiter to order dessert and then THAT took another 25 minutes to come to us. Not a fan of waiting like that, especially when I don't see why? There's like 50 waiters and yet nothing is happening on time. I think the biggest let down was the service...in spite of having plenty of wait staff they seemed to be rushing and very impersonal Normally when sitting at the bar the bartenders interact with you. No specials left, no lasagna, no pasta, bread was limp and cold, appetizer ice cold and inedible, and we waited 35 minutes for our drinks to arrive, the food sucked. Went this evening. Empty at 6:30. No lasagna, effed up the order, pizza had to go back into the oven, so I asked if I could just have pasta and peas and despite no one in there, I was told they couldn't do special orders (since when is a plate of spaghetti with peas (peas are on their menu as a side dish) a special order at an Italian restaurant ? Everyone in our group has been to Italy and we each loved our experiences. In terms of the food and service, there were definitely authentic Italian vibes; they are passionate about their cuisine and want to share it with everyone. The trouble with Posa is that it is very very loud. I don't recommend a group larger than 4 people because you can't converse with anyone that you can't physically touch. Also, the menu is hard to read because key things are only in Italian (not English) and some in our group had food restrictions. The staff seemed irritated that it took us some time to decide on food and alcohol, so we felt rushed and forced to order their family-style where nearly all decisions are up to them. So while the food was great, the overall experience not so much. Service and Ambience: weight: 3, 2/5 Food: weight: 1, 5/5 If you get family-style, where they decide what you eat, you are at their mercy in terms of how much the final bill will come to. Ours came to $120pp. We ordered alcohol, so it wasn't Bid Gourmand pricing, but for the quantity of food that eventually came out, it was on the high side.
