Special Bruschetta

Second time here. And never disappointing. Dolce Restaurant in Danbury and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The service was outstanding the staff went above and beyond to make our family's birthday celebration feel truly special. We started with their special bruschetta. They treated us with such warmth and attentiveness, making the evening memorable. As for the food, it was simply I ordered the Chicken Scarpiello, and it was hands down the best chicken I've ever had--perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice. My brother enjoyed the Lobster Ravioli, which he raved about for its rich flavor and generous lobster filling. My parents ordered the Chicken Ravioli with Marsala wine sauce and the New York Steak, both of which were cooked to perfection and delicious. Dolce Restaurant not only provided a fantastic meal but also created a wonderful atmosphere for our family celebration. I highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for great food and exceptional service! We left full and super happy. CT need more places like this. To make you feel like home. By far best Italian restaurant we ever been.

Cheese Pizza

The online ordering process was quick and straightforward. Perfect take out solution for staying nearby at a local hotel and didn't want brown-bagged fast food. Went with simple; classic cheese pizza. Just what was needed. Crispy, slightly chewy crust and a good ratio of cheese and sauce. Good amount of garlic and oregano. Also had the fig bruschetta which I didn't get a photo of. That was delicious but almost a dessert with the added fruit drizzle on top which actually stole to show from the fig a little. Only recommendation would be to lose the sauce and let the cheese and fig stand on their own. Will definitely try going and eating in the actual restaurant when back in the area.

Food was really really good! Loved the outside patio area! Staff were friendly and cocktails were extremely generous! Great ambience! I would recommend a reservation if planning on going at a peak time.

Dolce Restaurant & Wine Bar is a solid Italian restaurant in Danbury. Here's the scoop on this place: If you're going for dinner on a Friday/Saturday night, I would highly recommend you make a reservation in advance, which you can do online through their website. I went on a fairly busy Friday night, and was given bread and water almost immediately after sitting down. The bread was very good and came with olive oil for dipping, which had some spices in it and tasted delicious. For a drink I ordered a house margarita on the rocks, which was good. For an appetizer, I got the Fried Mozzarella with marinara sauce. These were amazing!! The order came with four large mozzarella sticks, which were hot and crispy. Some of the best I've ever had! Next came the garden salad, which had a very good balsamic dressing (the entrees all come with salads). For my meal, I chose the Veal and Shrimp Francese, which came with mashed potatoes and carrots. The veal and shrimp were very good, though not the best I've ever had. The mashed potatoes were great. For dessert I got the homemade Chocolate Lava Cake, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was so good, but super chocolate-y. Overall the service was excellent, with the waitstaff refilling water glasses and clearing the table without having to ask. The food came out quickly for how busy it was. The atmosphere was nice. I would recommend!

The good news is this bus a local place for me. As soon as we entered the disco music got me, the rest of the dinner was equal in taste. We were greeted by " Rocco", have you ever been served by an old time professional waiter? We were it added greatly to our meal experience. We order the halibut with vegetables, the mushrooms raviolis, fried calamari and cesar salad, all fantastic. The decoration of the restaurant is nice, you feel you are in a contemporary upscale restaurant. I recommend this restaurant very highly. I am missing Rocco already and the bread!

Shrimp and scallops

Had brunch here on Sunday. The food and service were top notch, and the portions are very generous! We had the shrimp and scallops and the spicy rigatoni alla vodka with meatballs. They were both amazing! Will definitely be back!!

Tuna Tartar

Food: 3/5 I ordered the tuna tartare as my appetizer and shrimp and scallops as my entree. Neither of my meals were satisfactory. I enjoyed the different spin on the tuna tartare. My family had ordered different items on the menu and let's just say no one took the food home. Service: 2/5 prior to leaving the house I called to ask what time the kitchen closes. I was given a quick 9:30p and quicker click to end the call before I could ask anything else. When we reached well before the kitchen closing time the waiter hesitantly found a table for us. The other waiter was pleasant and did give great service.

UGH For Tapas YES Fried Calamari was absolutely amazing Fresh, not dry at all with a large bowl and 2 delicious dipping sauces. BUT For Paella Classic for 2 Never again. It was a huge disappointment after our tapas as a warm up. It was served in an iron skillet, nice presentation but much smaller than we thought it should be for 2. It had no moisture at all, the rice and chorizo sausage with chicken bits and shrimp. The shrimp was very disappointing just rubbery and dry. This place has a 4.7 star rating and a great looking Menu. Maybe it's a Ridgefield Connecticut thing to go there for an enjoyable atmosphere. For the food quality it was too expensive comparatively as view on their website. We picked it because of the Great Rating. The head manager/owner was great and the staff was very attentive. We had dessert and coffee the coffee was nice and strong, fantastic but dessert was a version of crème brûlée taste was good Caramelized sugar wasn't there. When the Restaurant manger asked how was everything I had to let him know, he appreciated it and took the coffee off of the bill. We still gave a 20% tip for the great service. Sad to say We won't ever go back

The setting is nice with plenty of parking. The outdoor seating was a nice setup with fresh flowers blocking views of the road and parking lot. The waiter we had was super nice and helpful, not being too overpowering but checking in just the right amount. We started with the Mezze Dips which is hummus and whipped eggplant dips with a spread of fresh veggies and warm pita bread. It was very good and we all enjoyed it including our toddler. The menu is big enough to have something for everyone on any diet while keeping things fresh and not overwhelming. I went with a basic vegan burger which was absolutely fantastic on fresh grilled sourdough, it would even be good without the vegan patty if you want to avoid that. It seemed likely a Beyond or Impossible type party which I am fine with on occasion. My wife decided to go the fish route and got the crispy fish sandwich which was a huge size and she ate almost all of it. She said it had really good flavor and would order again. Our toddler got Mac and cheese and of course snacked on the appetizer and our fries. I gave the Mac and cheese a taste test and it was nice and fairly light versus the sometimes highly overpowering stomach bombs places make. Overall it was a nice dining experience and reasonably priced for what you get. I can't speak for the inside vibes from this experience since we were outside the whole time but overall I will definitely keep it on my list for the area and plan to go back. Maybe even again this week!

Once we got seated, the vibe was spot on: cozy lighting, that awesome wood-fired smell. We started with fried mozzarella crispy outside, gooey inside, perfect with a little marinara. Our server was amazing, but the real standout was when the manager came over to chat. He asked how our night was going, wished us a happy Valentine's, and even checked if we needed anything extra. Super genuine, not salesy just made us feel like they actually cared we were there celebrating. That little touch turned a busy night into something special and personal. It's well proofed, the perfect balance of chewy and tender, gently salted and seasoned to allow toppings to shine. The thin Neopolitan / Neapolitan style crust is best eaten fresh out of the oven, not by delivery or take-away. After many years of eating at Stanziato's, though, we have some additional observations: As at just about every other restaurant, service is variable. The wait staff tends to be beautiful and young, capable about 80% of the time and less so about 20% of the time. The front of the house was extremely disorganized on a recent visit and although it was not busy, we waited 10 minutes to be seated. (We noticed others waiting a long time by the door without acknowledgment, waiting to put in or pick up an order.) Our first hostess greeted us curtly, and then completely disappeared, leaving a colleague to pick up the pieces 10 minutes later. Salads are well designed, but not always well executed. On several recent visits, our salads were slightly gritty with sand or soil. (A supplier issue?) Lardons in a Harvest Salad were cut into overly large pieces, fried too far in advance, and ate like salty rubber erasers. When it's not gritty, the beet salad is still a winner. Pizzas are sometimes served unpleasantly and excessively charred -- not just spots that might be expected on a Neopolitan / Neapolitan style pizza, but whole sections of crust. When 13" diameter pizzas run north of $20, I'd hope for better quality control. There is huge variation in decor from room to room, a legacy of the real estate takeover of the Latin bar next door, perhaps. The original rooms run pubby; newer rooms run clubby. The parking lot is as tight as ever!
