Baked salmon, mac&cheese, and Greek salad.
Laura M.

Cheap. Quick. Tasty. Diner. Delish. Since starting my job right around the corner from Deli One, I've become a regular. I walk in on a Friday, the boys behind the counter say "eh-ah Lawwura...whatdaya tink is lookin good taday?" I could pick anything on the menu and they would have some way of connecting the health benefits of said lunch item to myself....i.e "I think the fish looks good today boys" and they would respond "oooooh yeazzz. It's friiiday. You have da feeesh. Plus feeesh, it's good for your eyes. Keep you healthy". On a Tuesday, it could be the macaroni and cheese w/ a salad and they would say "oooooh yeazz. Macaroooni n cheez, very good for you. Keep you nice n strong". If nothing else, I love these people. Warm and friendly, and above all, honest. Their prices are beyond fair. The aforementioned fish dinner was $6.50, and included a delicious baked filet of white fish (haddock or cod maybe?) topped with a crispy buttered breadcrumb crust, a side of green beans and potato. Can't beat it. And the mac and cheese w a greek salad, $5.75. There sandwiches include fresh sliced deli meats and cheese, tuna and chicken salad, pastrami (fatty as hell but tasty for sure), burgers, grilled chicken, grilled cheese and more...and another notable item served daily is there homemade chicken noodle soup. SO good. And I am not a fan of chicken noodle soup. Breakfast is also served everyday. **Cash only**

Deli One (formerly Kingston Deli)
Sophia S.

Love this restaurant! I came across them this week and thought the handwritten menu in the window looked familiar. (They are formerly Kingston Deli.) So I popped in and got a chicken kabob, rice and salad today and it was great as usual. The food is always fresh, the staff is friendly and the restaurant is well taken care of. I am looking forward to stopping by on a Monday for the turkey dinner. -Sophia

Their chicken kabob salad is the bomb. Generous amount of chicken on top of romaine with tomato and cucumbers (included pita bread). Best price in town. Speedy line and friendly service.

Grilled corn bread and fruit cup

Doing a 3 week training at downtown crossing and this place is around the corner on Arch Street. My colleagues discovered it. The food is fantastic, the customer service is quick, polite and gracious, and the place is clean and efficient. We've tried many dishes from the breakfasts - grilled corn bread, fruit cub, bacon and egg sandwiches, etc and for lunch: salad, chicken soup, baked haddock, mashed potatoes and gravy, seafood pie, Mac n cheese, steak tips, stuffed cabbage! Oh my! Everything is delicious, comforting - and big portion. The staff is nice and respectful, and the prices are more than reasonable. Try their rice pudding

Pastrami and swiss on dark rye bread

I expected more from Deli One. The employees were great and my sandwich was made quickly. But said sandwich was really just ok. I had a pastrami and swiss on rye bread. The quality of the meat wasn't great and I feel like the sandwich was thrown together really quickly. I could have done a much better job making my own sandwich at home. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing off their extensive menu.

Hidden gem! If you're sick of the new age and exotic stuff, this place is a quality go-to for some good ole fashioned sandwiches.

But I'm actually writing about the company's website and phone recording. Once, on a prior holiday, and today due to a winter storm, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was open. In both cases (where the restaurant turned out to be closed), the website (appropriately) didn't allow online orders, and (more importantly) THE OUTGOING PHONE RECORDING WAS UPDATED WITH CURRENT INFORMATION. In an era where businesses barely have phone numbers to call, or employees who answer with something other than 'hello', is rare (and by the way, this is the fault of management if they don't properly train their staff). THANK YOU FOR HAVING YOUR SHIT TOGETHER IN COMMUNICATING YOUR HOURS TO THE PUBLIC. I, for one, appreciate it.

Sam LaGrassa's is a Boston legend that's lost its way…read more As a local, I used to defend Sam LaGrassa's to anyone who called it a tourist gimmick. It was the gold standard for a real sandwich in the city. Sadly, the magic has faded. Between the soaring prices and the shrinking portions, the value just isn't there anymore. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! It should have gold in it! Even then, I'd keep coming once in awhile if the service was worth it. but honestly - the staff seems burnt out even bright early in the morning. It's hard to justify the premium price for a shadow of what this place used to be.

This place redeemed whatever it was I had in Framingham. The place is pretty small. I just ordered at the counter, and the person taking my order was super friendly. Wish I got their name for a shout-out. There's not a lot of seating in the establishment; it feels like the place is meant for a very quick meal. FOOD: I got a hot buttered lobster roll and it came with a side of chips. I actually ran into the owner while I was there, and he had explained that their lobster rolls are unique in the sense that they actually toss their lobster meat in a pan with butter. You can really taste it. Buttery lobster heaven. Would definitely come again if I'm back in Boston. I could probably eat ten of those hot buttered lobster rolls in one sitting and have no regrets.

I ordered a chicken salad on a croissant with pickles, onions, and lettuce and it was really good. The best part is you can pretty much build whatever sandwich you want- breakfast or lunch. They've also got plenty of drinks, chips, and treats to choose from. Service is crazy fast too. They had my order ready in no time. There's a small bar setup with a few stools and a couple of tiny tables, so you can sit and eat quickly, but I wouldn't rely on getting a seat if it's busy or if you're with a group. My custom sandwich was $10, which felt reasonable. They've been around for 32 years, which says a lot. Definitely one of those local spots worth supporting. I'll 100% be back. Highly recommend.

I still can't believe that I only just found out about the place despite frequenting the downtown area and working close by for nearly a decade. They're quick counter service and serve a few simple items for breakfast and lunch, mostly sandwiches. So far I've had the pastrami egg sub and the yahoo sandwich. They're both good, but I'd have to say the yahoo is the winner so far as far as the sandwiches go. You can order online, which is a big plus for me and it's very easy to customize items through the online ordering portal. I also happen to really like their iced coffee, too. It's nice to see that there are still simple, no frills spots that execute good tasing food at a reasonable price, and Archie's is definitely one of those spots.
