Plus, they didn't break down their quote into labor hours, materials or anything- it was just a number, whereas other companies submitted quotes with much more detail. Maybe they didn't even need the work since they quoted such an outrageous price

After having 4 different plumbers bid the job, Ian from Drain Masters was the best for me. What I…read morevalued most was his communication and his timeliness. I was not physically at the address where the plumbing issue was but Ian was in contact with me almost daily, would answer any questions I had quickly, sent me photos, was there when he said he would be and got the job done on time. I received bids at a lower price but I was also chasing after those plumbers (for days) to get the bid in writing, had to ask the same question multiple times to get an answer and 2 of them were over 30 minutes late to bid the job. I realized that if it was this difficult and the job hadn't even yet begun, the lower price wasn't worth it for me. Ian provided me with peace of mind and that truly made such a difference to me. I highly recommend Ian from Drain Masters.

If you'd have a plumbing problem in SB, you know it can be difficult to find a good and responsive…read moreplumber. That was not our experience with Anacapa Plumbing when we needed to replace our two 15 year old "on-demand" water heaters. Anacapa was immediately responsive, pleasant to deal with, and quickly gave us an acceptable quote. Then, after ordering the units (which took a few days understandably) , they did a great job installing them in less than a day. We can't talk about pricing because we were so frustrated by other contractors not even returning our calls and by the one who ripped us off (Goodland Plumbing by demanding a $150 up front payment for a quote and then never getting back to us with a quote), in the end, we were not in a position to seek out competitive pricing - tired of cold showers. Now, everything is working well - Anacapa was very professional, with friendly informative plumbers, who did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. We definitely recommend them.

Perhaps I've been a die-hard Yelper for so many years because I love, Love, LOVE supporting all…read morethings local; including the search for a plumber. I had been seeking a solution to speed up my hot water access in the far reaches of my home (most importantly master bathroom and kitchen). After years of wasting gallons of indispensable water and electric in drought-ridden California every time I hopped in the shower or washed dishes, I knew I had to get to the bottom of it. Not to mention that it was driving me nuts hanging out on my "honey to do" list... I reached out on NextDoor to see if other neighbors had the same issue. Sure enough, I wasn't alone! I found Riviera Plumbing on various sites with stellar reviews/recommendations and submitted a complimentary service request via their website to assess my situation. Within two hours I received a call from a plumber with availability to come by the next day! Meanwhile, I also had two other local plumbers in the running (one no-showed, while the other's estimate was too high). Cuyler arrived at my house on time the following day, looked at my hot water heater, discussed a few solutions with me, and promised me an estimate within 48 hours. Fast forward a week... Cuyler behind the scenes had to reach out to the odd manufacturer instant water heater company (Rheem), purchase the specific compatible parts and pump (which were on backorder due to national supply chain issues), and was at my home for installation day. What I particularly appreciated about Cuyler is that he is the son of a plumber and several family members with stellar skills and experience in the trade. At the same time, he has a great personality, is proficient, honest, and most of all, a perfectionist. He taught me all about how the system functions and worked diligently to confirm that everything was working smoothly--including that the pump doesn't overheat with use. Cuyler was cautious given Covid by wearing a mask and shoe covers inside my home without needing to mention it. He kept his work area neat and put back the items under my master bedroom sink exactly how they were before his arrival. All of these details made it easy to write this 5-star review for Cuyler and Riviera Plumbing. When looking for a plumber, I know who I will use and refer to others.
