I found myself back in Moore, so I decided to try their chicken fried steak for an early dinner. Things got off to a bad start. There was a couple in the dining room eating at one table while their 9-10 year old son sat about 20 feet away at another table by himself. After I placed my order, the boy switched his I-pod sound on. It was very loud and annoying and sounded like cartoon voices screaming. When my food arrived, I informed the server that I needed to move to a different dining room. I decided not to confront the parents because they were obviously so clueless and inconsiderate that they would likely have gotten angry and indignant. I just wanted a quiet dinner - not a shouting match with morons. Anyway, I was surprised to see my huge chicken fried steak appeared to have been served without ream gravy. A closer look revealed the gravy to be under the steak. That's the first time I've ever seen it served that way, but it worked just fine. The steak was very crispy and the mashed potatoes were nothing special. I enjoyed my okra, but last few had an odd texture and seemed chewy. No problem. I was so full of chicken fried steak, that really needed nothing more to eat. Now if parents could just teach kids about manners, the world would be a better place. read more

Holy freaking nightmare!! Got there with my boyfriend and daughter. Was passed not just once but 3 time all by different waitresses and didn't even ask if i needed anything. This is us just getting there and all of the tables being filthy and covered with everything. Finally the table gets cleaned off after about 7 or 8 minutes of waiting. Really wanted to love this place because I looooove chicken fried steak but it just didn't cut it for me. Got the smaller lunch portion of the chicken fried with mashed potatoes and onion rings. The chicken fried steak was teeeeny, bit on the greasy and bland. The mashed potatoes and Texas toast were great, and the onion rings were too strong. The service was wonderful and friendly. Very good Steak Sandwich Supreme although I have become spoiled to it hanging over the bun and tonights sandwich the steak just fit the bun. The onion rings also very good. My son ordered the Chili Cheese Hamburger and I took a bite and it was delicious. Customer service was average not great but not bad. Del Rancho is a little pricey. read more

This is not necessarily a review of the food but more of the staff that was there. My wife and I have visited Del Rancho on and off for many years. We used to go to the location in Edmond at least once a month if not twice a month. The food there was great, service was great, everything was good. We decided to try the location in Moore and the food was still good, everything was at least similar but the wait staff was a complete circus. We went on Sunday April 14th about 4 p.m. there were three girls in the front and there was a fourth on drive-through which seemed to be the adult in the room. I can understand a small bit of horseplay here and there but at one point they were literally running around the front counter chasing each other and laughing pretty loudly. That's when the adult in the room, who I assume was the manager on duty, or at least acted like it, got on to them about running in the restaurant. We may go through drive thru next time, but unless we see that there are at least some other customers in the lobby we won't be doing back in. read more

Sometimes good and sometimes not! The drive through needs to ask the people that just pull up to move to a holding spot. The tradition as long as I've been going is to call at the drive up order menu to see if your order is ready (yes for me that has been over 25 years). I did just that and someone zipped in front of me with out calling. Guess what...their order wasn't ready and I had to wait 10/15 minutes. You ever tried to eat a cold deep fried chicken fried steak sandwich? Not so good! Probably won't be back as long as the little girl working the drive through can't ask the ones in a hurry to pull up and wait and then lies about "I was sacking the order"...most other places just ask you to pull up. I have worked a few restaurants myself and would have to call her response BS since there was only one sack and mine was sitting under the warming lamp at the drive thru. :) read more

Went on a Saturday night. Girl answered the phone and said it would be 30-35 min. Then put me on hold which was her laying the phone down and talking to customers for 3-4 min. Batter was different as in no seasoning, kinda cold, very little mayo. Bread was flat. I used to be pretty full with a little less then half left. Well I ate the whole thing and could of ate more. But didn't want more of that anyway. Chuckhouse is much better. Del Rancho is NOT what it used to be for sure!!!! read more

So I love Del rancho. 2months ago I came for lunch. I ordered a steak sandwich supreme cut in half with no mayo. Well once I got back to my desk at work I find my sandwich with mayo not cut in half and of course my fries were not hot. I called to inform that my order was not right. So the manager said that she would put my name in the book. Well 2 months later I'm back in moore Oklahoma & decide to cash in on my iou meal. I get here and am told my name is not in the book. I'm thankful I blogged about it to remember the date. I had to wait for the manager to come. I remember when I called I asked did I need to keep my receipt she says no I have your name in the book. It pays to keep your receipt no matter what. I remember that day bc I called my order in and still had to wait as well as other's did. I also remember the manager being upset that their inventory truck was late with stuff for the batter mix. Today the manager says what does that have to do with anything? . I'm like that's what you said over the phone & was yelling to employees when I was there during lunch. Nevertheless she remade my order. Jeez that was like pulling teeth. I don't lie about food! Pick up the phone at your table to order your dinner, but usually before you do someone has already taken your drink order and brought them out. While Del Rancho is known for their delicious chicken fried steak, our family's fave is the chicken fried chicken. My husband gets the chicken fried chicken sandwich and I usually get the southern chef salad - which is topped with the same crispy chicken. I love it because the crunchy fried batter makes croutons unnecessary:) The salad is topped with cheddar cheese and my choice of dressing (ranch of course)- yummo! read more

We drove 100 miles to get a burger and original sandwitch we were both very disappointed ! The only thing we enjoyed was the gravy and we dipped our fries in that .. Get the steak sandwich! Great locally-owned alternative to the usual blah fast food joints when traveling on I-35. It's not on the frontage but very close to it. Thanks to another poster who described the seating and ordering process, we knew just what to do: go in, grab any open seat (the seating area is small, so large groups may need to split up), look at a menu on the table and use the phone to order. The phone is novel but weird; you press the button but there's no sound at all until they start talking to you; just be patient. We were rewarded with really good food and it came quickly even though it was 12:30pm and packed. The servers were especially friendly, too. My wife and I split the steak sandwich with cheese. The portion was huge and unlike so many chicken fried steaks, the meat was really tender--almost melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a nicely seasoned batter coating. Fries were solid, too. We got onion rings and they were okay, very similar to Sonic's. This place also serves grilled cheese for the kids, a rarity among road food burger joints. Go there and try it! read more

If you knew, there would be no way anyone would go anywhere near this delicious "sandwich" where the steak is enormous and the bun is just a suggestion. Coupled with your choice of tater tots, french fries, or onion rings, you can just about forget the fact that you're eating a days worth of calories in one sitting. But go for it. Get a side of fried okra, a frito pie, and the abomination that is the Indian Taco. Wash it down with a cherry limeade and don't forget to get some chicken fingers made with actual chicken for later. Not impressed with this place. No sign at the front door advising us to sit nor was anyone acknowledging us at the door. A customer advised we seat ourselves. Waited a while (10-15 minutes) to be asked for our beverage choice. We made our decision on food but no one was coming to take it. Look towards the inside of the table, there was a phone we "call to ask for service". Although the phone called a receiving phone about 8 feet away, we still didn't get any answer even though the phone was ringing for her to pick it up. Waited about 15-20 more minutes and I finally walked up to the counter and she asked what I would like to order. Debating on whether to leave I ordered 2 orders of chicken strips. What came was 3 small semi-burnt scalding hot strips in each basket and the rest of the basket was loaded with fries, one cup of gravy, and a piece of overly toasted oily bread. Other customers including ourselves had to take our empty cups up to the counter to get refills. The bill came and was very over-priced for the amount we received. Waited at the counter a bit of time and we checkout without further incident. For a random pick from the app, I wouldn't visit this place again. read more

If I could I would give them a minus 5!! I have been very upset with this particular DR since last year. ON MY BIRTHDAY, October 2, 2010. My husband and I went there for lunch. He had taken off work. We just happened to share a soft drink, which we do at MANY RESTAURANTS!! And the people at this DR would not even refill it for us. I thought that was odd, but didn't think about it too much until we went to leave and I wanted one to go.They would NOT give me a drink to go. They said I had to pay for it. So, if you buy two drinks, you get UNLIMITED refills. If you buy ONE and share it, you get NO REFILLS?? What is up with that? Could they not have at least given us ONE refill? We did spend almost $20 in there that day!!! Is that worth losing two customers over?? Because, let me tell you, they were so rude to me about that, it will be a COLD DAY in HATES before I go back there!! I could not believe they were being SO RUDE over a SOFT DRINK?? And on my BIRTHDAY!!! I still get extremely ANGRY when I think about it. I will never, EVER go to this _____ DR AGAIN!! First of all let me say I seldom ever give a place a bad review but after two bad experience in a row I am writing this one. Our first bad experience was a call in order where the food was cold and the order incomplete when we got home. OK, maybe that was just a bad day. Then today I called in another order and arrived when told the order would be ready. I heard the person inside say that I had arrived at the second pick up spot. After 12 minutes of sitting in my car, I finally went inside to get my food. When someone finally waited on me, I gave my name and they said "Oh, were you waiting outside." I asked had the order been sitting for long and was told "No." Although the order was complete, it was just barely warm when I got home. Needless, I will again be driving to the Del Rancho on SE 59th. It's a much longer drive to get there, but their service and food is much better. We were very happy for Del Rancho to return to Moore, but it won't be getting any more of our business. read more
