My colleagues frequent this place frequently. Nice dark and cozy steak restaurant. It's kind of funny when they ask everyone if there are any vegetarians. Then the waiter talks about this gigantic piece of bacon as an appetizer. It's really not much different than other amazing steak restaurants. Typical choices for steak. What checks my box for elite is they have a physical bourbon menu in the form of a book. Hello! I ordered the filet mignon in medium. One of my colleagues ordered a steak rare. I told the waiter to just drag it across the open flame as a joke. Well received. We ordered a bottle of wine and bourbon. Had alot of fun. Ordered copious amount of sides and ate them all. We then get talked into dessert. 3 of us say no and 1 says yes so of course we get this lemon cake like dessert. More than big enough for 4. Of course it was amazing. Eh.. i don't know if it's because we went during restaurant week, but the food quality here is worse than cheesecake factory. Taste and quality is not on par with what they're known for. Suppose to be one of the best steakhouses like Eddie V's, but this was super mediocre. Kinda disappointed cause we went for a birthday dinner. The ambiance was nice, but i guess here you're paying for the vibes instead of the food. Our meal was $60 each? I would never pay full price for this filet mignon which cost like $90 by itself, undercooked, under seasoned. Maybe I don't like lean steak? Did not live up to it's reputation. I don't know if this place is under new management, but something has definitely changed--and not for the better. I've been here 6-7 times in the past and always had a solid experience, but this last visit was easily the worst. Right off the bat, the service was bizarre. Our waiter introduced himself and then stuck out his hand for a handshake with both me and my wife. I've worked in restaurants for over 10 years, I can say with confidence this is not customary or appropriate in fine dining. Guests do not know the servers personally, and forcing that kind of interaction feels awkward and unprofessional. Even casual chains like Denny's don't do this. Fine dining is supposed to be professional and polished, not "backyard BBQ meet-and-greet." If this is their version of hospitality, they need to retrain their staff immediately. As for the food? The $90 45-day aged steak was underwhelming. Perhaps it's meant for a more refined palate, a connoisseur's dream, but to me, it was just okay--nothing special. I've had better, more flavorful steaks at half the cost. Bottom line: when you're paying $$$ for dinner, the service and food both need to be exceptional. Instead, we left disappointed, uncomfortable, and questioning why we chose this spot over others. After this experience, I'll be far less likely to come back. read more

Dark and cozy spot to celebrate Christmas dinner in the heart of downtown. Valet parking was easy and our table was ready early. Verdell did a fantastic job taking care of us, especially helping navigate the wine list after our first two choices were not available. Food wise the tomahawk and crab legs were standouts as were the seafood tower and lamb chops. Unfortunately my seabass was overcooked and rubbery. Dessert helped make up for it, the lemon cake was absolutely amazing. The staff all did a great job on a busy holiday evening. That is why I hate to post this, and certainly did not share with our host for the evening as I'm sure for a table of four the bill was over $800.00. Every table around us was sending food back including a table of 12 that was there when we arrived and got their food after we were done. Their/our waitress was crying off and on which was a really nice touch. I got a Ribeye that was so over salted, I tried to cuts off the crust, but was not successful. "Never buy seafood at a steakhouse." That old adage can be said about Del Frisco's Double Eagle. I ordered the Seared Chilean Sea Bass and it was horrible. Fishy and tough. The restaurant did offer to remake it for me. The second was worse than first - and it was cold. Both version were barely seasoned. Definitely would not recommend. The inside was dimly lit and smallish space. The first I noticed upon being seated was the area where the bread is made. We've had many servers in the past, and Taylor who we had tonight has been the very best yet. She was attentive and thorough- we learned things we've never known until now! While in Fort Worth for a conference I was treated to this restaurant and it was great!! We had a party of 15 and actually were seated in the basement in a special room between the wine cellars. It was nice to be away from everyone else. We had a three person waitstaff that was very good and on point with everything. The food was Amazing!!!! I had the 22oz bone in strip, my coworkers had the 22oz bone in ribeye, Another had the surf and turf, someone else had the King Crab legs. It all was great!! The sides were excellent as well. We had lobster Mac and cheese, creamed spinach, creamed corn and roasted asparagus. Even the sides were fantastic. If you the opportunity to eat at this restaurant go ahead and treat yourself. YOLO!! The valet company for Del Friscos returned our Toyota 4 runner with a huge dent. They walked us to garage where we saw multiple 4 doors truck Parked. They valet company accused of us lying that the dent was there before. It wasn't - we know because we had closed trunk earlier in the day and would have noticed. They gave us the name of valet mgr who filed a claim that was denied. This also came on a day we celebrated my girlfriend bday. So we spent a large sum of money on dinner and were rewarded with vehicle damage. FAIR WARNING to all patrons. Dear Del Friscos mgmt. I will gladly remove this review if Del Frisco reimburses us cost to fix dent. I have receipts and photos dated of the Incident so it would be relatively easy to contact me thru Yelp to verify. Classic steakhouse vibe, parking is either valet or on street. Wasn't too difficult as it's Fort Worth after all! Service both nights I went was pretty solid, friendly no complaints. Sides were pretty decent. Mashed potato was well seasoned and textured, wasn't gummy. Green beans were perfection. Mushrooms were on point. Steaks - really where they should shine... they did. I've been to this restaurant years past for a trade show and I've always enjoyed the atmosphere and the food I had medallions with lobster, crabcake and shrimp and it was all perfectly seasoned. The medallions steaks were a little underdone, but I saved them for later and I think they'll be fine. Always a favorite of mine. My usual go to seating is the bar. Aaron, Camryn, Malachi and all the others are so friendly and make fantastic drinks! Love the bar menu - when eating with just one the portions are perfect. The calamari is fantastic - great flavor and love the peppers in it. The oysters Rockefeller are also a favorite - you get 4 which is perfect portion for one. Their new happy hour special with oysters, Cesar salad, truffle fries, and a martini for $39 is such a great deal on such high end things that I find myself going for dinner more often. And if you're going for the steak - you absolutely cannot go wrong with any of them. The filet is great for a smaller portion for one but when going with a friend we recently shared the prime ribeye. Easily one of the best steak we've ever had. Had the scalloped potatoes to go with and they were fantastic and cheesy. The Dels salad is also a great go to for me. The fresh bacon on it is a nice touch and the dressing is light but so tasty. My absolutely favorite thing about del friscos though, the butter cake!!!! Save room for the butter cake. Honestly as minimal as these were when they came out we thought they were free and were surprised that they charge that much for them. Most disappointing was that the restaurant does not whatsoever hold up the dress code. It was Saturday night and we were dressed up for a special occasion and we saw a lot of crocs, hoodies, flannel pajama pants, cut off jean shorts and T-shirt etc. Our bill with tip was $400 for 2 and we decided that we'll go elsewhere next time we celebrate. This was one of the most disappointing steakhouse experiences I've ever had, and it's clear this restaurant is living on the reputation of its glory years -- years that have long since passed it by. What's most telling is that not a single one of the Double Eagle locations, which are supposed to represent the "premier name in steak" even holds a five-star rating anywhere in North Texas. With multiple higher-rated steakhouses just blocks away, you would think they would defend their reputation, but they sadly no longer do. When five of the eight steaks at a table are sent back in a so-called premier steakhouse, you immediately know something is wrong. Three steaks were eventually re-fired to an acceptable level, but one steak had to be sent back repeatedly. Did they replace it with a new properly cooked steaks, like every other high end steakhouse on a 2nd re-fire? No! Instead, the manager came to the table and told my family they didn't know what a proper medium-rare looked like (cold red center is not medium rare!). It was so absurd that even our waiter laughed out loud. By the time those steaks finally reached "edible," they had been cut-into so many times they looked like puppy kibble. The bar service deserves its own mention -- and not in a good way. At a table of ten (10) people all ordering martinis, the bar could not produce more than one cocktail at a time. Drinks trickled out slowly and never arrived together, which meant we couldn't even have a proper toast for our celebration. To be clear, while the kitchen may have been busy and the bar may simply need additional training, our waiter Eric did absolutely everything he could to try and save the night! He was outstanding, professional, and the only bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience. Unfortunately, the manager's elitist attitude erased any goodwill and makes this a ZERO STAR experience. Del Frisco's has been a Fort Worth steakhouse staple for decades. I felt that I've grown with it as it was my first taste of a traditional upscale when I moved here. I still love the romantic ambience & overall beauty it represents. Not the biggest fan of some of the recent changes to the avocado goddess salad and bread. Salad quality is still good but I miss the past bacon strips vs the bits of recent. The Avocado Goddess dressing is till amazing. My filet was good but lacked the flavor and moisture I have had before. Service is always excellent. My Hibiscus Strawberry cheesecake was very mild with good texture. 4 stars because of my favorable history and relationship with this restaurant, but hoping my next visit will wow me again. read more

WOW what a gorgeous restaurant! I had the opportunity to come for a 360West magazine events and was so impressed! The bar area is stunning. Lots of gorgeous wood work and antique decor. Staff was so professional and courteous. We got to enjoy the restuarant from the upstairs area and there was also a bar ans some seating up there as well. We got to enjoy shrimp cocktail, Thick-Cut Nueske's Bacon, and Wagu meatballs. EVERYTHING was delish! The bacon was my fav!! We also had Old Fashioned and VIP for cocktails. Recently had our company Christmas party there. Perfectly-sized room for about 20. The restaurant staffed our party with 3 or 4 folks which made for great and attentive service. Restaurant week here and Del Frisco is delivering. What a beautiful building, looks like an old time saloon, I love the wood work, railings and lighting fixtures this is an elegant space. I had so much food my belly is about to burst, we had two signature experiences for $99 each, menu attached. For starters the Wagyu Meatballs and Tuna Sashimi are fire. There is a slight heat to the Meatballs thanks to the chili but what an incredible tomato sauce with flavorful depth, I could have eaten that as my main meal and been very happy highly recommend. The Sashimi in truffle soy is the best sushi grade tuna I've had in years and the light sauce is a compliment to the texture and flavor of tuna. The tuna is so good it makes me wonder what I'm eating at poke shops around here- this tuna is superior by far. The main dishes we had Prime Ribeye and scallops. The Ribeye is tender served with potatoes and green beans while the scallops do not have a side dish. I ordered the truffle twice baked potato for +$16, while the potato was delish it's not the perfect pairing to my scallop meal. I wish they offered a few less scallops and played with some risotto or other plated side to give the entree more variety. To end the meal we had Coffee Toffee Bread Pudding the Chocolate Mousse both were rich, dense and packed with sweet goodness. So the atmosphere is lovely, slightly dim so some may need their phone flash light to see the menu, the food is cooked to perfection, and lastly the wait staff is on point, everyone is pitching in and they are moving. Every few minutes someone is circulating to top off waters, all staff bus tables clearing off plates when available, deliver food, and ensuring customers are taken care of to include what I assume is the floor manger jumping in where needed. The logistics is a well run machine and I saw nothing but hustle and a well trained wait staff- it was very impressive and adds to the 5 star dining experience. Lastly, parking downtown isn't fun but yes there is valet service for $9 a car. I appreciate this price point that allows diners to valet with tip for a fair fee. The service and ambiance at this location was amazing but I do have to say that I was a little disappointed with the main course. I chose salmon and it was cold, not seasoned, did not have any type of sauce and when I read that it came with grapes and arugula I thought for sure it would be tossed in some type of vinaigrette...nope. They just cut grapes, put it on top and placed some arugula on the plate. It was not appetizing at all. No flavor, no seasoning...just dry salmon. My husband's steak was amazing...one of the most amazing ribeyes that we have had and seasoned just right. The fresh bread, cocktails and butter cake saved the day. I would go back just for dessert. Del Frisco's DES is usually a go-to place for fine dining when in Fort Worth. Service is pretty consistent. The ambiance has an old timey feel to it. The crowd tends to be more towards the conservative side, but that's to be expected with Fort Worth. I always default to a ribeye here with the usually sides of mashed potatoes, lobster mac and cheese, and spinach. I usually like the steaks here because they aren't too salty and don't feel you leaving heavily bloated. Other dishes are good as well. Nothing to really distinguish itself from other steakhouses however. I can't remember what my party has had before. Bread is fresh. Only negative is that while staff is attentive, they seem to do rush you. Maybe that's me or the fact they do see a lot of clients and customers. read more

You can't go wrong with the Del Frisco's food, but this location in a historic building really improves the ambience. Our server Reagan was very attentive and friendly, and she checked with the chef multiple times about our dietary restrictions. We started off with the steak tartare and tomato burrata salad. I ordered a prime ribeye and my husband had a dry aged ribeye. Not many places serve a dry aged steak that is aged as long as Del Friscos (45 days), and he loves the earthy, nutty, Unami flavor that comes from that long of a dry aging period. Shanghai-style Fried Calamari was among the better twists on calamari I've had- crispy w/ peppers, peanuts, green onions, & sweet chili glaze. Del's Salad sounds ordinary, but was dressed in avocado-based green goddess dressing, thick-cut bacon slices crisscrossed over greens, & giant, homemade, croutons. Heirloom Tomato & Burrata Salad was fresh & plated beautifully! That's a pretty good start, but where the bragging ends. The shared Tomahawk, Bone-in Ribeye, & Bone-in Filet were delicious, but absent of the memorable wow-factor that so many other steaks enjoyed in Texas & throughout country had. The table went with medium, over medium-rare, as consensus is meat is served on rare side, which did hold true. Lobster Mac & Cheese was favorite side, even over Twice-Baked Truffle, but none left me breathless. Staff did great job considering how packed the house was on Sat night; a considerable wait even w/ reservation, though our sides got dished out to other members of our party without consent in desperate clammer to make room on table.
