Dekalb Nails - I've been going to this place for a lil over a year now and I love I mean I loveee their service, highly recommend!!! - Nail Salons Near Me - Stone Mountain, Georgia

I had heard great things about Dekalb Nails from several friends who have been going there for a while and always had positive experiences, so I decided to try it for the first time. Unfortunately, my visit did not reflect the same experience they described. I arrived at 6:00 PM, but my nails were not started until 8:00 PM, which is the time they close. While I do appreciate that they still took me, I was immediately told the design I originally wanted was too complicated because they were tired and that I should choose something easier. If a salon accepts a client that close to closing, it's frustrating to then be told you can't get the design you want for that reason. I ended up choosing a full French set with one 3D flower accent nail. The technician began the French tips, and when I said I didn't like how they looked, he had no problem redoing them, which I appreciated. However, when it came time to do the flower, he told me he didn't have the proper tool to create it, which was confusing since we had already discussed the design. He attempted to improvise with another tool, but it didn't look right, so I asked for it to be removed. While I was looking for a different design for that nail, he left to work on another client. During that time, I noticed the French tips were still uneven and crooked on several nails. At that point, I asked the manager (Amy) if it would be okay for me to come back the next day so they could fix them, since I wasn't happy with the quality. She initially agreed and told me to come back earlier in the day. However, when I asked if the French could simply be removed that night so I could start fresh the next day, the interaction changed completely. Amy became upset and told me not to come back at all, saying there would be no charge and that it was now a "donation." The way that was said felt very uncomfortable and carried an implication that I was trying to get out of paying, which was not the case at all. I had already agreed to come back the next day to have the set done properly and was fully prepared to pay for the service. The "donation" comment came across as dismissive and unnecessary, especially since the entire conversation up until that point had been about finding a solution to fix the nails. While I appreciate not being charged for work I wasn't satisfied with, the way the situation was handled felt disrespectful and unprofessional. Between the long wait, lack of tools for requested designs, uneven work, and the way management handled the situation, the experience left a very negative impression. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this salon. I hope they improve their customer service and communication moving forward. read more

I heard a lot of good things about this particular salon and I decided to come a lady told me to go to her technicians for my services upon going there the vibe fell off soon as I walked in, but I still sat there. Waited about 20 minutes or so. The guy told me I could come right away and they weren't busy so that's number one number two being there just felt not like what I was told. Girl finishes her services and decides to stand behind me in the salon. I confused of why, but still continued on waiting for the technician to come so the lady messed around and started holding up her phone so I went out to my car to retrieve my card. The lady comes to my car and taps on my window. I tell get away from my car and I grabbed my book bag so I'm putting gotta even do that. That's the point I'm trying to going back in the Amy hand and I tell her if I'm moving too much just tell me don't jerk my hand please. She stays to me don't think we're going to be able to do your services today I said that's fine and left. Don't come here. They are jealous of beautiful women and will make you feel uncomfortable and if you tell them not to do something that you feel is disrespectful or rude such as jerking as I experience, don't come save your money they're rude all of them read more

Consistent in quality. Two people do detailed designs really well. One of the ladies that do a wonderful job is named Amy. Loveee their style pedicures, everyone does an amazing job and gives very good massages. Have never been rushed and usually leave satisfied with my nails. Wait time is never too long for nails. read more

I recently visited this place in hopes of getting my niece's nails done for her homecoming weekend. Now, my niece is 13 and wheelchair bound and the manager immediately denied us service! She was rude and immediately tried to rush us out after I questioned her reasoning as to why. She even yelled " GO WHERE YOU WENT BEFORE"! My niece was in tears. Didn't feel like driving too my regular nail shop. So I was looking for something near me, decided to try this place. All I needed was a simple polish change. They sat me down in the nail chair and the guy was under the table doing my toenails. But before he started one of the managers or whatever asked me what color and one my my toenails I said black. So the guy starts doing my toenails and I can't see what he's doing because he's under the table. By the time I'm done I realize that he painted my toes white and he did not even cut my toenails which were extremely long he literally just took polish off and put new polish on. I've done polish change on my toes multiple times and they always cut inside my toenails.As a result I bump my toenail in almost all of it comes off. Soooo I will not be returning here. read more

Usually when I ask for clear nails,.. they're never glass clear. I came here and they knew exactly what I meant!!. Very reasonable prices and I never have to wait long. Also good with my eyebrows and pedicures. If something not right,.. quick to fix, no charge. I'll keep coming back. read more

I don't get my nails done much because it's difficult to find a place where the nail technicians are nice, efficient, and skilled. It's located in this quiet strip mall that's barely noticeable but I decided to go to it instead of LT nails in Decatur. I am very picky about where I go. Even though Dekalb Nails doesn't have a website and just a barely maintained Facebook page, I noticed that they treated their customers well and were into customer satisfaction/interaction with the amount of giveaways/events they had. I didn't have an appointment but our of group of three (guys and girls) walked in on a Saturday afternoon and were promptly greeted, seated, and taken care of. There was a girl who sat at the front desk and I asked her if they did gel nails and she said, "Yes," in good spirits. I forgot to ask the nail technicians for their names but I will next time. At first, I only wanted a gel manicure. I was seated with the nail technician who looked at my nails. I asked how much it cost for a pedicure as well and she broke it down for me. Mani/pedi was $25 and the gel color nail service was $15 totaling to $40. Ecstatic, I asked if I could go ahead and do that, and she took me over to the spa chair and brought another nail technician to do my pedicure. By this time, I already had on cuticle softening gel and warming mitts, but the nail technician who did my manicure even took off my boots for me and carried my purse before we started the session. I was surprised because I'm not used to being pampered! I'm a very understanding and nice customer but they kept telling me to relax. Eventually, I did and we all ended up chatting and the nail technicians were very nice. The nail technician who worked on my pedicure is younger, in her late teens/early 20s and was extremely fast with painting my toes but her job was immaculate. She had asked me what color I wanted (I forgot to choose my colors) and I told her I liked hot pink. She went and chose a very neon hot pink that looks amazing now that I think about it. The manicurist spoke more and I liked that she was thorough with what she wanted me to do. She actually applied the gel polish while standing up, and even helped me pull my pant legs down while I washed my hands. I think the price and service quality definitely match up and I have even considered coming back to get my nails done regularly. I just hope every future experience will be just as good! Overall, it was $70 for three pedicures, one manicure with a gel polish service. I can't stop staring at my nails (which are a mood polish by the way) because they look so nice. I'd definitely recommend this place. I want to experiment with 3D nail art so we'll see how it goes from there. read more

I got really excited, thinking that I had until 7pm to get my nails done and I show up a little after 6 to what looks like a ghost town. The sign on the window says the place closes at 6. I am so disappointed. read more

I went around 1pm and there were about 6 people already being serviced. It seemed like a lot for a Thursday afternoon. There was not a wait. They seemed well staffed. The lady started working on my gel mani right away. I haven't had my nails done in about a year. I don't maintain then like I should so keep in my they looked a hot mess. The lady was finished with my nail in 15-20 minutes. She didn't have to spend a great deal of time on me but I would have liked for her to pay attention to detail. She lacked detail in a major way. I felt like she could've manicured my nails better. There was skin still left on the side of my nail. I also had to tell her to paint the sides of my nail because they were missing polish. There was polish on my skin. Annnnd she didn't put not a lick of lotion on my hands. No massage either. Needless to say, I don't have to go back. My experience wasn't bad but it wasn't the best place I've been to. read more

I finally found my nail salon! And the best part it is close to my house. I came on a Saturday afternoon and usually nail salons are busy around this time but this one wasn't! I was so happy about that. My baby sister and I got pedicures. They did a great job especially with my 10 year old sister. I kinda wished I would've got a manicure, I was looking at all the other customers manicures and they look SO good. The prices are also affordable. I paid $27 for me and my sister. I've gotten my nails done 3 separate times at this establishment. I was impressed with the many google reviews and friendly staff. So much so, I brought a paying customer. I allowed a newly licensed nail tech to do my fill-in. The results were mediocre, but I was confident in the other nail techs who told me to come back. Since Dekalb Nails is fairly close to my home, I decided to give them another chance. Therefore, I removed my pre-existing acrylic nails and allowed them to give me a full-set. The acrylic was too thick. The weight caused my nails to break clean off. When I returned a week later, no one apologized. This seemed odd, but there are cultural differences, so I didn't make a fuss about it. Two different nail techs replaced the nails that fell off and my left hand was no longer identical to my right hand. Upon leaving, I told the manager and she told me to come back in a week. Well, I came back and the manager/owner wasn't impressive. Every customer solely asks for the manager/owner, and she takes up more time servicing 4 guests at once. Was visiting a family member and came across Dekalb Nails. I walked in and greeting was great. My experience wasn't great and will never come back due to the lack of the detail. I feel like the staff are not experience or don't watch the detail. I got pedicure and felt like i polished my own toes myself. Besides that I was ready to go. As I looked at my toes my polish was coming off because she layered it too much . I asked her kindly to redo it . Now you would think it's done correctly, but no . She had me sitting at a small chair which was very uncomfortable. I paid and tipped her well. As I was walking to my car I looked at my toes and still have the polish looking hideous. I wasn't content. I asked for the manager and of course the owner asked what's wrong with an attitude. Told him I need a different person to polish my toes. He was furious speaking Vietnamese saying awful things and being very loud. Totally unacceptable! I will never go there. Don't support this nail shop. read more
