Here to give some love to Georgia Nails. They're under new management as of 6 months ago and the owner, Mimi, is very nice and willing to explain everything to you. I went to get my first ever set of acrylic overlays and Mimi took the time to explain to me what would look good and how acrylic overlays worked. My nails grow super-fast, so I didn't need tips, and I wanted something to reinforce them since I am very hard on my hands and nails (gardening, farming, playing instruments, etc.). When I first visited this salon, I had just cut my own nails all the way down, so they had to work with virtually nothing and still make it look good. Mimi encased my nails in a nice pale cover pink and freehanded some black French tips before sealing everything up with a gel topcoat. The overlay set was about $45 for the acrylic overlay, cuticle work, and French tips on all 10 nails. It was about two weeks before I returned today to get them filled because the growth was already 1/3" and driving me crazy. I made the appointment on their website, but it didn't go through, so I guess it might've been buggy. I showed up to Georgia Nails today and Mimi wasn't there, but I was helped by another nice nail technician who although is quieter but does amazingly meticulous work. I showed her a Valentine's Day inspired design that included red French tips, mini pearl embellishments, and hand drawn hearts. She did the fill and her filing and shaping of my nails is immaculate. I just can't believe these are my own nails underneath it all and the acrylic is nice and strong but also thin enough to feel natural. If you're like me and just want a strong foundation for your own nails, an acrylic overlay is a great option to extensions. I didn't get the nail tech's name, but she is very petite, younger and sits at table #4. It was pretty welcoming in there and one of the other nail techs, I believe, Ms. Lan remembered me from last time so that was nice. I'll definitely come again since they do great work, the prices are very reasonable ($65 for the fill, repair of some sidewalls, gel polish, cuticle work, and nail art on 4 nails), and pleasantly quiet on weekdays. The nail salon is clean, spacious and even though I didn't get a pedicure, the spa chair basins looked super cool, like they were glass blown or something. Looking forward to coming back again for my fill in two weeks or maybe one week if the growth gets to me sooner. read more

This is usually my go to nail salon for pedicures and fill in/full sets. However, today i'm disappointed in the service. I received a pedicure Thuy which was really good but when my nail service was nice good. I arrived on 3/22/22 at 5:45pm, I wasn't greeted at the door at all and informed a lady I would like a pedicure and fill in. Maybe I should of stopped there since I wasn't greeted upon arrival. Once I was greeted and informed to go to the chair, I proceeded to get my nails done by Angela she did a good job shaping and taking the polish off. But then, she asked If i was getting a pedicure. I let her know yea, she stopped immediately and told me to go get my pedicure and she'll be back. I went to the chair to get my pedicure remind you a hour goes by and my pedicure is complete. By this time, it is 7:15pm, and I am happy with my pedicure but I look over to see my nail technician doing an entire brow tint & shaping service. I am a patient person and understanding but to not check back on a paying client then take awhile to return with no discount or apology is ridiculous. It is now 7:36pm the salon is closing and i'm the second the last person here now. My nails look like the picture below. I wanted this to be a quick in and out service, as I always come here and love how relaxing and chill the atmosphere is. But not servicing your clients that arrived first, respecting their time and ensuring they're well taken care bothers me, and has me reconsidering. The lady's eyebrows were beautiful but the lack of care for time bothers me the most. Definitely was one of my favorite salons in Georgia but now it's a 2/5-3/5 for me. This was my first time driving here and it was fine. The only issue I ran into words what is observed in the picture the guy cut Little too low and my thumb began to bleed. He cut on my ring finger as well but it was just irritated, no bleeding . I really enjoy my pedicure ! I was way over due and the lady made sure she got the dead skin and even took care of nails. Every experience before today was bittersweet. The manager Kim always rude but her staff makes up for it. So today I come into the shop to get a gel full set wanting to keep it at the bare minimum because I'm on a budget but I still want something nice only to have my nails butchered because she didn't expect to be tipped while all the others stood by and laughed then at the end of the visit when my nails were done correctly by somebody else. If I could give 0 stars, I would ... My experience here was AWFUL. The guy working the front right chair was very rude and lied about the amount of time it would be. The man said 5 minutes, and I waited a total of 20 .... When I approached him around the 10 minute mark asking for a time check on when they could start my nails , he proceeded to say a few minutes more ... once I had finally had enough, i told the man in a very nice way, he could've been honest about the wait time (mind you hardly anyone was even there so I'm not sure the hold up) , he completely got IRATE and loud , and was telling me "i have an issue i can leave" ... in what world does a dishonest employee just disregard your concern and their wrong-doings and tell you to leave "if you have a problem" ? Let's start with the poor customer service I received and poor quality of work. Sad that I have to even leave a star to be honest. I came in on a Saturday and had to return on Sunday. I complained 4 times to the owner nothing done about it. All of my nails are lifting from a fill in. I feel that the attitude that I received was very uncalled for. This place is so ghetto. Some of the techs do a great job but my experience was ruined by the ghettoness of it all. Some mud rat was in the pedicure chair playing a video out loud and it was so annoying. No one stepped in to ask her to turn it down or put on head phones. It was awful. OMG. I LOVE my nails. I got tips for the first time since i was in the sixth grade which is like 04-05 (lmao i know) and i LOVE them. I usually just get gel mani and regular pedi but i wanted to try something new and im so glad i did. Rose did my pedi and she definitely knows what she doing. She mad sure to get all the dead and hard skins which some salons act like they're afraid to do so that was a plus. And Amy did my powder-gel tips. They also glow in the dark. I have been here a couple of times now, the first for a fill in and gel polish. More recently, I am for a pedicure with gel polish. For both times, I never had to wait. Service both times have been good, and they are efficient. They have three types of pedicures you can get, and I highly recommend the second one with a mint mask. Although a bit pricier, I think it was worth it. My legs were still tingly when I left from the mint mask. I got a "cat eye" type polish, which turned out to be extra and did not show as well, but after a week and a half now, it still looks like I just got them done yesterday. I can see some people being put off by their exterior and location, but this place is worth giving it a shot. read more

I came here a few times during the pandemic mostly because it was a 2 minute drive down the road and I was too lazy to do research on a good salon in the area. Honestly, what made me stop coming here is that I was always charged different amounts for the exact same service. I was here 3 times and each time I got an SNS manicure, with removal of an existing SNS color. I paid $35, $45, and $40. It's not even the amount that bothers me it's just that they would arbitrarily decide how much I should pay. My nails looked fine each time more or less but would always grow out over with a gap where the cuticle had been which made it snag on my hair, and that sensation drives me crazy. The salon is in a dead plaza next to a phone store and shuttered businesses and I didn't enjoy coming in. The interior is shabby. With the exception of Lin, who was very chatty, the staff were not the friendliest. There are much better options in Decatur. read more

Long story short I got a full set last month then got a fill in and only a one day later a nail break and the next day the nail break !!! I was told to get the fuck out of the building due to expressing I didn't feel the need to pay I was told I had too !
