I really enjoyed this shop for my first time, I loved the way my hair was washed, loved how comfortable I was made to feel by the owner, and she even let me know of a skin condition ive had forever but have never addressed. Perfect, until I called to make a follow up appointment via txt, that wasn't responded to, and when called to confirm, I was told very sharply "well first of all I told you I had a death in the family so that's one, and two, the shop will never be open on a Monday" I was shocked, i replied "you seem very upset with me right now, and i am sorry for your loss" and just as I was talking, she hung up the phone. I am so upset because it has been very hard for me to find someone to do my hair, and she seemed so nice at first. Maybe the family death is taking over her, i feel very sorry for her. $185 for a silk press is far too overpriced. I have long and curly hair, but there is absolutely no reason a silk press should be more than 100 (and that's pushing it). I asked them about it and they basically told me it's due to inflation.. What's unfortunate is the person who did my hair was sooo kind, and she explained everything she was doing /adding to my hair, which I deeply value. And she did a great job. I recently moved to New Jersey from New York and needed my hair done badly after trying another place they screwed my hair up. I did a search on Yelp and found Deidre's. OMG!!! My experience from start to finish was amazing. Upon calling, I was greeted by Rashonda and she asked questions about my hair to get a general feel for what services I needed. She explained where I can park and the directions to locate her salon. She gave me a price estimate as well. I received a text message the day before my appointment to confirm that I will be coming. Upon my arrival, i was given hand sanitizer and my temperature was checked. They gave me a scalp stimulater that was amazing. My hair was trimmed and styled. First visit: Finally I have found the perfect salon for my hair. I have been to two hair salons since we've been in New Jersey. The first one was absolutely terrible. She most definitely didn't know how to do Natural hair. My hair looked like a bird nest. I had to go home and do it all over $70 went down the drain (twist hair style). The second salon gave me a price over the phone. A shampoo and braids (my natural hair) would be $55 well that hair style end up being $80 that's with a $10 coupon, no extra care or treatment was added so basically the price was $90. The coupon didn't do any good, I think they just send them out just to get you to go there. The second time I actually went to the shop to let them look at my hair before I made an appointment. She still couldn't give me a price for a silk press she stated $65 to 85, I'm pretty sure it would have been $85. I wasn't going to be duke again. It sucks because they are only 5 minutes away. Well I decided to continue the search. I found Deidra's Beauty Palace on the Internet and what can I say?!! I am very please with the service (silk press natural hair) my hair feels & looks great and the price is right. The search is over. I will return many times more. Jumped off the natural band wagon and went back to relaxers after 6 years.. I found Diedra's and trusted Rashonda to help me manage my hair. My initial experience here wasn't bad so I went back for a touch up... she ruined my bob cut, scratched my scalp and gave me a protein treatment without asking me prior, then charged me for it... I let that go. Three days later I was at the gym; My hair got really sweaty and I thought I smelled chemicals while I was working out; then thought I must be mistaken because people were cleaning equipment around me. Then, I'm leaving the gym and it was raining I didn't have an umbrella and just made a run for it. Needless to say my hair got wet . I got in my car OMG my hair, my car, smells like chemicals. I decided not to panic. I went and bought some neutralizer just thinking (more like praying) it was me, I'm bugging. I get home and put neutralizer in my hair, put a plastic cap on and watched tv for 30min. Jumped in the shower..... GIRL IT WAS PINK! My entire bathroom and bedroom reeked of relaxer! Now I'm pissed! When I did the repeat, it was still a little pink. why didn't she wash it out thoroughly! Only when I did the third was it clear and then I had to soak my hair in all kinds of hair ANTI BREAKAGE treatments. My husband came home and asked me why our bedroom smells like relaxer Unfortunately, I won't go back there. I went a few weeks ago and I have been forgetting to write this. This isn't a slight to them, they were wonderful. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. The pricing is fair and they are talented hairstylists. Outside of having my braids a bit too tight (my fault, I didn't think they were that tight until the next day) it was pretty good. My second visit, not so great. I bought/used a deal but suddenly there were all these extra charges that popped up after they were done. Have traction alopecia now. I showed the patches that i had the first time and all I got from my stylist was a shrug. Need to have my hair done again somewhere else. read more

I found this place on here and then saw it again looking for a hair salon in the Plainfield area. The salon is clean and the people who work there are professional and knowledgeable. They did a great job on my sew-in. The tracks lay really flat. I was a bit concerned when there was push back on how much of my hair I wanted to leave out since I usually get that done with no issue. She was giving me good advice from a professional because it is best to have little leave out to protect your hair, but I just prefer more of my hair out. This is the least hair I've had out with a sew-in and it still looks natural and really nice. The service included a wash, dry and style so they are truly full service!! Rashonda is an expert stylist and hair care professional. Her weaves are second to none and I have never left her salon without feeling and looking good. Rashonda attends to her customers in a timely way and even when I am getting "the works" I am rarely there longer than two hours, and most times I am done in one and one half hours! I do not have unlimited time for hair care so I really appreciate her timing appointments efficiently, by recognizing how long each service will take. I live in a remote area and trusted my hair to an inexperienced stylist who convinced me glued hair sections were ok on black hair. After about a year, my hair was dry, damaged and so short from breakage I couldn't even pull it up. The first time I saw it in a mirror, I cried. I was begining to give up on a viable solution and thought I would just have to live with either a pixie cut or a wig. We happened to be in NJ on a personal matter and my husband convinced me to try calling area salons to see if anyone could take me on short notice. Deidra's Beauty Palace was a Life Saver! Shakirah, one of the stylists, answered my late call and offered me hope. She agreed to see me the next day. She went above and beyond from the first phone call. She gave me her cell number, instructed me to text her photos of me so she could see the state of my hair and photos of the look I wanted to achieve. She also directed me on what type of hair to buy and where to get it. I could tell just after being in the salon a few mintues that these women knew what they were doing. They had multiple clients but multi-tasked so well, I never waited at any one station too long. She did a phenomenal job on my sew in weave. It was flat, looked natural and she styled it beautifully. Moved to NJ a few months ago and I've been going to Deidra's Beauty palace where they have been taking care of my hair. I have been transitioning from having a perm to being completely natural and the stylist were very knowledgeable in what products were best for my fine hair. I've had a deep conditioner, regular wash, bob cut, a weave and all have come out flawless. Once I had a hair crisis because the hair I ordered for a sew-in came in and was terrible. The stylist at the shop offered to use the hair that they sell, which was a higher quality piece and helped to avoid a sew-in nightmare!
