Last night after class, I took a trip to this restaurant located in the HLC building at MSU. The restaurant was pretty open, but I decided to take a seat at the bar where I was greeted right away. I ordered a glass of their white moscato and a small Colorado Cobb salad with ranch. I loved the wine because it was sweet, but not extremely sweet like most moscatos tend to be. The salad I ordered came out in a timely manner and looked so beautiful. I wish I would've taken a picture, but I was too hungry and decided to eat it all instead. The salad had corn, bleu cheese, bacon, avocado, hard boiled egg, tomatoes and pulled chicken. This literally was the tastiest salad I've had in a long time and it was the perfect size. I didn't feel too full afterwards, but more so extremely content. The pricing of the meal ended up being around $20, tip included. I wouldn't say that is too bad considering how delicious everything was. I definitely would recommend this place if you're ever in the area or need a place to hang out during a break from school. Saw this place on Yelp and nice easy walk from the Pepsi Center. All tables were reserved and so we sat and the bar and Josh took care of us. We had a glass of house wine, I had the Cubano sandwich and my friend had the Gaucho and we both really enjoyed them. Great price for the 2 of us and Josh was a great server/barman. My time in Colorado was short so I did not have time to explore the city of Denver, but I could only imagine how great from my experience here at degree, the food was delicious and the drinks were great not to mention Kat and Heaven making sure I doing okay the whole time, if I ever find myself in Denver again, I know where my first stop will be at! read more

My husband found this place after the NCAA games. It is very close to the Pepsi Center. It was almost empty, but filled up after a bit. It's a teaching/cooking school restaurant. I was very impressed with the clean and modern interior (I watched one of the staff scrub down a beer keg refrigerator before replacing it - great attention to detail). The cocktails are smart and fun. I had a raspberry lemon drop. My husband had a jalepeno martini. We were too full to eat much, but did sample the chips, salsa, and guac. it's very clear that the people here care about the experience. Every bite was delicious and unique. Our friend was staying at the Springhill Suites next door. This spot was conveniently located where we could meet up, hang out, and grab some food. Our server gets an A for effort and engagement. She worked very hard with very little, and I think she was the only server on duty at the time. After we were seated, she told us that 3 out of the 4 or 5 entrees on the menu were unavailable. This struck me as extremely careless given that it was only 7p.m. Did someone not submit the kitchen order in time this week? I ordered a Sazerac. For $9, I got 50-75 mls. of nothing special. I was tempted to ask whether the bartender actually measured the ingredients. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to approach this problem with wait staff or management next time? The food was decent. One of my companions was extremely happy with the ribs. The other had to ask for a replacement for his salad because he was unaware it came with mostly arugula, a dietary restriction of his. The server graciously put in a replacement order for him. I was happy with my gaucho sandwich, although there was barely any pulled chicken. In short, this is a satisfactory option for those staying at the hotel and for students attending school nearby. In addition, it was not a terrible sitting-down experience. Furthermore, the server was outstanding and was working very hard. However, I would not recommend Degree to other neighborhood or city residents when there are so many other places to explore. read more

The open kitchen revealed that the oven had been turned off and we'd not be getting a dessert for the evening. Swing and a miss Marriott The Brussels sprouts were very good. The sever was very attentive at first then lacked in Service as our meal continued. My girlfriend and I had a hard time choosing from the menu so we asked the sever and followed his recommendations. I had the ramen and I could not eat it lucky my girlfriend liked it enough to eat a few bites of it so I didn't have to send it back. she got a chicken sandwich which I ended up eating, well I eat the chicken the bacon and tomatoes cuze there was so much aoil on the bun and lettuce was just overwhelming. The soba noodles salad was very good and was very nice the cook made the exception to our menu substitution. We then proceeded to order a desert that was also recommended by the server, after our sever argued with the cook for five minutes he came back to give his explanation for no dessert and my girlfriend said "well just take the check thank you." The four star rating is for their service, atmosphere, and proximity to things going on. If I could split the rating, I'd give the food three stars. We visited the restaurant since it was in the SpringHill Suites where we were staying at. We were running a little late due to traffic to get ready for a concert across the street at the Pepsi Center. The restaurant was busy but the waitress/hostess was really nice and accommodated us quickly. She took our order quickly as well and made sure our food came out promptly. We even got the free dessert for checking in which the kids devoured. We ordered the gambas, chicken club, bahn you, angus burger and a kids mac and cheese. The flavors were good all around. The burger and chicken club were pretty good, probably four stars on their own. The gambas and mac and cheese were cooked perfectly and seasoned well, also four stars. The bahn you was what docked a star for me. The flavor was good but the bread was too chewy for a bahn mi type sandwich and the meat was reaaally chewy. Tasted good but had to chew it A LOT. The dessert was awesome. We got the Nutella pie which came with ice cream. Really good for a free dessert. I would definitely visit again if staying in the hotel and going to the Pepsi center. read more

Never knew about this place until The Colorado Mammoth Lacrosse team had a celebration party night here. Located right in the hotel of Courtyard Marriott, is a beautiful modern looking restaurant and bar. Outdoor seating available and in a nice secluded spot from the busy street. Inside there is a bar and an upstairs area. The wait staff was nice, and did well with everyone there for the Mammoth event. The menu does change, I looked online prior to eating there and found something that sounded good but when we arrived it was no longer on the menu. The menu is not very big at all just some selective choices for the bar. However the menu does cater to a good amount of people. I got the Vegan veggie burger, which is nice that they note it is vegan just because I can't have dairy. Other American bar food choices were on the menu as well. The food is good and hot when arriving not to mention pretty fast service. If your ever staying in the hotel or just near the Pepsi Center and need a bar to go to with some good food definitely give Degree a try ! read more

Degree Metropolitan Food + Drink exceeded my expectations. I was looking to grab a quick bite to eat before an Avalanche game and stopped in to try their Happy Hour. The street tacos are a must have and their drink specials are very affordable. They're located just across the Courtyard from the SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown and are extremely close to the Pepsi Center. It takes a lot to go wrong for me to take time to right a review. I think this is important for the public to know. Our reservation was initially lost, which should've been our first clue. Of the 6 of us who ordered food: 1 person pulled a hair out of her salad. The server waited 30 minutes before asking her if she'd like anything else. Another person received his pork ribs undercooked and had them sent back. The second order came back well prepared. I had a small salad and bowl of baked potato soup, which resulted in food poisoning. Without a doubt, Degree provides truly quality food at a good price. The Auraria/pepsi center area is starved for actual good food choices, and Degree fills that void. Their salads are fresh and creative (especially their smoked beet and corn bread salads!), and their entrees are surprisingly inexpensive for the quality of food that you get. If you're in the area, it's a little tucked away, but worth the visit. Not a typical hotel restaurant. Great spot for a happy hour as well as they have an extensive Colorado beer and wine list. read more

I had called and made a reservation five days ago for a birthday event on December 3. When I called in today to verify my reservation, I was told that I did not have one. The individual stated he would talk with his manager. I did not receive a phone call back so-I called and spoke with the manager. She was incredibly rude and stated that she had taken my reservation over the phone but somebody on open table, a guest, had canceled the reservation. I have never used open table to make a reservation and thus her story makes no sense. It appears to me that a member of the staff had removed my reservation for another individual. I find this behavior deplorable, incredibly incompetent and rude. I decided to call back and cancel my reservation which was now at the bar. I told her that she will never get my business again and she happily said " OK that's fine have a good night." read more

The restaurant supports and employs the students at Metro State and is just way better than the sports bars that are your other options across the street from the arena. Went to Degree before a volleyball game at Metro State. Once we figured out where it was we realized it's a great location if going to an event on campus or Pepsi Center. Easy access to light rail. Even better, the food was terrific, and Mary, our waitperson was friendly and accommodating. She split the cornbread salad and slaw hog sandwich my sister and I shared so we didn't have to make a mess of it. To quote my sister. "It's little things like that that make a difference." When I first walked in I thought it was closed. There was no body in there except the staff. We got seated and ordered drinks. My beer was flat, my ladies drink was terribly mixed. At that point we should have gotten the hint and left, but we decided to give the food a chance. We were not shocked when we took our first bites and were utterly disgusted! I got the green chili burger, thinking that since it had so many toppings that it would have many delectable flavors, come to find out it was very very badly made. I would have rather driven half a mile and eaten a big mac. The fries had entirely too much salt. Very disappointed... Ordered a few appetizers to go to take up to my room at the Marriott next door. Was greeted efficiently but while I was waiting for my take out at the bar 2 servers got in a heated debate over stealing each other's tables. The manager let them rant on for what seemed forever with me being only 4 feet away. If that wasn't enough the appetizers were terrible. The advertised fresh homemade chips and salsa where clearly cold and from a bag. The quesadilla was not cooked all the way and had cold cheese in the center, and the shrimp was not even edible... Had the WORST dining experience ever here! We made reservations at 6:00pm before the 8pm concert for Sting & Peter Gabriel. We placed our order at 6:20pm and by 7:15pm we had neither our food nor our drinks nor appetizers. Our waiter was like a deer in the headlights and completely forgot to put in our order and then lied to us twice about it by saying "oh, I see it the window, it will be right up" and then disappearing. At 7:25 he rushed by and dropped off the chips and guacamole that we ordered over an hour ago, which we had to gulp down and then rush out to make it to the concert. We never got our food, so I can't review its quality, and then we never saw our waiter again either. What a complete waste of time and money, I will never go to this place again. It's a training place for the culinary school for Metro State, and it shows, its run by a bunch of rookies. read more

Ordered the degree burger for take out. Burger tasted good however it was missing the bacon, blue cheese, and guacamole. I probably should have checked the burger and taken it back for them to remake, but was too hungry. Overall the staff was nice and burger tasted good, but it would have been better if it was what I ordered. It was missing the key ingredients.
