I wish I had heeded the advice seen below but we chose the path of least resistance when first selecting an installer. While the times are unprecedented, the method of customer service chosen by Decor8 was that of delay and lack of clarity: - Two points that seemed to be cover-up scenarios. "I just spoke to the installer and he'll be there within an hour"...he was on site already. - Higher than normal charges on the second bill appeared with deceptive grouping / lesser detail on bill line items. After review, under-scoping by decor8 on the first install was added into a second separate purchase. An item that surely could have been managed between the parties at the time of the initial overrun. - The delay was so much and communication so poor so that we genuinely reported the last installment as potential fraud In addition to customer service, it's important to note that, now, several months later, we're facing our third large quality issue. The reality of home improvement these days is nuanced customer requests and long lead times. Brad Ginsberg of Decr8 is very cunning businessman who uses his salesmanship to get advanced money and does not deliver the products/services. When you call him to see what is going on his promised delivery then he does not pick up his phone. On top of all these, if you gave him a credit cards then he keeps charging over and over for the same products/services. Please spare yourself and do not ever let him enter into your homes/businesses otherwise you will regret it later. We hired Decor8 for a drapery job. We were told 6-8 weeks with stocked fabric, contract was signed and our deposit was taken. I followed up every two weeks starting at 6 weeks (all responses were "soon" and that they were very busy) and by 12 weeks (outside estimate on our signed contract), Brad stopped answering calls and emails and we had to get our lawyer involved. He made lots of comments about our having ulterior motives for getting a lawyer involved, that he would have to delay our installation because of the attorney, etc. We just wanted our draperies. He insulted me saying I didn't understand that all custom jobs go over timeline (read: he never had any intention of completing the project in anywhere close to his stated timeline) and proceeded to list all of his high-end customers and connections. I don't care. You took on our smaller project and were contracted for a service. If it is going to be 12 weeks, tell me. I don't expect everything to go perfectly when we hire contractors, but I do expect to have communication if there are delays with follow-through. We finally got the draperies installed at 14 weeks after they processed the remainder of our payment, but they were significantly too long (Brad had done the measurements himself when he came out for the estimate). They came back 2 weeks later after I had to pin them up myself to collect them to be hemmed. Nearly a month later, I had to reach out again to see if they'd completed the hemming. After all was said and done, it took just shy of 5 months to have draperies for one wall of windows completed for $2000. We did not receive so much as a genuine apology for blowing the timeline, but we did get lots of excuses and terrible customer service. We hired another company for custom draperies for the rest of the first floor of the house without any issues. The work was done on time without so much as a hiccup. Brad likes to dismiss clients who give bad reviews as "not custom customers." That's simply not true; we're just not your customers. I have hired contractors for myriad custom projects and never once had this type of experience. Good product, unfavorable customer service. We had front drapes and roman shades designed and installed from Decor8. They were exactly as we had designed and were very happy with the outcome of the window treatments. Unfortunately when it came to installation, the customer service was shockingly terrible. I had two appointments where no one showed up. When I questioned the owner about the situation, he was discourteous and unapologetic. Though miffed by the situation, we were happy with the product so did not share our experience. Recently, the drapes have started coming out of the wall. I have left two friendly messages over the course of the last four weeks with no response. It saddens me to write a bad review, but want to warn others with our experience. read more

We retained this firm for purchase and installation of blinds and for decorating services. Neither worked out well. Blinds came on time but the installation dragged with many delays and then was incorrect. They did not fix or repair--no customer service-- I had to locate and retain a qualified installer to correct the problems and parts issues remain until this day. They completed only about 40% of the proposed design services and after--in good faith--paying in full never heard from them again. After sending a friendly letter never heard from them. My Dining Room drapes are beautiful! They are the first room my guests see and totally make the room. Jane, the designer, helped me chose the color that would work best with the dining chairs and art work I already had - so not to have more cost added to re - styling the room. Then she helped me chose a fabric that would fall to the floor beautifully. The installer came to hang them and within 2 hours I had a new dining room. I loved them so much they are currently working on my family room !! read more

Brad Ginsberg of Decor8 does not honor his commitments. I purchased a Living Social Voucher for $79 for his company. The Voucher was then good for $300 of either blinds or reupholstery. I had Brad over to give me an estimate for the job. Two weeks later I called him back, received his voice mail, and I left him a message saying I wanted to schedule the work. I never heard back from him. I called an additional 4 times over the next several months. The voucher has not expired. I have taken it up with Living Social, but I wanted other buyers to beware. read more

The whole process leading to the installation of my Hunter Douglas blinds went very well. I was super pleased with the outcome. When a ceiling bracket broke, the advice of Hunter Douglas is to contact the original installer, which I did. After an initial conversation and email exchange, I never heard again from Decor8. I tried to communicate several additional times in order to have one of the brackets holding up my drapes/blinds repaired. There was no follow up or concern expressed by Decor8 related to the broken ceiling bracket. read more

Ordered custom furniture and draperies from Decor8 for a home in the northern suburbs. The items were not inexpensive, but they are GORGEOUS, and of the highest quality. We relied on the designer to help us, not just in picking the right designs and colors, but for understanding the overall feel of the rooms. She was incredibly kind and has an amazing eye. I was a bit nervous about ordering custom, but never again. Never felt rushed in the process, always felt like we were working with friends. A great company. Will do more business soon! read more

The attention that Brad, from Decor8, gives AFTER the sale is shameful. I contracted for verticals months ago in June 2015. I still do not have the useable verticals that I've paid for. They ordered wrong parts and could not properly install my verticals. No followup from Brad. I had to contact him to find out when they would be fixed. I continued to try and find out when they would be installed so we could use them properly. His responses were very sparse, and curt, from an iPad, that said things like "waiting for the parts". When the parts finally did come in, the installer called to come out and fix them. I rearranged our schedule to be home, yet another day. He came out and is a very nice man. He walked in, opened the boxes and said "you've got to be kidding me. These are all wrong." He could not do anything that day and said he would contact Brad right away and request a rush, as this was not right. After not hearing from Brad, I contacted him. He responded that he'd need to talk to Mort. He did not respond to me, I contacted him again. Fast forward....I STILL have no answer as to what is happening with my "rush" order. No idea of when my 2 sets of verticals will be able to be properly used, as I've already paid for. He referred to a warranty. I requested a copy of "the warranty", of which I also still have never received. Brad has NEVER said anything about being sorry for the inconvenience, the delays, the problems,....nothing. I tried, numerous times to contact him and say how disappointed I was that he has never even apologized for the problems, never taken responsibility, never even acknowledged my disappointment. His only response was an excuse on why it wasn't his fault that he didn't followup with me. No apology very, very poor followup. You can get the same verticals through many places. I was sold on believing that I was going with Decor8 for their service. I was taken. I am very disappointed by Decor8 and the lack thereof. I would never recommend this company. Look at companies with more than just a handful of recommendations....My recommendation...Go somewhere else. read more

We could not have been happier with the results of our drapes that were purchased from and installed by Decor8. Brad came out not once but twice to meet with us in person and really took a lot of time to go over our options for drapes and give us his recommendations. We priced out drapes, honeycombs, roller shades, etc from multiple vendors, and Brad's quote blew them out of the water. We were almost hesitant to go with them because the price was so much less than every other quote we had, but ended up going the money saving route and are glad we did. In my opinion our drapes came out nicer than any of the other options we looked at and for the best price! We are 6 months in now and the drapes look as good as they did when they were first installed. Some of the other reviews mention going past the initial timeline and a lack of communication. Our project did take a few weeks longer than anticipated, but they were very communicative and responsive to us when we reached out for updates. Overall, we couldn't be happier, and would highly recommend based on the price and quality of work that we received. read more
