I don't think it's very professional to set up an appointment with someone and try to reschedule because someone else wants that time. I don't think it's my job to call back and reschedule. At that point I felt I didn't want to give them by business. I also used them last year to replace blinds-- the blinds are high quality , and the installation went well. However, after the installation I did not receive an email or phone call from sales person following up to make sure everything went okay with install. Seems like a minor issue; however, something that's been done with services I've had in the past with other companies.

The other 2 companies needed to take my name and call me back; it took 3 days for 1 of the other to return my call and the other one returned my call but was so rude, I decided not to pursue them. Mark came by the house and was very patient listening to what I was needed. He had many samples and was very knowledgeable about his products. I settled on Hunter Douglas because I liked the quality. A few weeks later the blinds came in and he came back to install them as well! I like that I was dealing with the same person from phone, to appointment, to ordering and finally the installation. I had Shutter Hut plantation shutters installed in my older home. Talk about an eye-popping difference! These shutters completely transformed my old dated house in to something new and interesting. I absolutely love the ease and speed of closing the shutters at night for privacy and opening in the morning to let the sun in. My particular installation involved some unique situations and the owner jumped right in and quickly used his expertise to provide a perfect solution during the measuring stage. Recently had shutters installed in our entire first floor and they are beyond perfect. The experience was great. Real wood, custom paint match, 6 week turnaround time and the company is family owned. While the project isn't cheap, Shutter Hut came in with a competitive quote based off the numerous we received. Loved the communication and felt in good hands the whole time. We rehabbed a condo a year ago and have been looking at bare living room windows ever since. We had had Shutter Hut do shutters for the bedrooms and loved them. We had wanted our dining room, living room, and two-story stairwell painted to match the rest of…read moreour lower level. This project included painting some slatted sliding doors, which house our furnace and hot water heater. We also wanted to get 4-inch plantation shutters installed on all of our downstairs windows and in our master bedroom. We also had a few miscellaneous things that the owner said they could help with, including fixing some molding that our previous floor/door installers had left off/too short. The work was scheduled quickly. The painters were so friendly and nice. My elderly dog got sick and they called me at work and let him outside to go potty. The were pretty good with what they painted, but I soon noticed after they left that there was paint splattered on random things--fine sprays of paint on the side of a cabinet, drips on my winter coat hanging in the laundry room, the floors, hardware of the slatted doors, drips between the slats, etc. The molding they had made to fix a previous contractor's boo-boo not only looked awkward, it also wasn't painted. I wish I had said it looked bad at the time he'd shown me before install, but I wasn't really sure how it was going to look after he'd put it in. I'm fairly sure the owner said they'd fix the other door with the same molding issue, but because it wasn't specified on their invoice, I didn't bother to say anything because after all, I wasn't happy with the other one. The shutter installer came a few weeks after the painters once the product arrived. He told me he realized only had received product for one window and the other product needed to be tracked down. Within a few days, it was found and we scheduled another installation date. He came and installed the rest. My husband was home and working and didn't realize that the dining room was missing the split at the 42" mark so we let in light without losing privacy. They came back out again to quickly adjust the shutters. Ewald Interiors came recommended on Facebook to us. Pricing was reasonable based on other quotes we'd received. The house looks better. I love my shutters. I've cleaned up the paint I can. I continue to hate the molding. Would anyone else really notice? Probably not. Would I use Ewald Interiors again? Also, probably not.

They were exactly what I needed. Spoke with the office manager who was able to set up an appointment in a short time. Tom Ewald came to the house, and discussed what I had in mind. He made suggestions based on my style of decorating and the age of my home. The selection of samples was wonderful and I found one I liked. He also suggested a shutter for one window to provide more privacy, and measured everything precisely suggesting the hardware that would blend nicely with the metal already in use. The order arrived in a timely manner and everything was installed before Christmas. The quality is excellent, the installer was a perfectionist and did not leave one spec of dust, and I am so happy with my purchase. I splurged a little, but they had selections for many price ranges.
