For several years I have put off replacing the old original mini blinds in my condo. I wanted good quality blinds, but wasn't sure who to get them from. This is a small husband/wife duo...literally a "mom & pop" company - and that's a good thing. I always get creeped out by having contractors through the house; not knowing who they are, their backgrounds, etc. Bill and Linda are a wonderful, respectful couple that have now completely re-blinded our entire home. The project started out with matching some existing silhouettes for 10-ish windows. Then it expanded throughout the house with a combination of more silhouettes and also some plantain shutters ending up somewhere around 30 total windows! When I first met Bill and Linda, I assumed that after they measured and I agreed to the pricing that some crew would come deliver my window treatments and do the install. In actuality what happens is your window treatments are delivered to your home; Bill keeps a close eye on where they are in the shipment process and schedules he and Linda to come back and do the actual install themselves. Again, not what I expected, but certainly comforting knowing the people that will be in your home. The pricing is very competitive I'm sure due in no small part to their lower overhead compared to the big guys. They were thorough in their measurement process and work up a quote right on the spot for you. Being in sales myself, I appreciate Bill's assumptive close and asking for the order and my credit card right there. Don't be scared away by that - it's his job. They gave me plenty of time when I said I needed to think about it...but ultimately, I called them back to take their deal. read more

They answered promptly, which was a definite plus. They didn't leave us hanging like others did. They were friendly and conversational. However, they began to get pushy and tried to get us to sign up, right then, within a half hour of them showing up, for a price that was out of our budget. I've never had anyone do that before. They need to realize you can't push your customers like that and make them uncomfortable. People need at least a day or two to think it over and compare/contrast prices. When we tried to discuss what we could get within our budget, they thought we were price haggling and told us they won't go lower than what they had quoted. Uh, I was asking what we could do within our budget! Not asking you to lower the price. Also, the lady made a comment about how we would need blackout shades for people who "visit us from overseas" and like to sleep during the day because of time difference. Umm, what?! 99 percent of our family lives in the Chicago area, with the rest in Indiana and Texas. I'm not sure what kind of assumption she was making based off of how we look, but it def didn't give me any comfort. Anyway, their price was higher and their warranty lower than what we were getting elsewhere. Choose wisely. read more

Single best customer experience ever. Jim and Linda installed Hunter Douglas shades on our windows way back in 2007! We sold the house in 2019, and the shades were in fabulous shape, securely and beautifully installed, looking good and operating well. We had no problems at all with them the whole time. Hunter Douglas products are high quality and durable, and very beautiful. The key, though, is that you need a person who knows the product inside-out, who knows how to install them securely and in a unobtrusive way so as not to unnecessarily cover beautiful window casings, and who provides excellent customer support should you have questions or concerns. A+++ for Jim and Linda. Also, their quotes were very competitive and even lower than some quotes for the same products. We made appointments with 5-6 companies and chose Image based on knowledge base of the products, the ability to install them in a unobtrusive way in the window frame (no other company could promise to do that) so as not to cover up woodwork, and the pleasant personality of Jim and Linda. What we got was very high quality installation done by Jim and Linda themselves that withstood 12 years of daily impact by of two high energy boys, excellent customer service for years after installation (if I had a question or issue, I could call and get rapid in person help), a friendly personalized approach, and products that have lasted for 12+ years without any significant problems.
