Our master bedroom blinds broke the day before Christmas Eve. The timeliness of the repair was extremely important to me because the blinds broke in the extended/down position so frost would build up on the windows each morning. Not to mention, it was my side of the bed! After the holiday, I began calling around for an authorized Hunter Douglas location to fix them. I got quite varied responses ranging $65-$80 and from two business days to as long as six weeks for the repair! Then I called The Blind Spot. Garrett told me the mechanism was covered by a lifetime warranty through Hunter Douglas and that he could fix them the week of New Year's. Why was everywhere else giving me false information and extremely long wait times? My husband brought them in on lunch and since the part was in stock, Garrett fixed them while he waited! I couldn't believe that turnaround time and the fact that it was free was also wonderful. This level of customer service is unheard of these days. I highly recommend their location for service and they'd be my first call for future purchases if we decide to upgrade our existing window coverings. read more

I give zero stars for this company. The initial visit to my home went well. However when it came time for installation Pete forgot our appointment then sent his son to install my blinds. He (the son) had no clue what he was doing. He ended up putting a hole in my wall. One of my blinds were damaged. To top it off when I went the next day to speak with Pete about this the Lombard police were at his store ( pretty much surrounded) and the kid was being arrested. By the way my blinds were damaged according to Pete because they have no room inside the store for all of the deliveries so some are kept outside! !! Never again will I do business there. read more

I had blind spot install vertical blinds in a condo I rent out two years ago. once the renters moved and I went in to clean up I realized that the valance would fall when the blinds were opened or closed; I don't believe it was ever attached. I called several times and did once have someone come out to look at it and fix something small.. he stated "now I know what I need to do to fix this" he since told me they are VERY busy but someone else would call and, more than a month later, no one has called. This is the place to go...if you want poor service, fast talking unfulfilled promises and work not performed as paid for! A simple request: repair my Hunter Douglas blind. Paid for at drop off, it was supposed to be converted from pull string to auto raise... Weeks later I called: 'Oh it's here'. OK...it was supposed to be delivered to my home: 'I will bring it by today'...but after 3 (THREE)!) times being promised this home delivery I stopped by to get it myself. 'It's not here...it's at my home' Huh? 'I promise to bring it by today after work' (Me) 'I don't believe you' I was correct. No blind... but another call later that evening: 'I'm soooo sorry yada yada yada..I will bring it by at 9am and refund your money' 9am next day: Another call...another fast talking stammering excuse. Blind showed up on porch later that day....no refund (of course). Glad to have the blind back...but conversion not done! They give me excuse after excuse as to WHERE my blinds are and WHEN they will be finished!
