On top of that I decided our old window treatments weren't quite right for our new gorgeous bathroom so reached out to my trust decorator for recommendations. She said she's had nothing, but great experiences with Gotcha Covered...and looks like (based on the stellar reviews) that many yelpers agree. I called last Monday and found time on a Saturday morning for a sales rep (Jay) to stop by. Saturdays are ideal for my work schedule, although when he stopped by at 10am I had 3 kids I had to kick out of their rooms (especially the teenager) so he walked into a bit of craziness, but didn't seem bothered by it. Within an hour we chose hunter douglas room darkening shades for my kids rooms, as well as a custom made silhouette window shade for our bathroom. My decorator facetimed to help us pick a color and fabric for the window, which ended up being a quick 5 min call. We were able to match all the shades to the existing trim in all the rooms and then Jay was off. Jay promised a quote by Monday, but delivered it Saturday afternoon. While pricey it ended up being much less than I expected (also included a designer referral discount) and I"m really happy with everything we ordered. I did think about shopping around, but decided to just go with Gotcha Covered based on the stellar reviews, great service from Jay and the price seemed fair (even chatgpt agreed :)). They required a 50% deposit to place the order and promised to deliver/install in 4-6 weeks. I'll update my review after installation, but I'm happy so far!

It's been almost a month and after numerous calls and emails all we are told is that nothing can be done and they don't have any ETA. When asked how much longer, they said it could take the whole summer or the year. We made a significant investment on these shades and now may have to purchase new shades since we have a shade less main living room window for almost a month.

We have a custom window in our foyer that had wood on three sides rotting and basically disintegrating. We did not want to replace the window given how long that would take and Igor came replaced all of the wood on all sides of the window, stained it and it honestly looks exactly like it did when it was new. Not only did he do exceptional work, but is neat as a pin in cleaning up after the project was complete. We will absolutely use him again, highly recommend!

I was concerned if Igor would even come to South Shore but without hesitation said he absolutely would. We arranged a time, he inspected the windows of concern, out of the six that I was having troubles with only two needed complete replacement and the others were simple repairs. It took a few weeks for the two windows to be made, not unusual, and this past week he followed up made the appointment and finished the job. I have already referred Igor and Pro Windows to a few friends (whether they need windows or not) because he does a great job and why not share?

Jesse walked me through the scope of work upfront and we moved forward. The job wasn't simple -- the wall behind the shelves had herringbone tile. Jesse opened it up, installed proper backing so the shelves could be bolted in securely, then redid the herringbone tile and matched the existing grout so well you can't tell any repair was ever done. That's exactly the outcome you hope for with tile work. While he was in there, he also fixed a leaking tub spout that required opening another section of wall for plumbing work, then patched and painted it back to seamless. Jesse's attention to detail was outstanding throughout. I'll be calling him for any future work at the house.

Garrett Swanson at The Blind Spot is an absolute lifesaver, and his honesty and professionalism are truly unmatched! We have about 15 Hunter Douglas window shades in our home, and one of the mounting brackets recently needed to be replaced. We reached out to several other Hunter Douglas dealers in the Oak Brook area, and every single one of them gave us the same frustrating answer: they claimed the part was no longer available and quoted us over $2,500.00 to completely replace the very large window treatment! Refusing to give up, we searched further and contacted Garrett Swanson at The Blind Spot. He completely blew us away. Not only did he know exactly what we needed, but he pleasantly surprised us by letting us know that he actually had the newly designed replacement bracket in stock. It is so rare today to find business owners who actually do what they promise. She calculated the costs for the different options with the measurements and provided us with adequate time & privacy to discuss for decision making. We opted for purchasing blinds and having them install the blinds for us. The Process: 1) View options & select blinds. 2) Order & make down payment. 3) It will take a couple weeks for the blinds to come in. 4) If you opt to have them install the blinds for you, it'll be a $75 service fee. Otherwise, they will call when the blinds are ready for pick up. 5) Staff will come to install the blinds. The staff that installed the blinds was very kind and respectful of our property (wore the shoe covers/booties over his shoes and placed a tarpe on the floor prior to placing down his equipment). He also kindly moved one of the blinds (we already had) downstairs upstairs and placed it in for us. Upon completion, they also sent us a nice "thank you card" along with a SB card. I appreciated the extra touch & customer service. The blinds look nice and it was a quick and stress free process. I'll be coming back to order my blinds here.

My grandfather's WWII veteran flag case was accidentally knocked over and the front glass shattered…read morewhen it fell. My father was heartbroken because his dad was his hero, and seeing the case damaged really affected him. As a Christmas present, I wanted to repair the box, replace the glass, and ceremoniously refold the flag that had come unfurled when the box fell. I stopped by four different places to have it repaired, but each one said they could not do it and suggested buying a new case instead. While replacing it would have been easier and probably cheaper, my father was deeply sentimental about the original case. I finally visited House of Glass in Elmhurst. Not only did they agree to replace the glass, Linda told me it would be their honor to help after hearing the story. I am so grateful for the people there at House of Glass. I dropped it off right before closing, and they had it ready for pick-up early the next day. I have since had the flag refolded at the local American Legion, and the restored case is now wrapped and waiting under the tree for my father to open on Christmas morning.
