Rachel was prompt, professional, and brought many samples for me to view. Since she keyed in on what I liked (in part by looking at an adjoining room - colors, existing treatments, etc.) she didn't have to schlep all the sample books into the house. That tends to be overwhelming for me. I had plenty of options from the books she brought in, and her trunk had anything else I might want to look through. She definitely offered more selections than any of the decorating, home improvement, etc. stores I've been to, and the whole experience was much easier than trying to take home and return swatches. I love the Silhouettes that we choose for the dining room. There are 2 windows, and one is very large and faces the front of the house. It's always been difficult to find a treatment that allows in all the light I want but also offers different degrees of privacy. She really nailed it. When I come down the stairs this window is the first thing I see and it's beautiful. I can let the sunshine in early in the day, or filter it, and have privacy but not feel closed in in the evening. I love the way the shades look in the day and in the evening. They take on a different hue depending upon the light in the room, and whether I have them up or down, etc. Had I picked these out on my own I don't think I would've gotten it right nor been happy.(Been there, done that). These kinds of purchases are definitely investments, and you want to get it right. I'll call Rachel again anytime I need decorating advice or purchases. :) read more

My experience with Beyond Shades was absolutely fantastic. My family and I moved into a 100+ year old historic home in Oak Park that had undergone a gut rehab. The updates we did to the home, as well as our furniture and decor, were contemporary, yet there were touches that we kept vintage as a nod to the history of the home (dark woodwork, original stained glass windows, etc.) and I had absolutely no idea what window treatments would look best in each room. We had over 30 windows in need of window treatments and I was at a complete loss as to where to start! Well, enter Rachel and Beyond Shades. Rachel is a complete professional. She has a great design aesthetic, and really helped me to narrow down my choices as to the looks, colors, materials, that would look the best in my home. I am thrilled with the final look and could not be happier! Window treatments are an investment and you want to go with someone you can trust to deliver - and Rachel went above and beyond. Everything from the quality of the product, to the delivery time, to her awesome installation team, was top notch. I cannot recommend Beyond Shades highly enough! Thanks Rachel for everything! read more

First of all I would like to say, it was a execellent experience with people at Beyond shades. Rachel was our sales person, she did an amazing job of prompt follow up from beginning till the end. She also helped with choosing the right shades for the right budget I was hoping to get. She was so kind enough to come to our home several times to show us the samples until I was satisfied with my choice and also gave beautiful suggestions to fit my needs. Due to personal reasons I wanted the blinds and shades to be installed sooner and again she did some magic to get them shipped and installed in just 2 weeks. Kary and another helper came over the very next day to install them and did a clean and professional job in less than 3 hours. Now my windows and patio door shades look much better and appealing than before. Thanks Rachel and Kary. They are such nice people to talk to. And again thanks Beyond Shades. read more

Working with Beyond Shades was a pleasure. We purchased Plantation shutters, blinds, and shades, for several rooms in our newly renovated historic 130 year old home, also including a sheer fabric covering for the window in an entry door. Rachel was knowledgeable about the products, helpful with her recommendations, always responsive when we had questions. The product line is top quality and her experienced installer was a pleasure to have in our home, as well. Rachel made the entire process easy and smooth by providing updates and following through. Her diligence and attention to her customers goes a step beyond all others. Her customers are important to her and you will not get better customer service anywhere else. In short, Rachel is a true professional. I cannot recommend Rachel and Beyond Shades highly enough. I wish I had more windows so that I could use them again!! read more

What a fantastic experience! We loved working with Rachel and her team. We were new to our home when we received her post card. We were sold after our first consultation. Rachel was a natural. She observed our decor and made recommendations that fit both our lifestyle and personality. Additionally, she provided updates along the way to confirm when our shutters shipped. Her Installation Team is also unmatched. Kary is a professional who was timely and mindful of his working area. It was a small thing that our family appreciated. When you pay as much as you do for window treatment, your consultant's knowledge, quality, responsiveness and professionalism is important. We got all of that and more. Most importantly, we love our shutters!!! read more

The second time I have used Rachel with Beyond Shades with Kary as the professional installer and there service and design work does not disappoint. The visit with Rachel to initialing choose window treatments to pull kitchen and den together was fun, and we looked through many options together. She listened to my concerns and thoughts, and steered me in the right direction. After a kitchen redo, I certainly needed some guidance.Today installation is done, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE how the treatments bring the rooms together. I am so very pleased. I may be done with interior decorating for a while now, but will be passing on Rachel's information to all my friends. I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience! Rachel from Beyond Shades was so wonderful to work with! Lots of beautiful fabrics to choose from and she has great taste too! We purchased cornices for our very large windows in our living and dining rooms - the fabrics Rachel helped us choose make these fabulous centerpieces. The customer service Rachel provides is stellar; she kept us up-to-date on our order, was always on time and very professional. The team that Rachel uses for installation is great too! They verified the measurements before the order was submitted and when it came time to install, they were fast, extremely courteous and made sure to clean up all the packaging. The whole experience was not stressful but rather enjoyable! read more

We had no less than seven different blinds companies come out and provide quotes. We got quite the range and various sales pitches. Window coverings are expensive and there's a huge range in quality. In our dealings with several vendors and managing quotes for comparison, Rachel at Beyond Shades stood out due to her professionalism, knowledge of product and competitive pricing on Hunter Douglas products. Rachel and her team were able to make recommendations in our budget and provided a quick install. We're thrilled with the finished product and the level of customer service and follow up they've provided has been outstanding. Fantastic service and beautiful products and installation! read more

We had 4 different blinds companies come out and give us a quote on doing our whole house (28 windows) and in the end, Rachel's quote was better than the other companies and we trusted Hunter Douglas as a brand. Her customer service was better than the other companies as well and she went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied in the end. Kary the installer did a professional job on his end of the project, my only complaint being that it was my responsibility to remove and recycle all the cardboard boxes that are left from installing so many window treatments. read more

Rachel with Beyond Shades was fantastic to work with and made the process quick, affordable and we could not be happier. She got us on her calendar quickly, simplified the process of selecting the products that matched our style, kept in touch while our shades were being prepared and got the installation scheduled in just a few weeks while also setting us up with temporary shades for some privacy while we waited. She is professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Beyond Shades for their excellent service and wonderful products. read more

I am the coordinator of a food pantry and we recently were lucky enough to be funded to build a new place. I contacted Rachel about getting roller shades for the 6 large windows. Rachel was extremely efficient in answering my requests and knew exactly what we needed. She was extremely professional to work with. The shades are lovely complement to our new facility in the community. Personally, I have a fear of trying to figure out window treatments for my home and so will be using Rachel in the future for my personal needs too. read more

Great communication through entire process. We could not be more pleased with our results or their service. Exceptional communication from start to finish and our order arrived sooner than promised. We decided to go into the showroom to check out shades. It was a bit overwhelming but their workers where super helpful. Rose brought samples out to our home and helped us with colors. The installers were also really good. We went with the remote controlled shades and they are awesome. We would highly recommended this company. read more
