Mark came out very quickly and did a great job repairing my blinds, for a very reasonable price!

9/10; would recommend!…read more I hired the America's Flooring team when I moved into a new house and needed locks changed. Initial contact: We stopped by the store and were introduced to Brian. He was very warm and personable (he recommended a lunch spot nearby that is now one of our favorites in the area!) He walked through all the details with us, gave us a bunch of advice (not in an overbearing way all though - which I'm sensitive to), and made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. Getting the work done: I was able to text Brian throughout and he texted to check to make sure things were going well, which was helpful. The project manager for the crew was on top of things and made sure everything was being done to our expectations. A team came first to rip out the old floor and then the installation crew came to level the floor and install carpet and hardwood. They paid attention to all the details and gave me options (with pricing) when they found unexpected issues in our new house. Everything was done on time and as expected. The quality of the installation was excellent - corners were sharp, no gaps or issues with the hardwood, carpet was installed really well, etc. The only concern I had was that the flooring people didn't take the molding they had to rip out/replace, which should have been thrown out; Brian had them take care of that after I reached out about the problem, so the issue was resolved (though it would have been nice if the crew had taken all the molding without me needing to intervene). Vibes: Brian, our sales rep / account manager, was wonderful. The crew was fine; they left toilet seats up in bathrooms when they left which isn't the end of the world but is a personal pet peeve and it made me feel like they didn't treat my house with full respect. Otherwise they were very orderly and cleaned up each day after leaving. Cost: Pricing was all competitive with other companies I considered. Overall: I'll likely be hiring them again! They're better than any other flooring company I've hired, and I've hired a few in the last 5 years.

We recently rehabbed our old bathroom and purchased a lot of tile and grout, etc at the Mt Prospect…read moreCentury Tile store. We made MANY visits to the store to choose tile, get last minute supplies and extra tile, ask questions and so forth. The staff was always helpful and patient. If some product wasn't in stock, they were always able to get it from their warehouse by the next morning. When the project was completed we returned plenty of unused tile. The return process was very easy: they unload your car at the back door and you go around to the front to get reimbursed on your credit card. No hassle. Our bathroom project was an ordeal, but Century Tile made it easier.

On this cloudy Chicago morning, I sit at my desk with the Century Tile paperwork at my side, ready…read morefor the file. Today, thank heaven, the sun is not spotlighting my failed floor, which is noticeably higher than the adjacent living room floor, like somebody screwed up, and has a bubble about six inches in, as well as a slightly sunken and irregular area, both just at the threshold where the sun relentlessly reveals the defects every bright morning. And all day long, for that matter, but I try not to look. God knows I tried. After saving the money for a new floor for ages, I was resolved to practice every due diligence. I therefore examined well the proposal the salesman from the Rand Road Century Tile presented to me, which clearly stated that the existing floor would be removed and disposed of by the company, as we had discussed. That was important to me for practical, not cosmetic, reasons. My Chicago garden apartment has everything low, including the counter-top over my dishwasher. There was precious little clearance, and I was very, very, very concerned the dishwasher would come out easily in case of need, as it had twice before when the below-ground outside wall had been breached by rats and the exterminator needed access to that wall. I had told the salesman this, as well as their installation expert, Mike, who had assured me on his subsequent visit that there would be no reason to worry on that score. He had also assured me, with a look of professional horror, that the floor once laid would absolutely, certainly be 'rolled.' (I'd done a little homework on the tricky installation of sheet vinyl and found that rolling was essential.) But the installers didn't remove the existing flooring as specified by the proposal, and simply laid the vinyl over the top of the old tile, and they didn't use a roller but instead brushed a two-by-four with a glued piece of carpeting over the top. I had protested at the time, but they politely but firmly ignored me, saying Mike had given them their instructions. They were happily done in less than three hours and on their way. And so for my beautiful new floor I was left instead with the bubble and sunken area at the threshold, glowing in every sunrise, and a nagging worry about the dishwasher removal in case of need, all in violation of the proposal I'd been given, or, in the case of the rolling, the verbal assurance Mike had given me. I protested after the fact, of course, since the work came with a'no-questions lifetime guarantee,' and I am writing here to tell you, don't believe it, or rather, be prepared to pony up for legal representation to enforce it. A proposal from Century Tile is worthless. Mike and subsequently other office personnel informed me that the work order following the proposal is what actually rules the agreement (although this is contrary to every other professional proposal you will ever receive), and my work order had clearly said they would 'skim' the floor, as if the client would surely know that contradicted the formal proposal that said the existing flooring would be removed. Which I hadn't realized. And how would I? What, after all, is 'skim'? And now removing the spoiled floor was out of the question, apparently. Mike eventually came out (an hour late and on his phone), pried up the vinyl at the threshold, did some scraping of the rough sunken area, laid down more glue, ignored the bubble further into the room, took a picture, and left. And I was glad. We elderly must cut our losses. The very sight of him provoked chest pain. So I am posting this review of Century Tile in Mount Prospect to say to the unwary senior citizen or single woman, don't go there, or if you do, make sure the work order you receive is in word-for-word compliance with the original proposal, because if they are not, you will pay the same money but you will be up the creek, and Mike will tell you so with a sneer. Go somewhere else. These folks have the shiest down to an art form.

I just had Vinyl Wood Look Plank Flooring installed in our entire lower basement level of our home…read more(family room. utility room and bathroom). I must say that the lower level now looks so nice with this new wood look and this flooring (unlike our early laminate floor) will never warp or curl on the edges as our old floor did. The crew did an exceptional job. They arrived on time and were neat and careful during installation too. This job exceeded my expectations as to how it turned our. Nick who worked with us for the estimate was also on time and kept in contact with pricing and we even made some changes which Nick handled easily with no fuss. We now have a lower level where the floor flows continuously into all the rooms with no more thresholds. Great crew as they worked and were very careful as all cuts, trim, miter joints are perfect!! Glad we chose this place as it was a Grand Opening (Rolling Meadows Location) and even saved some nice amount of money!! Thank You Nick & Crew ... GREAT JOB!! Lou

Vic advised the carpet price per square foot included Carpet, Pad and installation. I discussed that we would remove the old carpet and leave the tack strips. The company sent out a third party to measure the job (64.67 sq yards). Boy was I shocked when I saw the written estimate sent to me ( attached below ). $4848.84 which included up charges for measuring the job, $102.59; 2 up charges for installation, $895.27 and $723.71 and new tack strips $233.17. ( so much that these were suppose to be included). Went back to store and spoke to Dina the manager who said those up charges shouldn't be shown on the estimate, they were for internal use only. She redid the estimate (attached below) not showing the up charges and reduced the cost by about $500 ( so much for clear honest pricing on the new estimate). As a retired 30+ year contractor I had an idea for about how much the job should cost ( around $3000 ). I left the store and went to Carpet Outlet , Dundee Road; Palatine. (40 years same Location). Spoke to Jim the owner and gave me an estimate for same quality pet resistant carpet from Mohawk with stain and wear warranty: for $2800 give or take a $100 after the measurement on this Monday (no charge for measurements). Beware on your purchases and check around for pricing. Don't be fooled.
