I have two deep blue leather upholstered recliners that are 18 years old. The overstuffed chair arms had 'collapsed' over time, and also had several areas where the years of wear and tear had resulted in small rips and discolored worn spots. Eduardo and Rebecca came to my home to give me an estimate to re-stuff the arms of the chairs and recover them with matching leather, as long as they could locate some. They were able to find a leather remnant in their shop, and they asked me to come by and approve its usage on the chairs. (The alternative was to use vinyl from the rear of a matching 8 foot couch). I did approve the leather usage, and they then completed the work and returned the chairs in about 3 weeks. Not only did they REALLY improve the chair arm stuffing, they also plumped up the seats. And the work they did on matching the leather, sewing it into the remainder of the original leather, and then refinishing ALL the leather was exceptionally good. UPDDATE: 10-10-2024 Shortly after I left this review, Rebecca contacted me with excuses and promises of delivery of my chairs, which were delayed, but finally happened. The chairs look nice, and I believe the work is good quality. My guess is that this business is a victim of its own success, and that they are accepting more work than they can possibly complete on time. That's why there are reviews that are either very good or very bad. I would use this business again, but I would call every week to be sure I got a timely delivery. And I would be sure there was a delivery date on the estimate/deposit receipt. END OF UPDATE Rebecca has had my two recliners and the Sunbrella fabric I purchased for them since April 10th of this year. She asked for a $1000 deposit, which I gave her in the form of a check. She cashed the check within 20 mins of leaving my house. She said the job would take 6-8 weeks. I contacted Rebecca on May 20 to see if my chairs could be delivered that week, as I had out of town company coming. She said no, but that she could bring them out the next week, to which I agreed. I didn't hear from her again until I emailed her on September 9, asking her to return my chairs by Friday, September 13. Rebecca responded immediately, saying she couldn't bring them on Friday, but would call me on Saturday at 10 a.m. to arrange a delivery. I finally got an email from her at 1 p.m., saying she didn't have the chairs done due to several problems out of her control the previous Wednesday. She gave me no delivery date or reason she didn't let me know earlier in the week about the "unforeseen issues". I responded with a terse email asking to bring all the pieces of my chairs and my fabric-now. She has not responded. This business (which in essence is Rebecca, has very poor communication. I imagine that if I hadn't emailed her this past week, I might never have heard from her. Her customer service is non-existent. I cannot comment on Rebecca's work, because I haven't seen it. If I ever do get my chairs back, I'll update this review. I definitely do not recommend this business. read more

I would absolutely not recommend them due to very poor workmanship, not able to follow simple directions and extremely late on the completion. I brought in two seat cushions from a sectional sofa to have a small vinyl panel replaced and spoke to Edwardo. It's made up of a leather panel for the seat and vinyl panels on various sides. I left him a $60 deposit on a $150 job and wrote on the receipt "Replace front black vinyl panel". I was told the vinyl material would be there in about 4 days but after calling back in 5 days, then 8 days, then 14 days, the material was available. They picked up the cushions from my house and asked for more money (seemed odd) so I gave them $20. Again, more promises that it would be done on a certain date only to be pushed back again. When I picked them up, the entire job was botched. They had removed the leather and replaced everything with new vinyl panels. In addition, the entire shape had changed. Originally there was foam on the bottom and a nonwoven stuffing on the top section. They put it together with the foam on the top and the stuffing on the bottom. I couldn't believe it. They admitted it was their mistake and complained that it was a tremendous amount of work for $150. Obviously that's because they didn't follow directions. They wanted another $185 which I refused and agreed on another $85 just so I could get these back. I told them I'd be away for two weeks and would like to get them upon returning. Again, more calls and more delays. Finally we agreed on a day and time. I showed up there and they were closed. I called them twice within 15 minutes and left messages, then finally left. I was livid!! I finally picked them up with the original leather replaced however they fixed the foam/stuffing but the shape was totally distorted. At this point I was tired of dealing with them and took the cushions. Both Rebecca and Edwardo seemed like pleasant hard working people but beware of their work. read more

I used ISU for my outdoor furniture cushions. I had sunbrella covers and needed new inserts and they did a awesome job. They took out old inserts and washed the covers for me and put in new foam insert. They were able to get them back to me within 72 hours! I highly recommend! read more

Beware of Interior Solution Upholstery on Hawley St. in Mundelein. We had a terrible experience - had 12 couch cushions made by them. All except 1 were decent quality but the one was several inches too long and had shoddy stitching. Returned the cushion for correction and they only shortened it but then replaced the foam part of the cushion with possibly used but much cheaper material. When we returned it for the second time, we were told that we must have switched the foam. Then they said they never supplied the foam. Which they did as stated on their invoice. After the second repair they just fixed the stitching but left in the junk foam and told us it is the correct foam. Seems as if since they were already paid they had no intent on repairing their mistake. I hate to trash a local business but I felt like we were really scammed by Interior Solution Upholstery and should let the community know. We have such professional and honest local businesses in the area and this is absolutely NOT one of them. read more

I wrote the first check 9-19-18 and just got my recliner back 12-4-18. It was never supposed to take this long. There was a language barrier that caused misunderstandings, delivery times that came and went without an apology or a call to tell me they weren't coming. I drove to the office and hours were posted indicating "open for business", but it was dark and locked all the time I waited.The price was low and the workmanship OK. Tip: Get a receipt with a date on it, the price, an estimate regarding the time it should be returned and a signature. Ask if they have the equipment to sew around curves, not just straight lines and ask to see examples. If it's a recliner, make sure it reclines as it should when it's returned. Watch them move the piece in case it's dropped. After a number of harsh conversations, I was even asked for more money than originally agreed upon. When pigs fly. read more

This business is frankly run by thieves who do shoddy work when they feel like returning your furniture. They did our dining set and the seams are already falling apart 2 years later even though we rarely use it.
