This was my second time coming in (had a belt replaced last year and it was very reasonably priced). I ended up going with the $60 oil change and full health check (which is pretty good price wise). Turns out i needed about $850-$1000 of work done on my car. I was not thrilled at all - forking out that kinda cash for my 2007 corolla. Adrienne was SO friendly (even after i was quite cranky and a bit rude). He priced out the quote for me and was able to give me some solutions and options to make it a little cheaper. When i booked my appointment, the guys were quick, super nice and even knocked of some of labour cost for me. I know I can trust them and they showed me the parts that they replaced and gave me confidence to get back on the road! Will defs be bringing my car in for servicing when needed.

I appreciate their good customer service oriented attitudes and expert knowledge on tires. Also, I appreciate their honest suggestions and professionalism. Jaime, the senior assistant manager is very knowledgeable and he was very helpful both in person and over the phone. Mike, the technician, was nice and thorough re: checking my tires and brake parts. Bobby is conscientious in keeping me updated with car service info. Free coffee, tea and WiFi available in the waiting area. They seem well stocked in tires inventory and it's helpful that Kaltire labels their display tires with their own independent tire testing results, making it easy for a novice like me to shop for tires. Value - Tho I haven't done price comparison on their tire services with other places, they offer good value for me by having so many locations where you can trace your car service details and tire replacement info in their computer system at any KalTire store. Thus, I would return for convenience in tracking tire replacement and service history details.

I came to switch tires and do alignment service to make sure everything is good when I leave. It took them almost 4 hours because they were overbooked and there was a long queue for the alignment machine. They changed the tires in an hour or so but 3 hrs for the alignment machine is ridiculous. They have the shop music blasting so loud that I could hear it as I arrived for my appointment. They also park a vehicle right at the Boundary Road entrance so it's partially blocking it. Not sure why they park a vehicle there, maybe to control the speed of people coming in. I saw one person needing to back up a little back onto Boundary Road, just to adjust to squeeze through. Not safe since Boundary is a busy road. Best to enter/exit from the Kitchener entrance. When my vehicle was ready, they didn't go over the invoice or alignment sheet. They just handed the invoice and told me the cost. I will go back to the previous location i used to go to, even if it's further away.

That is why the service I expect and get is equivalent to that of any Mercedes dealership. Cars today are more complex and require a significant investment in diagnostic equipment. And so I drive off on a road trip, fully confident the car will perform optimally and If youcarry me safely to destinations. Another thing I like is being able to drop the car off in the morning and pick it up at the end of the day. In the interim, the skytrain and transit gets me to where I am going. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? It was only after I paid that I came to realize how ridiculous this cost is, and luckily it was before I had anything fixed by these guys. I called 5+ other mechanics in the city who all laughed at this cost. The most any of them would charge to run this diagnostic was $50. I took my car to another mechanic who charged $600 for the same job that The Garage quoted me $1100 for...and guess what? They ran the diagnostic for FREE before advising that any work be done. I watched him do this in about 2 minutes. I'm not sure if they sized me up and thought that they could over charge because I'm a woman and I don't know a lot about cars, but I'm sure anyone who knows ANYTHING about cars would laugh in their faces if told it would cost $170 to run the diagnostic that takes 2 minutes. Needless to say, my friend's dad won't be recommending this place anymore. It's funny that places like this think that they're getting more money by ripping people off, but don't realize how much business they're forfeiting by gaining this bad reputation.

My partner had taken her finicky mini to this place a few times. Each time Frank went the distance, fixed any problem and did it in a timely manner. Recently, our old 76 Chevy was running like poop. He gave us some info, some options and worked on the van that day. In less than 24 hours it was ready to pick up. Brakes were shot, a new alternator was needed, and we dropped in a new battery too. Phewwf! Well worth it. The van feels solid like never before, stops on a toonie, and runs like a dream. I don't know if this thing ever ran this well in the last forty years. Unfortunately, over time I began to notice a pattern. While many repairs and services resulted in positive improvements, they were often accompanied by unusual mistakes or oversights. For example, during a routine oil change, the oil pan drain bolt was stripped. On another occasion, I brought the vehicle in for an A/C repair quote and later discovered the A/C system had been left unplugged. There have been several similar incidents over the years. The staff have always been friendly and well-intentioned, which makes this difficult to say. However, the repeated carelessness has gradually eroded my confidence. While I appreciate the help they have provided, there have been too many instances where attention to detail was lacking, and at times it felt as though my concerns were not being given the level of respect and care they deserved.

The repair itself was completed and the quality of the work was acceptable. but the handling of my vehicle raised serious safety and ethical concerns. When I picked up my car, I was not informed that the battery was dead. The battery had only been recharged enough for the vehicle to start and be driven off the lot. I was not told this, nor was I given the option to replace the battery at my expense. This meant I unknowingly drove a vehicle that was at risk of stalling shortly after pickup. This is a significant safety issue. Had the car shut down while I was on the highway or in heavy traffic, it could have resulted in a dangerous situation. The fact that this occurred during an ICBC repair makes it even more concerning. The overall experience felt rushed, as though the priority was to close my case as quickly as possible rather than ensure the vehicle was safe to return to the customer. While the repair was completed, the lack of disclosure, disregard for customer safety, and unprofessional communication are unacceptable.
