The service was terrible. The food was just above average. My wife's soup didn't come out with the grilled-cheese croutons advertised, and by the time that they got them out she was done. The view by the inter coastal is great. Too bad that the restaurants along the water suck, and this one unfortunately has not changed that rep one bit. Deck 84 is not only a great restaurant with a great staff, it is in the best location that will make you tingle inside due to the sparkling waterfront positioning. I got hot and heavy just looking at my girl bc the view and cocktails... don't get me started. They were not only sublime, but perfectly poured by our bartender Keith. If you come here ask for him and he will make you the best drink alive!!! We had a late lunch here mid-week and sat out on the deck - it was not crowded at all. We ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts, a Cobb salad and a veggie burger. Everything was delicious and the service was very Friendly. We split the key lime pie which was very fresh and tart - so good!! I will definitely be back! The main plates took another 1/2 hour to arrive: a Deck 84 hamburger ($3 extra for a very thin slice of ... cheddar?) and the fish tacos. Gross. The tacos were served on flour tortillas (incorrect and impractical) and the fish was not fresh, a sin for a waterfront restaurant. I complained and got the tacos comped off my bill. To thier favor the restaurant is open to the intracostal and they did let us take our little pup onto the dining deck. Just ate lunch at Deck 84. Only 2 stars ... and here's why ... The view of the inter-coastal waterway is tremendous. Our table ate the shrimp & fish tacos. While the seafood was "blackened" it lacked spice & salt. Served with coleslaw, salsa and guacamole. We drank lemonade on the side. The food was decent, aside from lacking spice & salt. The let down came with the service .... while the food service was quick, there is a strong desire to hustle you out of the restaurant. We sipped our coffee after the meal, and had the server, the manager and a bus-boy come by our table and prompt us to pay up, and move along. We were 3 diners and spent $90, including a decent tip. We spent 2 hours over lunch. Doesn't sound outrageous and yet somehow the waiter & manager expected a faster turnover. Have avoided this spot for a couple years because of the food... nevertheless came with some friends from out of town for the views. Decided on some appetizers- fried green tomatoes and the blackened chicken wings. I was impressed. The tomatoes were light and delicious, with great flavors and textures. The perfect snack for us on a beautiful afternoon. The intracoastal views did not disappoint. Our bartender Bobby made some great suggestions and even better cocktails. The shrimp and fish tacos are to die for. I always order a little extra crema and get the shrimp and fish blackened. Love sitting on the deck with a beer or stop in on a Wednesday for a half price bottle of wine. The deals here are great and the food quality is perfect. Our experience started with the hostesses, extremely friendly, warm smiles and very knowledgeable. While our dinner experience started off rough with the server we originally recieved, after a mention , Mike a (foh) manager quickly rectified this issue and gave us a new server (Nick) who turned out to be outstanding. Very aware of the menu and what pairs well with each other. Mike continued to check on us and our experience, Mike is a awesome person and does extremely well making a guest experience go from ok to phenomenal. Deck 84 is one of our most favorite Saturday or Sunday afternoon spots. The food is great, the bands are fun and the water views are beautiful. The service and bartenders are a 10+. Bridget and Nicole are the absolute best! They always take amazing care of us, including our creating our specially concocted cocktails even when they are busy. They are fun, and upbeat and a huge bonus to our experience. Manager Lauren is a sweetheart and runs the place terrifically. Everything about this place is awesome. My boyfriend and I have come here a number of times on our trips to Delray and have yet to be disappointed. All of the food we have tried has been great, especially the tacos and the spinach and cheese dip. I love sitting at the high tops watching the boats go by. Great service during time of COVID! All staff wearing masks/gloves. Tables well spaced and disinfected between seatings. Food was great - Guacamole was fresh, burger def worth the price, and my fish (Mahi sandwich, sans bread) was fresh/great. Our server (Amber) was so great accommodating our kids and bringing their food out first/fast. She even brought them fresh drinks for the road. Went for my Wife's B'day for Sunday Brunch, but right from when we got there the service was disappointing. The place is not kid friendly, if you have young infant or toddler you are bound to be disappointed, they don't even have high chairs or they hide it and never offer us for the toddlers. The staff is not friendly especially the guy who took us to the table, when we asked for outdoor seating, he reply they cannot join the tables and the kids will be in separate tables with different server, i was almost shocked to hear his statement on how a person can be so naive and unprofessional, and our group was not even that big (6 Adults & 2 toddlers), but did not want to argue since it was my wife's b'day so we settled for a table inside without high chairs and the kids running around the table impossible to control. It was a total mess. Not going back there...Food is average & overprices, have seen better brunch menu's, they really don't care abt. the service they think people are going to go there for the view, but there other waterfront restaurants with better service (Two georges). read more

Just spent over $300 on dry chicken & an obnoxious dockhand named Mike. Trying to figure out the 4 star rating on Yelp. Maybe the cook and the dockhand are having a bad day... and should that be my problem? Came with friends to have a very relaxing time and sorry but left with a bad taste in my mouth about Deck 84! This place had potential... Epic Fail Wait staff confused who was supposed to handle our table. 3 of them came by to say they would be back and none did until @ 20 mins later. Came on a Sunday evening for drinks and a something to eat. Been here many times and it's such a casual and fun atmosphere that we keep coming back. We started with a rosé, islamorada ale, and their Moscow mule. We also got the calamari and the tuna poke. The appetizers were very yummy and came out very quickly! Stopped by Deck 84 last week in the midst of a few stops along the strip. We didn't stay long. John our waiter was kind and very helpful. We ordered the fish dip - which was great. They have little to no GF options so we had to stick with Carrot & Celery sticks. The thing that bothered me was I didn't feel the place was clean. We sat at a green outside table and the top was sticky feeling. The tile floor on the inside of restaurant was black with dirt & discoloration and the tile itself didn't look clean. I used the ladies room and was surprised - at 3pm - that it would be that rough. If you enter from the parking lot there is an air blower to greet you on the floor and the office door is open with a mess of everything - including a taped up office chair. it felt and looked out of place. I know it sounds crazy but a place needs to feel clean and look clean. Outside of John - it just wasn't a great experience. Update: DM from owner regarding this review - based on his response, the fact the fish dip was great and the QR code menu on the table was a smart addition .. I upped to a 3. Went today for lunch for the first time. We sat outside, the weather was amazing today so it made the whole experience that much better. I had their vegetarian burger with French fries. It was quite tasty. The portions are more than generous. Went back a few days later since this restaurant is across from my work, I tried the blackened Mahi sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The most important person in a restaurant, who sets the tone for the evening, is the hostess. The hostess tonight who was wearing a grey sweat shirt is in the wrong job. Checking in for our reservation, we felt dismissed. No eye contact, no smile, no welcome. They sat us at an outside table that had bird waste. I asked to be seated elsewhere and explained why. Guess what. We changed seats but the unfortunate next customer was sat at the uncleaned table we vacated. Yup. No one ever cleaned it off. When we left, the two hostesses were deep into their phones.
