The food is ok, equivalent to semi fast food joints like Friday's or Chile's but the location does make a difference. Disappointed I wasted my Friday night dinner my first night in town. Food quality of a cheap chain restaurant (it might even be a chain, not sure). Our server was decent but the food including both appetizers and both entrees were pretty awful. I expect seafood in Florida to be pretty spot in, especially in the coast so close to the water. The calamari was all breading and they give you basically cheap chipotle mayo that wasn't even good - can't taste the calamari, very possible none even made it into the fryer. The crab stack tasted like old crab that's been sitting out a while bc it was overly fishy (and I love crab), the avocado old, and the mango right out of a can. Tuna steak recommended was bland and had no flavor. I honestly felt bad for the poor fish that died to cooked and served this way. Swordfish was on the daily special list and it was edible as far as being the best thing out of the 4 total disappointing options ordered. Food was okay. Except two people In our party ordered fish fry and one order was good and flaky while the other was tough and gamey. Weird. The main real issue is having called days in advance for a reservation for a special celebration with a large party and asking for outside table. Arrived and was given inside table and told we don't reserve outside tables. This could be been told when RSVP was placed. Management couldn't care less but was more concerned about chatting with the girls and hostesses than about customers. This restaurant is all about location. I love how it is right on the intercostal! The attitude of everyone who works there seems to be snobby and impolite. This was my first time here ! What a fun place ! A band was playing good music and Keith greeted us as soon as we sat down, very friendly and got us food and drink menus right away. Bobby took our drink order, we both got the tripical mules , very tasty . For an appetizer we started off with the ahi tuna poke ( my favorite ), it was so delicious ! For lunch I got the magi sandwich and added American cheese , so fresh and savory to every taste! We had dinner there last Thursday and boy was it good. I so wish I remembered our servers name, because she was as good as it gets. The ambiance was spectacular, a little loud but lively and beautiful. The drinks were fantastic, a rum punch that had a kicker float on it but so delicious and I think it was called over the deck, which was like a strawberry mojito. So so good. The food we had was delicious too. Started with the calamari and zucchini, which was good although the calamari was a bit over cooked and chewy, and the spinach and cheese dip was great. We split the fish tacos and were so content with the meal. I'm so disappointed we don't live in the area or we'd be there weekly. We will be back though! Highly recommend this place. read more

I decided to try this place due to the location even after my mother-in-law said that she didn't recommend it. I should have listened to her. This place is average at best. Waiter was friendly but tried to upsell us on drinks. Happy hour is only at the high tables, otherwise you are paying full price. Our waiter highly recommended the branzino so we order ordered it. Half way through our appetizer the manager comes up to us and tells us that there's no branzino left. Disappointing for our first time there. We ended up ordering the fish and chips and ahi tuna poke bowl which were only okay. We won't be going back. Deck 84 is over priced for its mediocre service and food. I worked at an Italian restaurant in Orlando and greet time was less than 60 secs, even if it was to greet , drop napkins , and say they will be right back if the server was slammed at the moment . Your initial interaction with your server sets the tone for the rest of the experience. It took our server Patty 6 minutes to greet us, and by then we were ready to order. I ordered the avocado toast and my father ordered the fish sandwich with coleslaw. The toast was okay , but honestly not the best . It comes on one slice of what looks like multi grain bread . The bread was really tough and it made it difficult to eat . I didn't like the arugula side salad, so I had some of my father's coleslaw . It was good until I got half ways through eating it and saw someone else's hair in there. This doesn't bother some people , but honestly it ruined my appetite. The worst part of our experience wasn't the food or our servers attentiveness, it was the two buss boys. My father was attempting to slide out of the large booth , and the one buss boy was so antsy he slammed his hand on the booth cushion several times quickly to insinuate hurry the fuck up ! Never in my life have we ever seen that at a restaurant. Normally the buss boys give you a chance to get up , and trust me when I say there was plenty of seats available. They might as well have pushed my father out of the booth , rather than slamming their hands against the booth . Management really needs to get new staff or train them a little better. read more

We had a party of 4 for dinner and Brittany was our server. Two of us gave her very challenging orders as many additions and subtractions were made to the standard menu items. We noticed that Brittany was not writing down the orders, but instead was doing a great job of listening with intermittent follow up questions to make sure we would receive everything as ordered. After she left our table, we all said how amazed we would be if the order came as requested.... After all, she didn't write it down. Within moments, she came back and recited our order so that we could be comfortable she had taken it correctly. Sure enough, everything came perfect except for one minor item. and to our amazement she stopped by the table and noticed without us saying anything. Brittany was personable and probably the best server we've ever had. Next time, we will ask for her again. Great atmosphere and fantastic food! More than likely you will experience a wait if you come between 6-7 but definitely worth it. Have lots of tables that are located outside so you can see the passing of boats. The Mahi mahi tacos were very good and big. My only complaint was one of the hostess was not very friendly. I thought it was maybe just us but I saw her being very rude to a number of guests which ultimately lead to someone getting the manager. They should definitely be aware of this because it may defer some guests that are wanting to try out Deck 84. Overall, great food and atmosphere and we will be back! read more

Deck 84 was recommended to us by our hotel staff. After a long day, we wanted a place to kick-back and relax. People - the Host Desk wasn't exactly accommodating or welcoming. We called for reservations, the woman who answered the phone bantered back-and-forth and decided she couldn't give us a reservation because they weren't "busy enough". Our waitress was a great improvement... however, the wait staff was seemingly absent for the duration of our visit. Place - the restaurant is clean, has a fairly open floor plan and nice colorful decor. The outdoor seating is a large deck area with a beautiful view of the water. The music is a bit loud for my taste. Tables are bright-blue granite that could afford to be better cleaned... a bit sticky. Food - they offer a decent menu with a good variety. We ordered a bottle of wine... nothing special. I could buy the same bottle at the grocery store for $8; they charged $32. The menu is quite pricey - $10-$20 for appetizers and $15-$40 for entrees... the portions are very fair but not quite worth the price. The service isn't fast but the view was nice while we waited. We ordered the Spinach Dip for an appetizer, $13 (yikes) but very nice portion with fresh chips and great flavor. We both ordered burgers for dinner. They were not cooked to order but we had waited so long we decided not to send them back. Make sure to order any "sauces" on the side... they are very heavy... inedible in my opinion. Fair warning, a small rain shower rolled through during dinner. Unfortunately, the tables near the edge of the outdoor seating were soaked... they had to lower the sun-shades to reduce the amount of rain that came sweeping into the deck area. If you sit outside, maybe go for an inner-diningroom table. Sadly, when the sunshades were lowered, the view of the water was gone. Made for a bland end to the dinner. Overall, it was an OK experience. We won't make a point to ever visit Deck 84 again... not terribly disappointed but can't say we were exactly impressed. read more

We came in for dinner and drinks. The appetizers we ordered were more than enough for the two of us and filled us up. Didn't even need to order dinner. The calamari was large and delicious and the seared Tuna was just as tasty. Our server was very friendly and attentive. My local friend had suggested we come here for a waterfront dining experience. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this place, normally places like this have the ambiance but terrible food, but the food was great! First off my husband made reservations for valentines but he made them for the wrong day, the staff was so sweet to try and fix it and had us seated fairly quickly. We sat on the patio overlooking the water, tables were well enough spaced that we felt comfortable going with the kids. We had the fish tacos , fish sandwich and the kids had the pasta. Everything was flavorful and delicious, even for my picky kids who normally never eat anything! We loved this place! Let's face it - when a restaurant overlooks the water, something happens to the food. It's almost as though chefs who work at these stunning locals are distracted or something, but Deck 84 exceeds those expectations. We decided to sit inside on a Friday night where the weather was so humid outside. It was great, sat in the bar area, still overlooked the intercoastal but not melting from the heat. Ordered the conch fritters (delicious), the night special (pan-seared mahi, excellent) and the seafood pasta (very good)! Great wine, good service and a slice of Coconut Cream pie that was DEFINITELY enough to share, probably with 3 more people. Bottom line, if you have visitors, bring them here. Downfall - they only have one vegetarian meal but at least it's not the traditional veggie burger. read more
