Not entirely a fan of this restaurant. I was told that they recently changed the menu, however, I think they should offer more options for the entrees. I initially tried the veggie burger, which was recommended to me by the waitress (She was awesome!); however, if you're not a fan of beets and avocado then this burger is not for you. I don't think the veggie burger was horrible, however, I sent it back because I didn't realize it had soo much beets. I got a regular burger after returning the veggie burger; it was alright. My wife and I enjoy Deck 84 most during a leisurely lunch. Siting by the intracoastal, it's like being on vacation, even for locals. The food is generally very good and reasonably priced. Like the other Rapoport Group Restaurants, Deck 84 is well run with good service and interesting menus. We particularly enjoy the various Chopped Salads, Guacamole and Chips, Fried Calamari, Conch and Shrimp Fritters, and the Flatbreads. The Deck Burgers, Simple Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and Baja Shrimp Tacos are also worthy of note. A slice of Key Lime Pie is an appropriate South Florida finish to the meal. read more

Don't waste your time calling this restaurant unless you are willing to do so multiple times. They will put you in a queue that tells you how important you are, and then simply disconnect you. If you are willing to make multiple attempts, someone might eventually answer, might not. Plenty of others on Atlantic Ave. that don't waste your time. read more

If adding a tip to your credit card, write out the amount in letters, the server changed the tip amount on my credit card.. no way I can prove it now, but I NEVER add cents to a tip, always round up to the nearest dollar or more amount for good service! I have been here about a dozen times with each time as good as the first. They have a good chef here and the food quality is always top notch! Sitting outside with the view of the inlet is always nice. We returned here last Friday night and weren't disappointed. Their specialty drinks are always yummy. Came here with friends who were here for their vacation. Thought it would be a good spot since it was on the water. It was a good atmosphere but our server?! Coming from someone who has been in this industry for 15 years I've had a bad day or two, but I but on a show and made my money no matter what. As a patron, I tip no matter what kind of service I receive, my other half on the other hand, has no tolerance. Alexis was training Lee, who obviously had prior server experience because she took better care of us than our server did. If I had paid the bill maybe she would have gotten a better tip simply because I know what working in a restaurant feels like, but he doesn't. We stopped in with our family of 5 without a reservation at 5:00 on NYE. They got us in a seated right away and the menu selection was extensive enough to please my picky kids. I must be missing something here, because I really want to like this place. I have been here many times, and each time theres something just a little more "off" than the last. Every table is covered with a sticky coating. I understand that it's right on the water, but I have watched the servers use the same dirty dish towel over and over again, even after dropping it on the floor, to wipe the tables. The drinks are usually pretty watered down. The ceiling fans, while I get the concept, are loud, obnoxious, and don't do a very good job at keeping the bugs away. The inside bar is always overcrowded. I wish there were some high tops that were not reserved for wait list sitting. The food is decent, the chips and guac are definitely a favorite, but the overall cleanliness, or lack thereof, is enough to keep me from coming back. read more

Bumped into 'Bo', one of the chefs at Deck 84, in town, and he passed me his card saying, 'we make the best fish tacos in town'. Bo, you were right ! Wife and I went there the other day. Great for Happy Hour! They have great drink specials! Go around 6 or 7pm and watch the sunset! The staff is super friendly and attentive! We are local snowbirds and deck 84 is a favorite restaurant. As far as I'm concerned they have the best calamari on the Ave and possibly all of Delray Beach. Staff are friendly and helpful. On this visit Hubby had the balsamic chicken salad. Deck 84 locally source many of their ingredients and that makes me feel good...and tastes even better! If you're really really hungry or like to share the Box Car Betty chicken sandwich is awesome. Tender chicken with a light crispy batter. Pickles add a nice salty crunch.
