On the top floor of the hotel yotel in the seaport area of Boston you will find the restaurant, Yotel Deck 12. Be prepared to ride the elevator to this rooftop bar and restaurant that has great views, drinks and food. My friend and I started off with drinks and then got the cheese fondue which came with the perfect amount and variety of things to dip it including potatoes, bread, mushrooms and cauliflower. Then we ordered our main food. I got the eggs Benedict and my friend got the French toast. We had a lovely time. The food was great, the service was great and the drinks were great too. Do you go to a rooftop to have the best food in the world? Absolutely not. But what I really appreciated about the rooftop at Yotel was that it was actually pretty good. We got the wings, potato skins, fried pickles, and fries. All things I'd likely get again. I've had bad bar food and this does not fall into that category. But most of all, the service was great. That definitely takes away from the experience as you don't get access to the roof top views from the nicer side of the building. The menu has plenty of food and drink options but is a bit eclectic. We visited Deck 12 with high expectations. I was a little disappointed. We sat in one of the heated gondolas and had to keep moving so our heads didn't burn from the heaters. The patio menu is VERY limited. We had the fondue platter and because they weren't busy they tweaked the dipping platter and took off the meat offering. This was a plus. The beer cheese fondue was ok. Nothing exciting. We were surprised by the pickles which turned out to be one of the best options. The gin cocktail was tasty and the wine offerings were a pleasant surprise. The view is nice if you're just looking for a quick drink with friends but I'd pass on eating there. read more

Don't eat here. Portions are insultingly small, quality is low, service is poor and rude but don't worry, you'll be charged an 18% gratuity automatically and they won't tell you. The views from here are really nice. The drinks are really good. However, do make reservations before coming to get a good seat in the outdoor patio. Also, get used to security coming to check on you and inform you of the timer they set on you. Not exactly, relaxing and enjoyable when hostess and security have to come and ask every 15 minutes what time you arrived only to tell you every 15 minutes that your time is almost up. My friend had scheduled a reservation for 6 individuals on the rooftop for her birthday. Upon arriving, they informed us that our reservation was cancelled. She only received a confirmation text and never was informed that this reservation was cancelled. It was cancelled on THEIR end and they did practically nothing to rectify this issue. They said they had no other availability and the only thing they could do was set us up in the break room. We received subpar service, in which they brought out a "complementary" slice of cake without asking if our party had any allergies (the birthday girl has a severe nut allergy). When we informed the waiter of this he seemed annoyed rather than apologetic. The worst part was that it was a Saturday night, so we could not find a reservation elsewhere for the life of us. They did not seem apologetic at all, and basically left the issue with the poor hostess who had nothing to do with the situation. The least they could've done was given the birthday girl a complementary drink or make us next in line on their wait list, but this option was not even a consideration. Social media influencers are so talented! They made this spot look like a winter wonderland when in reality it's a nice-ish hotel bar that doesn't want to close their rooftop for the season. It makes sense; why lose the covers/revenue? If you made it to the Yotel in season, you should have winter gear on, so why over-heat the roof? It's decorated like a ski lodge, so like you don't mind being a little cold, do you? This has to be the justification in the mind of the team here. The main bar area still looks like a hotel bar where sales teams would link after a day of off-sites, but the imagination gets turned up a notch on the deck. For what it's worth, the deck did look like a lodge and the chairs and such were pretty cool evoking Winter X-Games vibes, but the heaters just weren't cutting it and nothing on the menu is worth freezing your tail off for just to get some flicks off for the gram. Just tried to go to the roof bar 3pm Sunday. Inside totally empty. Asked about getting a drink and got a not straightforward answer about sitting at a table vs the bar. After asking multiple times about sitting outside and them not answering directly, the two women at the front finally said "correct" when I said "so it sounds like outside is not an option". Not sure if they're trained to not say "no", but being clear about "outside is full" or "you have to make a reservation to sit outside" would have been helpful. Let's be honest, there aren't a lot of roof deck options in Boston, so if you want to go to one, you will probably end up here. And that's fine. You will have a great time sipping your cocktail and you will take a fire insta pic with the city skyline in the background.
