We came around 5:00 on a saturday (when they first opened). Though the dining room is quite nice we chose to eat on the patio. Shortly thereafter three other tables filled up. We ordered red wine ( campo viejo- $16- lowest priced red wine)a corona, chaminones ( mushrooms) and almejas ( clams in white wine sauce). The food and service were excellent.... REALLY excellent!!! The prices are very high. $63.57 ( plus a tip). Fortunately we had a substantial lunch or we woud have still been quite hungry. Yes, we would suggest giving them a try. We are so glad we did. Very mixed and slightly negative experience. We came here for my wife's birthday and left disappointed. The Pulpo Gallegos (Octopus) was fishy tasting and not very good. The Albondlgas (Meatballs) were not our favorite though that might just be our taste. The Patatas Bravado (Patatoes) and Aceitunas (Olives) were good but nothing special. We did have two things that were exceptional, the Chuletas (Lamb Chops) and Flan Marcona. While the Flan was probably the best we've ever had it was tainted by the experience with server. When I asked if the do anything for Birthdays he first said let me check. He paused and then said he could do any of the desserts on the menu for my wife's birthday. When the bill came the Flan was included when I asked about it he said he added the candle for her birthday not the dessert. It would have been totally fine if he had just said that from the beginning. This was our favorite restaurant once upon a time so we were excited to see it reopen. When I make comparisons here I will not be trying to hold them to actual Spain, but at least to a general understanding of the dishes, & to their previous performance. ambiance is great, flamenco dancing playing above the bar silently while good flamenco music plays at a volume that makes conversation easy; our waiter was prompt, friendly, & knowledgeable. wine menu is fine. dishes were very hit or miss. Gambas Ajillo are a staple of tapas, typically with sherry or paprika, this was just garlic shrimp. aguacate was fine, ceviche with it was better, tortilla strips were the best part of that dish. We say pulpo is never the wrong answer... but this was nearly impossible to chew and the flavor was more "burnt" & less "smoked", we sent it back. We got the specials instead: fried oysters had a HARD crust but was mush inside, not appetizing. But the rellenos were beautiful! Last we got the asparagus wrapped in jamón, which was very good. Overall, we will go give them another shot, but we'll wait a while for them to figure it out and we won't be getting any seafood. read more

This may be the best food I've ever had in Albuquerque. It's been a week and I can't stop thinking about the pork belly or the manchego cheese. We also had Chilean sea bass and it was amazing too. I would give this place 100 stars if I could. Tapas is my favorite type of restaurant and this is the best place I've had in the U.S. Kennedy helped us out and she was phenomenal and hilarious! The chef even came over to introduce herself. I tried the Poblano Flameado which was phenomenal, the pinchos were so cheesy and drool worthy, we got the Gambas A La Plancha, and again best shrimp I've had in a long time. The Higos y Barriga was delicious, strong in taste of fig balsamic. I lastly ordered the Manchen Frito, I personally enjoyed it but it was an interesting combination with the guava which some of my party didn't love. The wait staff were helpful in deciding menu items and checked back several times to make sure everything was satisfactory. In terms of tapas, we had Patatas Bravas (very good), the lamb chops (very good but over priced), the tri color peppers (just OK), the croquettas (good), fried Manchego (good), garlic shrimp special (good), and the bacon wrapped chicken skewers (least favorite part of meal). This is a wonderful small venue, tapas restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and great lighting. Here are the dishes we sampled: The shredded roasted lamb bites were delicious. Very tender meat. The Patatas Bravas were seasoned well with paprika and came with a garlic aioli and red bravas sauce. The sweet peppers stuffed with goat cheese needed a bit of salt but were otherwise flavorful. The chicken skewers were a bit tough/dry but had Serrano ham wrapped around them. That should have kept them moist, but no. Great meal overall and the service was attentive. Yes! I love this place! Reminds me of being back in España! That's probably the point, haha. I went there in my birthday. My date was vegetarian but we found many great vegetarian options for dinner. We started with the gazpacho and sangria. Both were delicious! Then we shared the asparagus (sin jamón), stuffed mushrooms and the roasted cauliflower. Wow! Everything was perfect! A fantastic meal! Honestly had no idea this wonderful gem existed until I stumbled across it on Yelp. We came for a friend's birthday on a Friday night and it wasn't super busy, which was great! The food is really good! The croquetas are tasty but have a different texture so I wouldn't recommend them for people who have texture problems. The patatas bravas are amazing and were probably my favorite part of the meal! They have great wine and the servers are knowledgeable about their selections. The only problem we had was that their beer they were advertising didn't taste like it should have so I'm not sure if there was an issue with the tap or not. We also made reservations for a birthday and my friend's birthday wasn't acknowledged at all. It would've made the experience more welcoming if they had at least told him happy birthday. This is one of those places that is good for special occasions or to spend an evening sipping on a bottle of red wine, having a good convo, and munching on tapas. The patio is a must in my opinion since there is nothing like fresh air dining to add to the mood (especially during these times). This is also a nice location that is not very commercial rather in the middle of a neighborhood which adds to the mood and experience. My favorite tapas here are the croquetas de jamon y pollo. They are crunchy on the outside and gooey inside. My runner up is the barriga as this reminds me of chicharrones in a way. I wanted to like this place so much! It was not a great experience. None of the food was very good. They delivered the wrong food a couple of times from other tables so we were waiting a very long time to eat. We ordered a bottle of white wine for the table to split. They told us when they brought it over that it wasn't cold and they didn't have what we wanted cold. They didn't offer a replacement and didn't offer any money back or solutions when we didn't drink it. I don't think I'd return after the slow service, wrong orders, and warm wine. read more

Our party of two was seated promptly at our reservation time of 7 PM and that's where the positive review starts and ends. At 715 PM were finally able to order 6 tapas and drinks. At 735 PM we were served one tapa. At 800 PM we had been served no more tapas and had not had not been given a refill of our drinks or water. When we asked for the check (after it was clear that we weren't getting a refill or tapas anytime soon), we were given our check for $66 without even so much of an apology or effort to try to remedy the situation. We have dined at numerous tapas places across the country and this was, hands down, the worst experience from a customer service perspective. Also, the one tapa that we did have was simply just OK. It certainly wasn't a dining experience worth $66. Given the service, the price and quality of the food, I absolutely can say we will not return. read more
